Considering Le Mans, my favorite vintage race cars were the 250GTO, 917 and GT40. The remember the Chaparral, it was unique for sure, but I always thought it was butt ugly. Ceptorman Posted July 14, 2015 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Dan Gurney's Eagle Mklll GTP car was a beautiful machine, especially hearing it scream through the hills and trees of Rd America. There were three places on that track that the car hit 200 mph. A good friend drove that car for a few years, and won a Daytona 24 race in it. JJK I seem to remember them using snow mobile motors for the fans. If one of them quit during a hard turn, off the track you went. EDIT: they mentioned that in the article.
