You could if you had an electric smoker, maybe a pellet fed smoker.....but us REAL BBQ cooks use pure lump charcoal, and they take some tinkering with over the course of 10-12 hours, which in reality isn't that big a deal.  Yes, should be a beautiful day tomorrow for a block party.....

Normally a 2.5 hour trip this was 5.0
Made trip 3 times this week and every one had its issues. 12 car pile up, single car with driver drifting off and over correcting killing 2 adult women and a 3 year old, etc

That photo was at about 3-4 PM

True, lump charcoal no, wood logs yes, caveman style.
