  2. 1980 Belle's, all original, AA crossovers. Will update the crossovers at some point.... Played several selections from Steely Dan's "Aja", Clapton's "Unplugged", and a few from Anita Baker.... Well, all I have to say is, holy sh*t. Absolutely stunning. Amazing depth and realism. The bass is better than I expected, and I'm happy about that....Wow.

  6. It's crazy, out of control, there need to nation wide bans on "Ceramic squirrels" before any else get's hurt. At the very least a waiting period for anyone wanting to by one of those killer "Ceramic Squirrels", it just makes it easier for people to cause harm if anyone can own one, I guess the next thing is you could apply for a permit to carry a "Ceramic Squirrel" anywhere, I'm telling you this county is going to hell ! I know some have had the squirrels there whole life without problems but that has nothing to do with it, it's the NCSA behind all of this . One day people will see the National Ceramic Squirrel Association was completely wrong trying to make sure people had the right to have the deadly things ! Here it is another senseless news story that didn't have to happen.

  13. Update: Once upon a time the LaScals were hidden behind drywall. Now, they're hidden behind the grills the wife made (from scratch!) Though the fabric was expensive, I think she did a nice job. We are making bets with each other to see how long they last before our cat discovers the joys of clawing them.

  14. Good ideas, I think I have an itch to build something. But I don't know, I like the idea of hanging something in between the joist. I would think they it would be important to have them sitting at a an angle for rain to run off. I would all so need to come up with a way to easily dismount them so I could take them in for the winter.

  15. The responsible adult part disqualifies every member of this forum…Amy might be responsible since she's left. If you want to spring for a plane ticket from Los Angeles and rent me a car -- I'd be glad to help you out. I'm sure you'll get a better offer though. If you don't get any takers, give $20 to a homeless person and they'll "be your ride." Hope the scope goes well…not sure how to encourage you on that one.

  17. Hello and my first post to the group. I'm an acoustic musician and most of what I listen to are strings. I have some Rock/Blues LPs from the 60's-70's that I'll listen to every so often but most of what I listen to will relate to acoustic. I have a pair of Mackie 824 monitors I used to use when recording but now they are used when I'm at the computer & I have a pair of Mackie 450's I used to use when performing. I'd like to get some speakers for the living room for music and TV and could use the above speakers but I remember a friends Klipshorn speakers and never forgot how they left me breathless. Klipschorn are too large for my living room but I think I'd like to get a pair of older Klipsch speakers & build up a decent stereo system to go into them, sufficing with my old Technics Receiver & B&O Beogram 4002 turntable till I work my way up. I've done quite a bit of homework and think I would probably be most happy with either the Chorus 1 or the Forte 1 with the idea of upgrading to the Crites crossovers and Titanium diaphragms. I'm not into powerfully loud any more but I do want stunning reproduction of what is there. So with things narrowed down to this, I'd appreciate input of which between the two would be a better choice for acoustic instruments & vocals; the Chorus 1 or Forte 1 Another question is what is a reasonable price for a close to pristine unmolested set of these? Thanks.

  19. I said this from the very first day I heard about it a few weeks back. I just think Klipsch hired the wrong selecting person. I think the car analogy is perfect. Toyota Lexus and what not. This while reference tier thing will confuse the average person more likely. We all know we will understand it but none of us are average joes when it comes to this brand. Just think it was a mistake that's all. I know other keep saying who cares. And your right who cares. Doesn't matter to me, however we are allowed to voice our opinions and apparently this one is shared by me with others. I'm sticking with cinema as they are the bee's knees. The 63's will also stay and get a fancy facelift one day and be a one of a kind.

  20. MIchael Jackson highly recommended Propofol. Usually they use more than one drug during the anesthesia. I call it a cocktail.

  21. Way to water down the Reference brand, Klipsch! If you're going to call everything Reference, why call anything Reference? This was clearly a move made by the marketing guys -- as evidenced by this statement in the press release: "“We are launching exciting products in complimentary verticals with much tighter parameters for consistency in the marketplace." Holy marketing mumbo-jumbo, Batman! I have no doubt the products themselves will be fantastic. But there's a reason that companies don't lump everything together under one product line. I've said it before, but J6P is going to wonder why he needs to go to a specialty dealer and spend $1600/speaker on Reference RF-7IIs when he can run down to Best Buy and get some Reference R-28Fs for $450/speaker. They're all References, right? I just don't get the strategy here. And press releases with statements like the one I quoted above sure don't help matters.

  31. Agree you should ask for an overnight observation bed. Technically, it's not an admission, which payers won't reimburse for this purpose. They'll have a limited number of observation beds, so you need to get in the queue if you can.Around here, they won't turn you over to someone, even a health professional, who only gives you a ride home and then takes off. They'll insist on someone staying overnight with you. Anesthesia departments aren't casual about this, unfortunately. It's not a system made for people who live alone.

  34. I agree. The transparency of big mids makes everything else pale in comparison with my ears. I don't think you will be unhappy with either the Forte's or Chorus. The good thing is, neither will lose value and you could easily buy both pair and sell the lessor of your liking and know you got the right pair without wondering about the "what ifs."

  35. If i had to choose between the Chorus & Forte i would go with the fully horn loaded La Scala. Horns rule.

  41. Go out and listen to as many models as you can, what's good for one may not be right for another.

  42. you should consider forte ll or Chorus ll both have larger better quality mid horns. The forte will go lower than the Chorus does but the Chorus is more efficient. There are also differences between the sound of the 12 inch woofer and the fifteen inch woofer which is a personal preference. I think that playback level will also be a consideration if you like loud and you like to pound then the Chorus will win those battles every time. Since you said that you like acoustic music my first suggestion would be a Forte ll as the best all around performer. See if you can listen to both. Also keep your eyes open for a pair of KLF20 or KLF30 or for a pair of CF3 or CF4 any of those would also impress you and are well worth checking out. All of these speakers can be modified and improved if you find you like them and would like more. Welcome to the forum this is a great place glad to have you sign up. Best regards Moray James.
