JohnJ
Clocks changed, my metabolism is catching up. Listened to the first two recently, time for the third. This band is the full package! Gritty and or sultry vocals from several members, guitar that's comfortable doing anything, up to to an emulation of the Allman Bros. Keyboards, percussion & brass that are necessary here but don't overstep the focus of the story. And it is a story, in four volumes the videos show it well. They aren't a one trick pony. Dave1291
Susan Tedeschi Trucks kinda hits you right in the feels doesn't she @JohnJ? hahaha Austin City Limits from 2004 is over in the blink of an eye IF you can find it. KILLER! She'll rip yer heart out almost EVERY time! Check her guitar out in this one. Kinda wonder who's signed it. I know Bob Dylan did for one. Now jump into that Bonnie Raitt/Janis Joplin voice of hers. She's perfected it all in her presentation. Then factor in her guitar work? Slam Derek Trucks in there with her? It's really one show that should be on EVERYone's hit list. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Tedeschi 1

JohnJ
Don't have my original pressing vinyl right now. Looking for those is difficult sometimes on youtube now. Not sure what he changed but 36 min does seem short.

Jhakobe
Spring has not yet come to the areas around Lake Michigan - it’s snowing sideways today. Good reason spin some discs! 3
JohnJ
@AndreG. that was one of their last good ones! @Jhakobe Great release, not just one of Elton's better ones but one of the greats from that decade! 2

JohnJ
@dirtmudd you posted that one twice so I gave it a listen, kind of like that tune of theirs that was Floyd-like, hit me just right that day! Started with this one & yes the decibels approached 90. Very good heavy and long listen also! I could go over but I don't like pushing anything over halfway because it lasts longer like that! This is good to follow that one.
JohnJ
So apparently back in `84 this band had their recording taken from them by the label and sent to someone to remix "The guy that mixed the album had no clue what Queensrÿche was. He never listened to hard rock music and didn't take input from anyone in the band. He just mixed it according to how he thought it should sound. No-one in the band could listen to that record. We all hated it."* hells bells, I've always liked it and recognized it as prophetic since 2021! * The Warning (Queensrÿche album) - Wikipedia
Full Range
An audio friend sent me some CDs by Pavlov’s Dog First one spinning is pretty good Haven’t turned on the CD player for several years but it fired up OK and now spinning Pavlov’s Dog The Pekin Tapes recorded 1973 Released 2014 on CD only Although I had heard it many years ago via streaming I’m glad it’s landed as physical media to have a proper listen and enjoy it on the audio system What a great release and selection of songs And it’s a great pity the band did not go on to greater things when they were at their peak The Pekin Tapes
Full Range
Pavlov’s Dog singer David Surkamp released a solo album Roaring with Light in 2001 and returned in 2006/7 with his second solo album Dancing on the Edge of a Teacup, Spinning now - Dancing on the Edge of a Teacup Album kicks off with the track Looking For My Shadow Starting with soft windy sounds accompanied with percussion hand drums and what I think is a dulcimer instrument sound then bang - a sound wave hits you and goes off into a heavy Prog rock / pop arrangement with a decisive but heavy rhythmic beat This song is also my pick to listen to if you have the inclination 2
