Any of you Gents use a humidifier for mold/mildew control?  Got a little mold upstairs but house has been empty for 6 months.  HVAC systems are suppose to do that right?

Home Depot has them for around $200 that supposedly takes care of 2500sq ft.  Would that take care of both floors if centrally placed?

Chuck,

Did you mean dehumidifier?

Yes to all.......dehumidifier.  And I do need to check the crawl space as this has been a record rain year.  May have some puddles under there😕

Mold needs three items to grow, moisture, temps between 70-90, and a food source. They will eat anything, but love wood, wallboard, and fibers (cloth)

If you find water puddles, try to shove it around, dissipate it. You can spray the wet areas with a solution of vinegar/water, that will help to keep any mold from growing.

Also, if you know there's mold in the house, get an air purifier. Those mold spores can easily become airborne.

I'm a little over half way there.  My sister in law dropped out last weekend but son in law and my wife are still dry with me.  On another note the garage gets sprayed tomorrow and the floor is scheduled to be epoxyed in Feb 1st.

Glad you're drying out Carl.....been worrying about you.  Actually thought about putting together an "intervention" at the Pilgrimage but couldn't find anyone sober to help.

Mmmmmm, hot water. It's official I'm losing it.

Got up went through my usual morning routine. Grind the beans put, water in the coffee pot, take some pills, let the dog outside while the coffee starts to brew.

Corral the dog back inside. Clean his feet. Give him a treat.

Walked back in the kitchen saw the pot was finished went to grab a cup.....I never put the coffee in the filter.😡

LF did the epoxy floor in the garage.  She has a 2sq. inch area that bubbled up and popped😕

I've seen that too, on some painted floors... except when I pulled up the carpet in the den, it appeared the original house construction crew felt it necessary to apply texture and latex everywhere lol... I got it all off before the wood floor people showed up...
