[W]I would sooner ram Knitting Needles through my ears than listen to that pathetic drible.[W]

If it wasn't for world music or Indie music labels I would not be looking for new or modern music. Buy music from labels run by people who genuinely love music and not the sorry #*&&*n music industry. I actually listened to a couple radio stations last week not by choice mind you but it was some of the worst rehashed crap UUUGGGggggghhhh!

Well said, seti!

Like many others here, I have not watched a single episode of any of these so-called reality shows...not a single one. As a matter of fact, my old monophonic JVC 20" color television set sat dormant in my bedroom closet for several years before I just gave it away to a new coworker who needed a set for her apartment, and that was back in '04! Haven't owned a new television or watched any network programs since, and I don't care if I ever do again (I don't miss it)!

I get my news on the radio (PBS) or online (MSNBC and CNN).

I enjoy my favorite music on my audio system way too much to waste my time watching garbage on the boob tube![6]

I watched every episode of Idol this season until about 4 weeks ago

when I quit cold turkey. I felt that the weekly themes were

especially boring for me, and couldnt bear to watch anymore.

One week.......love songs, then 40s show tunes, then Kenny Rogers, then

Manilow...etc, etc..etc. It cracks me up how the judges will

criticize contestants for choosing songs that dont 'bring it', and then

the show goes on and chooses terrible song genres for several weeks at

a time. Watching them sing a bunch of crappy showtunes or stuff I've

never heard of week after week got a bit lame. It seemed that

previous seasons tended to stick with cooler weekly themes, but this

seasons theme choices were by and large awful.

Watching the hilarious auditions at the beginning of each season never gets old!!

I don't watch television either these days, too busy; but I was at my ex's apartment in San Francisco and we watched American Idol. I must say, Paris did way better than that scary grey-haired guy. I mean he has a fabulous voice (for AI) but he freaks me out! Apparently, Paris got booted. [:'(]

Well I'm proud to say I've never watched a single minute of American Idol.[:D]

And embarrassed to admit I've watched every Survivor except the one set in Africa.[:$]

I probably made it through the first 5 seasons of survivor...LOL

I watched it through the "All Stars" or the 2nd season with

Rupert(whichever came last), and I have not watched an episode since.

It was definitely the biggest show in TV for those first few seasons,

but I've since fallen off the survivor map.

As of right now, there are only 2 shows that are on my "Must see" list.

1.Lost

2.Invasion

Buckeye, I know what you're saying, but I don't remember a 40's show tunes week. Or any show tunes week, for that matter. I do agree, though, the judges sit and criticize, "That was a boring performance." I wish one of the contestants would just say, "Sorry, country music isn't really my thing." This week the categories were much better.

The last three weeks, the correct person has been voted out. Paris is a good singer, but she will never be a 'star.' I think it will be Chris or Katherine, with Taylor as a possible spoiler. Elliot should be the next to go.

I have watched every episode of Survivor since the last couple episodes of the first season. I just watched tonight's episode, and cannot wait for next week and the finale.

Strangely enough, I don't watch any other "reality" shows, although I have tuned into Deal or No Deal a couple times. I mean, where else can you root for someone to lose? They are so stupid.

All legitimate negatives I agree--

But that's what makes it interesting--

Most of these kids were born in the late 80s, so they didn't grow up with the songs that they have to sing to appeal to the demographic of the show-- a much older audience, I bet. I think its got to be challenging to sing a song that you don't really know.

I'm so glad they steer from too much of contemporary pop which sux

Buckeye, I know what you're saying, but I don't

To be honest, I have no freaking clue what

in the hell they've been singing most weeks. Whatever it is, it

sure isnt what the primary Idol target audience listens too.... that's

for sure. It's definitely not anything that I would ever listen

to.

Whether it's the "Golden Oldies, Gold Standard or whatever they call

some of that old crap they've been singing. It's all the same to me.....

It might as well be jibberish for all im concerned. What in the

hell was that crap during Rod Stewart week, anyway?? Like who

wants to listen to that crap? I thought this was an "IDOL"

contest????

Nobody will become an american idol singing 60 year old "GRAND-MA-MA" music.....LOL

Blaaaaaaa...... Im done with idol until the fresh hilarious auditions begin next season.

For the life of me, I don't understand why you all bother watching this garbage on TV. Are you all that bored that you can't find anything more constructive to do with your time than to be glued to the tube rooting for the next contestant to make a fool of themselves on national television? Is that the attraction to reality TV because I fail to grasp the significence of it.

Enlighten me, folks...[:^)]

I wouldnt know what they sang last week because I lost interest several weeks ago.

I dont know which week was worse..... Barry Mannilow week, Rod Stewart

"singing to the 40s" week, the crap they sang during Kenny Rogers week,

or the junk they sang during "love songs" week.

I just cant decide my favorite. (not to mention crappy genres I missed)

Does anyone have a list of the weekly 'themes' since the top12??

While I admit there were a few good ones, many more were rather stupid and unwatchable.
