    • Would think if it is shorted in the wall, it would still be shorted without the speaker attached.   Anyway, couldn't find my multimeter still to test the other speaker for verification, so I was going to be left with trial and error. Not ideal obviously, but started with the suspect speaker being hooked up again since it didn't test as shorted, and it apparently still works.   I can only guess that either it briefly shorted because of something pressing the wires together or pressing up against the wall terminals.... or that the receiver detected a fluctuating resistance because of that loose connection and put itself into protection just in case. Probably was saved by the fact that it was in stereo, so it wasn't outputting to the channel.   Back to hyper focusing on making sure the kids don't go anywhere near the speakers again.... lol.

    • Youngest caught Joe & the boys at the Sphere in Vegas just before Christmas.  Naturally she had to tell me all aobut how great it was.  She wanted a seat belt for her seat at times but said it was an amazing show in there.     Yea, guess Dad did it again when he made that guest appearance in Phoenix in 2020 for the 11-stop 'Hotel California" pre-tour.  Yea, blame me.  Just another day at the office.  Blah!       So yea, she HAD to hear it then sang along?    Ummmmm...  Well nm.     Hotel California is the fifth studio album by American rock band the Eagles, released on December 8, 1976, by Asylum Records. Recorded by the band and produced by Bill Szymczyk at the Criteria and Record Plant studios between March and October 1976, it was the band's first album with guitarist Joe Walsh, who had replaced founding member Bernie Leadon, and the last to feature founding bassist Randy Meisner. The album cover features a photograph of the Beverly Hills Hotel, taken by David Alexander. Hotel California was an immediate critical and commercial success, topping the US Billboard 200 chart. At the 20th Grammy Awards, the title track won Record of the Year, and "New Kid in Town" won Best Arrangement for Voices. The album was also nominated for Album of the Year but lost to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours (1977). Three singles were released from the album, with the title track and "New Kid in Town" topping the Billboard Hot 100 and "Life in the Fast Lane" reaching No. 11. Hotel California is one of the best-selling albums of all time. It has been certified 26× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the US, and has sold over 32 million units worldwide, making it the band's second best-selling album after Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) (1976).[3] Ranked by various publications as one of the greatest albums of all time, it was placed at number 37 on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" in 2003 and 2012, re-positioned to number 118 in the 2020 edition. A 40th anniversary special edition of Hotel California was released in November 2017. The band played the album in its entirety during the Hotel California 2020 Tour.
    • Have fun with it! It is a hobby! Wont hurt but can be undone. If you are doing a rear port, I would suggest cutting a new back panel. Couldn't be easier and is quickly returned to stock. A port with the speaker positioned in the room correctly, may get you more bass. I doubt lower bass, just a couple spl from the woofer. Some feel the squawker is too bright, this may balance it out for you. Enjoy.
    • I currently have a 3.1 system and want to expand to 5.1 or 5.1.2. My listening area is not a "standard" room. I have a large rectangular room that is my office at one end and listening area, at the other end. This room also opens up into the dining room. My couch is up against the wall in the listening area, so I can not place speakers behind the couch. I want to place speakers on stands off to the sides of the couch. I'm looking at either the RP-502S surround speakers or the RP-500M. I currently have RP-600M and RP-500C as my fronts. My question is should i go with the surrounds or the bookcase speakers? I'm also thinking of placing two ceiling speakers 3 feet in front of the couch.
    • Thoughts appreciated. Got some things on the way already so we'll see how it all goes.
    • How does the depth of the La Scala AL6 horn compare to the Cornwall horn, especially considering time alignment? The AL6 horn, paired with an 18" woofer and passive radiator, can lower the crossover point and optimize the woofer for deeper bass.   For example, comparing an AE TD15H to a TD18H+ shows about a 5 dB increase in sensitivity. Although Klipsch would use its own woofer, this illustrates the potential gain in efficiency—great for low-wattage SET amplifiers, including those using 2A3 tubes.
    • Titebond III doesn't fully cure to the extent that type 1 or type II adhesives do. It remains somewhat pliable and prone to movement, comparatively. It may or may not be a problem IRL, but I've always avoided it unless I had a specific application that called for it. I've also found that it gums up sanding sheets more than types I or II.
    • @gigantic, why not Titebond III? I've found that III gives a slightly longer working time to get everything aligned and clamped.
