  1. This is the Beta and it rocks, don't think your every mouse click is not being tracked and sold ? Now you can see on every web page, who, and how many are stealing your every move, and selling it. On facebook just a min ago all I did was sign on, 144 tracking hits, oh and by the way, it blocks every dam one of them! Quite a little perk for free! Takes aprox two min to install. you will sleep a little better knowing your web surfing is NOT being Marketed. https://disconnect.me/

  2. Exactly. Sellers are welcome to sell at what they deem worthy without people jumping on their thread criticizing. If they don't sell, they don't sell.

  3. Your exactly right Amy, you can spend a ton of money on advertising and in the end all it get you is someone maby recalling the name when there looking at speakers. But that really helps especially if you don't spend crazy amounts of money doing it, the Klipsch Music center is a great Idea. Even the Synergy line and headphones sold in chain stores are doing a lot to get the name in front of many people, while adding sales. I ran across Klipsch accidently years ago looking specifically for horn speakers, I had never heard of them before that. Almost forgot, you wook mauivoulas today. couldn't help it

  8. Oldenough, you may already have a lot of unwanted maleware. Also, people can use incognito browsing to help cut down on the tracking. If anyone is not sure if they have unwanted malware, run malwarebytes, super antispware and Arovax, which are all freeware.I run these sometime to speedup the computer. Norton's on my system does not catch everything. Don't keep running all these malware programs, lol.

  11. So to use both Disconnect and Disconnect Search you need both downloads for each browser used? I have 2 laptops with 3 browsers on each so that would be 12 downloads? https://disconnect.me/ https://disconnect.me/search I don't have a knowledgable answer for you, but possibly yes. If you have a favorite browser that you don't want to be tracked on, and another that you might like to perform anonymous searches with, that would only be 2 downloads per machine. Might be a good way to familiarize yourself with the products.

  12. I totally understand that, dtel! It's shocking how many people here have never heard of us, or think we are based out of Germany. Although thanks to the Klipsch Music Center just north of Indy, many people now know the name....but think we are just a music center! I get asked for concert tickets every time I tell people where I work, ha! At least it is name recognition, and when people come across Klipsch speakers in a store, they have a distant memory of having heard that name somewhere before... That's actually the thought process behind the sports and music sponsorships...it gives our name more exposure than any magazine ad we could run. And we only go with athletes/musicians who approach us and love us, so it's authentic. It's difficult to get your name out there in this noisy world without spending a small fortune, that's for sure! Don't even get me started on TV ads... End rant.

  13. I'm a fan of the "visualize page". I also use Disconnect Search, which blocks your search queries even from your ISP. Using Google Chrome and an Incognito Page blocks cookies from your computer, but not content from your ISP.

  14. I feel the same way LarryC, great news. Edit; Very nice Amy, really glad to see that, even the loons on this forum have not heard many of the models, it was almost imposable. Part of the reason for being upset about this was because of our trip to Indy a few years ago. I was standing outside the hotel watching some speakers for Trey that were used at the Pilgramage in a ballroom. Trey went to go get a van to move them 500' back to the office. While waiting a man walked up to me and asked what are those, so I explained and told him about the pilgrimage. He asked the name of the company, I told him and said the offices were right behind this hotel, he said he lived a few miles from there all his life and never had any idea they were there or any of the companies history, he thought Klipsch made computer speakers mostly. I was just kind of shocked.

  16. No worries, LarryC and dtel! I don't have any good pics at the moment - it's under strict lock and key, but I can tell you it's a lovely space. Very professional. It's mostly a visual display of our models (all brands) because of the sheer number that we have, but we can set up listening demos if given a little notice. I took this photo in there a couple weeks ago..you can see a little in the background.

  17. Haha, one would think so. It's overrated. I've always said to take Garage Sale discussions (from both sides) about price or other hagglings off the forum into private messaging, but I don't police it constantly. I don't want to be too heavy-handed. But when people jump in just to tell someone they are being ridiculous about a price, especially if they are not a buyer, that seems a bit much. Not a huge deal, just something to keep in mind. We should let the original poster get back to selling his La Scalas, however.

  18. I completely apologize to Amy and Klipsch. I am sorry, I had no idea, never heard that before. Great idea especially since it's so hard to have stores even carry part of the Klipsch line of products. It was upsetting because Klipsch does sound better than other competitors in each price range and it's very hard to get to hear them.

  19. I think it's fine to discuss current asking prices on the main part forum, just not in regard to specific sales posts here. I find it a bit rude to the seller. If someone buys speakers without doing any research, that's their choice.

  20. Correct. Followed by a wipe the slate clean thread.

  21. Exactly. Sellers are welcome to sell at what they deem worthy without people jumping on their thread criticizing. If they don't sell, they don't sell. Thanks Amy. If I can't sell them at my price, so be it. I've seen people asking anywhere from 750 to 2500 for a pair of LS. For those who think I am asking too much, I have about $1500 in them. Perhaps I paid too much for them; but, to me, they are worth it. If you want a pair of LS and can get them for less with the Crites updates, glass tops and a new finish, then more power to you. If you wait long enough, there will always be someone who needs the money and will sell them for significantly less than they have in them. That's not me.

  27. If they are 2008's they most definately have mdf, but that is not a bad thing. MDF is more dense that marine plywood and does not resonate as easily.

  28. Rear surrounds should be symmetrical with the side walls, so 4ft in on each side. Don't worry about corners.
    1 point
  29. I think hes saying rear surrounds, as 7.1. I would mount them up to the ceiling, more towards the center not in the corners.

  30. You'll be fine. Level match your speakers and enjoy your center till you get your 7's. The improvement in the center channel will give you somewhat of a preview in what to expect when you change your mains.

  35. If you've already let the magic smoke out of the amp and your fuses blow in 5 seconds, it's time to take it apart and look around inside or punt it.

  37. The KSW-150 has been around a while. I wouldn't invest a ton of money in it if the amp is fried. It's tough to find people to work on them as Klipsch doesn't like to give out the schematics on their sub amps.

  41. sounds like you are reading it right... i just checked my parts express catalog & no 3.15 listed anywhere. just whole numbers past 2.5 & even the lower values are in .25 increments. what does the amp board say where the fuse goes in? usually the rating is listed there. im sure a 3a would be fine.

  42. The projector showed up on Thursday and after the initial set up, I am truly amazed! I'm so glad I got off the fence and finally did it. Here's a few pics of the set up. The projector came with a nice ceiling mount but having that long extension column hanging down to clear my ceiling fan just didn't appeal to me. I took a chance on the wall mount that Monoprice offers. It's built like a tank and perfect for where I needed to position the projector. Great price on this also. The horizontal beam where I mounted it has a 1/2" lip. I trimmed that with "T" molding and created a channel to run my cables out of sight. Projector mounted The screen is a 120" electric from Visual Apex Here a couple of screen shots Gravity Pacific Rim Thanks to all that answered my PM's and text messages throughout this process. Popcorn and beer is on me so come by anytime!

  43. why don't you experiment for free and experiment with lenghting the vent in your 5.5? Some rolled up craft paper and a little tape any you can play with different vent length all you want. This will lower the tuning of your speaker. I am sure that you will fine a wad of extra free bass somewhere between the stock length and double that length. What ever length you settle upon you can replace the paper with a cardboard or plastic vent of the same overall length. Zero integration issues and no sub to buy. Don't forget to reposition your speakers as you change the vent length. You should be able to drop the 3db down point at least 5 - 6 Hz easily so you can expect output into the upper twenties. Any sub that you buy is not likely to do much more than that. Exercise your options first and play with the vent length. Best regards Moray James.
