  8. For those wondering, here are the differences between Icon and this new line of Reference. All new Reference Linear Travel Suspension tweeter design for smoother, more powerful high frequencies. All new mechanical woofer design with seamless dustcap for minimized mid frequency diffraction and distortion. All new Spun Copper IMG woofer cone is incredibly rigid, with new design adding structural integrity for minimal cone break up at high excursion levels. This makes for even cleaner, more accurate low frequency reproduction. All new Brushed Polymer Veneer finish is exceptionally durable with a much more contemporary aesthetic over the previous wood grain vinyl of the Icon series.

  14. Referring to Earl's post: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/135353-what-i-got-today/page-47#entry1756142 +++ It was so great to meet you today, Earl. Nothing like a 90 degree day shopping for speakers in a garage! To our fellow Klipschites, Earl got the absolute cream of the crop of a very large collection of amps/speakers. Earl walked into this garage and instantly found the best values. You have both a great eye and a great ear, Earl. You guys say pictures or it never happened. Believe me, it happened. Those are Pioneer CS-63 DX speakers being used as a table to stack receivers on. I don't even know what to say about this picture. It's hard to see but there are some tower speakers laid horizontally on a shelf (just under the top, left florescent light) about ten feet up, that required Earl climbing an eight foot ladder to retrieve. Here's Earl praying that his hearing comes back after testing speakers with no other source other than country music. Almost Heaven, West Virginia! Right, Earl?

Plan trip to Oregon coast, "No Speaker Buying" suprise trip to her favorite place for three or four days with zero, nada, nothing planned. This will be the first time iv EVER been in that state and not bought Klipsch, we are talking four past trips there. We will be taking her Toyota, cheap and the fact Khorns/Belles will not fit in it. Crabbing and Beer sound pretty dam good.

  20. Nice, but I like the view from the first one, OK I am taking back my application for housekeeper, will work for food (and some drinks) to live there, it's all I would need. Can I watch the housekeepers work ? That first house, I could just sit there for a week just looking out with a drink in my hand while the music plays, after that week I will make it to the beach.

  21. I sold a pair in better condition to speakerfritz (i considered them beaters with way less damage than those here) and I got 400 for them, If you hang around you will find MEMBERS know the value of the speakers and will sell accordingly I always check the post count, if someone has 1 post and is selling here you can almost bet they have ebay pricing, funny thing is they never really investigate the actual sold prices and they always seem to assume the highest price is what thiers are worth regardless of condition. as stated PATIENCE is the virtue, come often and you will learn a great deal about Klipsch values and Audio in general. Of all the forums I frequent this one is the most useful in knowledge and help I LOVE THIS PLACE

  25. My money right now is on three new lines called "Reference," "Reference II," and "Reference III." We know about Reference, and I suspect the current Reference II line-up will get some minor updates in 2015 to become the "new" Reference II. The big question is of course what the Reference III line will bring and how those speakers will improve upon Ref II. I expect fancier cabinets, trickle-down Palladium components, maybe three-way designs, and higher prices. However, there is a huge gap between Reference II and Palladium, so I expect Reference III will fill that void nicely. I'm not sure how "excited" I'm personally going to be considering that I just bought nine new speakers and my next major upgrade is years away, but progress is always a good thing. I am curious and interested in seeing what Klipsch comes up with, and I always root for the brand to do well in the marketplace.

  42. I would finish them for a purchaser if they so desired, clear oil or a medium walnut oil would give the medium oak finish similar to what Klipsch used. I have no facility for painting however ( and honestly, that would be a sin here)

  43. First store I stopped at today, picked up towels for car/truck washing, second store turned out to be a hospital run Hospice store were all proceeds go to the care of people who need the care they tell me. Did not get out of there without applying to work there, everyone donates their time, the one thing I seem to have a lot of lately. One of the people I noticed (older lady) was looking at this picture on the wall when I walked in, after surfing the store and picking up some more towels, I noticed this lady is still at this picture, lips kind of moving, im kind of thinking, ok wacko, so i walk over and look at it with her and say indeed it is a nice picture, some kind of prayer on the bottom and that is what she was saying to herself, so she is not a wacko after all, so I pay for my goodies, point out the lady to the counter people and tell them im buying that pic for the lady, have a nice day, proceed to my Pub.
