Piranha
$2.85 Costco in Laguna Niguel. Oh well, it is what it is. Besides, it's not nearly as bad as the inflation adjusted prices back in the 70's gas crunch.

Cleve
$2.85 Costco in Laguna Niguel. Oh well, it is what it is. Besides, it's not nearly as bad as the inflation adjusted prices back in the 70's gas crunch. I *believe* the highest price for gas ever, inflation adjusted was in 1981 - sparked by the Iran/Iraq war - that equated to ~$3.10 per gallon. Give it a day or two. We're only a few cents away from surpassing that point. Several areas of the country already have. It's like ripples in a pond - the farther away from the Gulf Coast, the longer it will take to reach there. There's news articles on Yahoo right now that major airports in the Northeast may have to close next week due to a lack of fuel - and that there's already been sporadic closures of gas stations in the east and midwest. Dale A B
Central WI - Paid $2.90/gal this morning, but 2 other local stations had regular @ $3.00 & $3.10. It's expected to be $3.50 very soon, but who knows. I am lucky as I can bike 3 miles to work, and have been since April. Apocalypse Now

Firme
Premium was 2.86 last night, is up to 3.15 this morning I guess if poeple haven't figured it out yet, the Hurricane has damaged oil supply lines running across the US dropping the supply down alot. The gov has issued supply to counter the drop, but the lines are not fully functional yet, so prices shot up.
Anakin26
Hmm... once again, I will give you the european price! ;-) For one liter of unleaded gas (98 octane) you pay 1.22,- euros atm. This equals 4.61,- euros per gallon which is around 4.07,- USD.Nick

sunburnwilly
I apologize for the double topic post . I attempted to upload a picture and when I pressed post it took me to a blank screen . I then backed up and it appeared that it didn't go through . So I pressed post again and it took . I didn't realize that the first one took as well . My thanks to Amy for locking the other one . The attachment that I attempted to upload went something like this . - Regular - LOL , Plus - OMG , Premium - WTF . I didn't look at gas prices while I was out today but the radio stated they had gone up another .50 across the board . Truely WTF , and where will it end ? The gas at my dealer didn't run out overnight, nor did his supplier nor all the tanks in the US. One little flea sneezes and the price skyrockets. Sorry to be political, but if our President wasn't in the oil business, prices would be frozen. I hope some rich bastard oil tycoons get jail time over this.
