Bella
Conversations about knives are banned here too? Is it all knives or just over a certain blade length? Folding blades or blades that are sheathed? Who has a copy of the subject matter we aren't allowed to talk about that isn't specified in the TOS, and can I get a copy so that I don't keep stepping over the lines? oldtimer
The point is clear. Blame the murderer, not the weapon. I am not one to tell France what to do, but here in the USA we have a right to bear arms. Yet I'm not allowed to have grenades, grenade launchers, portable mortar launchers, handheld stinger missiles, etc. even though all fall under the category of "bearable arms." All of those things don't kill people, people do. Ironically very few agree with this logical interpretation of the second amendment. So I take it we are to defend ourselves against invasion (the most recognized reason behind the right) using only guns? Preposterous. muel
Maybe I missed it but I've never known guns or knives (or anything of the sort) to be banned from conversation here. It is just when it turns to politics and/or religion. Considering the inflammatory nature of the topic the other day I thought people were MOSTLY carrying on a civil discussion. It could have been much worse.

CECAA850
BTW, the moderator poll on locking the last thread was 5 for lock, 0 to remain open. Most thought it should have been locked 2 or 3 pages in. Edited June 14, 2016 by CECAA850

Bella
I know this goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Deranged individuals will always find a way to harm others. The chosen tool whether it be their bare hands or a nerf bat is besides the point. The current threat before us, and the world, has already proven to be most adept with anything they can get their hands on: fire, water, knives and even tall buildings. Calling for a limit or a ban on a specific category of tool/weapon completely misses the mark, in my opinion. We aren't fighting the tools, we are fighting the zealots. France has been very slow to realize this, but they are getting there. It is my hope we look at their situation and our recent situations (9/11, Boston, San Bernadino, Orlando) and come to our senses about our predicament. wvu80
Edit: If Carl wanted to edit his post I did the same. All you missed was a little good matured teasing by me due to a minor typo. You won't catch me making a misteak like that. +++ I didn't see the other thread that got locked, but I can guess which one is was. I didn't participate or even read it because I just can't deal with such tragedies right now. It doesn't bother me that other people want to talk about it, but for me I exercised my option of passing it by. "licking the ..." whaaaaat???? Ya'll Mods do a good job, but it seems like sometimes you just get weird. I guess it's that pressure of moderating and all, everybody has to have a way of letting off a little steam. Fixed and yes, we're an odd bunch, but you knew that already. Karsoncookie
I believe only "paring knives" should be available to the general public. Sets as shown below are too dangerous to be allowed to posses other than by Governmental Police Officers. Lars

Moderators Travis In Austin Posted June 14, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2016 (edited) Conversations about knives are banned here too? Is it all knives or just over a certain blade length? Folding blades or blades that are sheathed? Who has a copy of the subject matter we aren't allowed to talk about that isn't specified in the TOS, and can I get a copy so that I don't keep stepping over the lines? It's your source you keep making reference to."Zero Hedge is a batshit insane Austrian school finance blog run by two pseudonymous founders who post articles under the name "Tyler Durden," "The site posts nearly indecipherable analyses of multiple seemingly unrelated subjects to point towards a consistent theme of economic collapse any day now. Tyler seems to repeat The Economic Collapse Blog's idea of posting blog articles many times a day and encouraging people to post it as far and wide as humanly possible. Tyler moves away from the format of long lists to write insanely dense volumes[3] filled with (often contradicting) jargon that makes one wonder if the writers even know what the words actually mean.[4] The site first appeared in early 2009, meaning that (given Tyler's habit of taking a shit on each and every positive data point), anyone listening to him from the beginning missed the entire 2009-2014 rally in the equities market." When you start with a slanted, fallicious premise from a "bat shit crazy" blog you are bound to be be off track from the beginning. Bella
As I recall in the last thread, you were the only poster to commit a personal attack by calling someone stupid. And here you are again, attacking a ... news source? I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that there wasn't a knife attack in France that killed a couple people? Should I link other sources to satisfy your mind? http://www.reuters.com/article/us-france-crime-idUSKCN0YZ2KA Your post appears a bit batshit insane.
