  5. I hear you. Thank you. It is permanent yet im learning how to live with it. I want to go bad. Further south we hoosiers get the better the scenes I considered flying and car rental and if i dont make this gathering i likely will next time. Airports 2 miles from my house. I cannot imagine 4000miles. 4 years ago i drove to atlanta and back for a wedding. Also played 18holes which was a bad mistake on spine. I use to hold a solid 3 handicap. Afterwards I really thought i was crippled for life and still had a wedding to go to. I am going to hope ark soon. just hope in 2 weeks im ready.

  13. While in Klipsch forums, click on the D to see the Disconnect dropdown. Then click on "Visualize Page" at the bottom portion of the dropdown. Find google-analytics.com, and click to enable talking to it so Chad and Amy have more accurate usage statistics for the forums. I really don't mind that they know I am here. Google-analytics gives them some very helpful data.

  15. This is the Beta and it rocks, don't think your every mouse click is not being tracked and sold ? Now you can see on every web page, who, and how many are stealing your every move, and selling it. On facebook just a min ago all I did was sign on, 144 tracking hits, oh and by the way, it blocks every dam one of them! Quite a little perk for free! Takes aprox two min to install. you will sleep a little better knowing your web surfing is NOT being Marketed. https://disconnect.me/

  18. I know I should be satisfied and I am, but.....what if I could get better? Having already sawed my Klipsch CDT 5800-C-II's into the ceiling for rears, they have to stay. However, what would be the best Klipsch package (Towers, center, sub) currently on the market to match them? I don't want them to be over-matched (if possible) It is for a basement system primarily used for movies but also for music when friends come over. Thank you

  20. Do what you can. Sorry to hear of your back issues, they can really get you down. You're way too young to be having back problems. Hope it's short lived. You're about twice as far away as I am. I just mapquested the trip for me. 600 miles back and forth. I'm looking forward to the ride, it's pretty scenic.

  22. You are efffing killing me on these prices! lol, They look so frickin good, and sound the way sound reproduction is meant to be. I would suggest building a hanger or simple loft to store them. You are giving them away and it hurts being 1700 miles from you, 3400 round trip. All 4 of these ev are correct and look so good. there are very few people who look at these and understand what they are. They can be very efficiently used in a small room as well as a 10K+ person outdoor pavilion. I do understand your predicament with space. Im just lost for words cause of how sought after the quality that your offering for so very little with drivers.

  24. When you don't see me on the forum much and/or I'm slow to respond to emails, it just means I'm getting busy. Right now it's my day job. I'm the Network Engineer for the new addition to the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB. So, longer hours and a lot of stress, plus I've got stuff piling up on the bench. You are the second person to ask me that question this week. No, my crossovers don't support biwiring or passive biamping. I know using a small tube amp for the mids/highs and solid state is kind of popular, but all that is really happening here is mixing the character of two amps across a relatively large range (think about the amount of overlap with low order filters). I've tried this several times and I think it just sounds weird, I always ended going back to a single amp. Then you have the gain matching issue to contend with. I'm not directing the following at you specifically, but in general, anytime you provide a feature, the end user has an expectation that you will help them through any kind of problem they might encounter if the feature is related to, or somehow included in the problem they are working through. I just decided that passive biamping isn't something I wanted to support or involve myself with.

  25. We actually do a lot of that, and sometimes shows do it on their own. Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts actually had Heresy and Cornwalls. Too bad the movie flopped. We were also prominently in The 40 Year Old Virgin and Be Cool (also terrible). The TV show "Suits" features Reference bookshelf models prominently. The list goes on, but those are some off the top of my head. I'm sure we'd like to do more if we could!

  34. I see all of this to be a very, very narrow market. Ask yourself how many people that you know are as passionate about Audio as you are. Then take away the people and friends you have met here or some sort of other audio gathering. I have three friends that I have known since High School (over 2.5 decades ago) that have decent Klipsch speakers and modest Electronics like myself. And yes, their ownership was influenced by my old setups growing up, so this even negates the probability of them looking for better audio having not being influenced by me. Would they consider to swap out a X-over and try a new one on their own...no. Would they consider taking time to update or re-wiring and old speaker searching for that last little bit thats probably not there....no. Do they ever complain about the quality of a 256K download..no. I guess Im the only freak in our small circle. Going further than that, a big portion of the people here balk at a $30 DVDA, Bluray audio or a $20 SACD. Now, everyone knows we can't afford to always buy lossless and the offering is not that great anyway. In time, I hope a lossless download is the norm, and I sure hope it gets here sooner than later. I applaud this push by Young as it will takes steps like this to get us there.

  35. Sounds like you married a keeper. Went to lunch with co-workers to a British Pub. Ordered fish & chips--the waitress comes by the table and says, "I've never in my entire life seen someone use so much ketchup." I was polite though--when the food came, i told every at the table to use the ketchup first because there wouldn't be any left when i got through with it. Always thinking of others--that's what ketchup does for you…oh yeah, and it's magic.

  36. The Visualize Page is (for me) the easiest way to know what is actually being blocked. Just because the green box/light shows up, that is only an indicator that something is being blocked, not that everything "bad" IS being blocked. AND, things change. Be vigilant.

  43. I have always preferred tube preamps, for their more natural, detailed, closer-to-the-actual-music sound. I lived very happily for many years with [edit] tube preamps combined with two Mark Levinson ML-2's, which were SS class A, 25-watt, 60-lb monsters. I preferred the switch to various tube preamps after living with a number of SS pre's which were never satisfactory. However, switching out the SS ML's for tube amps also had a pretty dramatic effect. I now have OTL's, which aren't perfect by any means, but I like the very transparent combo. So, I actually don't have a very definitive case for preferring either one. I do think, however, that I've heard SS produce a very solid, well-defined bass, and I wouldn't argue with someone preferring that. I think it comes down to how the electronics synergize with the system. But, you have to watch out for gain-matching issues. Some otherwise fine tube amps have so much gain that some combos are very noisy. It is often a mistake to blame the "amplifier" for the noise, when in fact, a very quiet amp is only magnifying the input pre-amp noise. By the way, the only power cord preference I ever have had is an ESP "Essence" on tubed preamps. And I don't just say that because I have a few ESP cords left over (for sale cheap) from when I put them on many things before deciding they only made a difference on tube preamps.
