  1. I've been texting an individual today regarding an RSW-10d he has for sale. The conversation turned out to be pretty humorous so I felt I had to share with you guys. Me: Hi, how much are you asking for your Klipsch sub? Seller: If you click on more ads by this user it will bring up all 40 of my ads including the ad for the subwoofer Me: Gotcha Seller: This way you can see better pictures of it but I'm asking 450 its like brand new I have two of them Me: Thx. I have dual RSW15 in my HT but am always looking for good deals on Klipsch speakers. Best wishes with your sale Seller: They don't make an RSW 15. And - 450 fair price they sell for 2000 mine is barely used and immaculate condition Me: Sure they do. These are mine Me: http://www.klipsch.com/rsw-15-subwoofer/details Seller: Those are over 13 years old and that's an analog speaker - a digital speaker major major difference you can't compare the two I have an analog but it's a 2013 model they don't make those anymore for a reason my speaker will blow both of those away together Me: Oh wow. You are welcome to bring yours over for a showdown lol Seller: No thanks but if you're interested in getting a digital speaker where one cabinet give you as much base as both of yours let me know. I'm not desperate I'm selling it for a fair price Me: You seriously believe what you are saying don't you? Too funny. BTW it's spelled bass. I've owned dual Velodyne HGS15's as well as dual Klipsch RT-10d (Digital) and one of my RSW-15 provided more output than either of those pair of subs. Which is precisely why I sold them and kept the RSW-15's. Ask anyone in the Klipsch forum and they will tell you the RSW-15 is the best sub Klipsch has ever made. Me: Forgot to mention I had a Velodyne DD12 (another "Digital" sub) and it could not even come close to a single RSW-15. Seller: Yes but this is the RSW 10d which out performs all of them the Velodyne your RT 10 D Me: This is the funniest conversation I've had in a long time. You clearly have never heard an RSW-15 have you? Seller: I used to own audio advisors in Palm Beach County I had thousands of them at my disposal its garbage Me: I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was speaking to an expert. Can you explain to me then through physics exactly how your RSW10d with a single 10" woofer + a 10" passive radiator will out perform my two RSW-15's which has two 15" active + two 15" passive subs? Seller: Research my friend...take care.... I'll sell it to someone who can afford it, so body with knowledge. (I then sent him these photos) Seller: Nice...but u wish u could afford that....I have 20 subs in my media room...Go away! Crackhead Me: I'm a moderator in the Klipsch forums with hundreds of posts showing various Klipsch speakers I've owned over the years. Me: It's just hard to take you seriously since "the expert" told me earlier that klipsch did not even make an RSW15 and later you say you had thousands of them at your disposal. LOL. This truly has been an entertaining conversation. I needed a good laugh. Me: In all seriousness, I do wish you the best with your sale. A good friend of mine in Kissimmee has an RSW10d. I've heard it several times and although It's a good sub, it just cannot come close to the performance of the RSW15. No response from the seller after that.....LOL Honestly, I couldn't make this up if I wanted to.

  4. I'm glad I'm not the only person that found this funny. I was trying to have a little fun with the guy. When he said, "No thanks but if you're interested in getting a digital speaker where one cabinet give you as much base as both of yours let me know.", I knew it was going to be a great conversation. He sounded more like a salesman to me. Frankly I'm impressed that he has 20 subs in his media room. Maybe this is TheEar in disguise? (miss seeing him around here).

  7. ROTFLMBO!!! Crackhead, uh, Mr. Youthman, it's near the end of 2014 and it's pretty obvious what you are trying to do; win the Klipch Forum POY Award (Post Of The Year). I'm voting for you. +++ That was too funny when you kept sending pictures to him of your speakers. Just think of how good your stuff would sound, if you had THOUSANDS of speakers at your disposal... ...crackhead.

  8. You know, I started this thread simply wanting to be sold on an AT screen because I can't seem to find one to demo or talk to someone who actually deals in them who is truly on board with them anywhere near this area, yet am still interested, solely due to forum posts from guys like you and scrappy, even though some industry insiders said otherwise. Yeah, I still wanted to believe you over them but had to be sure. Some of these nice ones are too big of an investment just to experiment with and I need to make sure that it won't end up as a failed experiment, as I have bigger fish to fry. Due to this conversation I feel that EluneVision AT screens is a very safe bet while minimizing all of the traditional concerns and not having to build the frame myself, so I thank everyone who was involved in pointing me in their direction, some more than others. metro do you really think anyone on here is gonna call and argue with any of them guys? we could care less what some guy told you. just like i could care less if you spend thousands on a fancy name brand screen cause i have seen a bunch of fancy screens and i think my elite 4k is every bit as good for one fifth the price. I'm glad there is people that buy those other wise companies like them wouldn't exist. and if high end companies didn't exist then smaller companies would not try so hard to make a better product for less. and those are the ones i snag. i used to brag about my friends about how much money i had into my stuff. now I'm quite the opposite and brag about how little i have into it for what i have. and i have yet to be in a theater now that i think is any better than mine.

  9. Well, I wouldn't call them "factory stained". Just a nice furniture refinishing shop in Red Bank. Cost $200 a piece to get them to this condition, still some visual issues but you have to be close. I knew you would be on this Brandon! Your designation should be "Chief Enabler - Garage Sale Forum". Wives everywhere should fear your posts. Thanks for the kind words. John

  12. Very cool story. I'm 51 also but I don't remember the hippity hops. Even though I had 5 brothers and 1 sister, we always had a great Christmas. I watched the movie "Stand By Me" the other night, it reminded me a lot of my childhood, sleeping out in my treehouse with my friends, walking down the railroad tracks to go fishing, seems like a thousand years ago. I have 2 daughters, and tell them to enjoy this time of your life, because it's probably more simple than what's coming up.

  16. My dad never did any Christmas shopping either, but mom did enough for both of them!!! My parents always saw to it that we got the "deluxe" version of Christmas. They are truely some of my dearest memories. Waking up on Christmas morning after dreaming of the Christmas Comstock we knew would be piled around the tree. My two brothers and I would try to slip downstairs just before dawn. I can still hear my mom saying "you boys stay in the bed till the sun is out", but we couldn't hardly wait. When the green light finally came we rushed in like mad men and would dig into everything without reserve. We would start building/assembling/erecting/throwing/shooting/playing. We did whatever the toy would allow!!! The year we got the hippity hops we almost killed each other. Remember those things? Anyway, after a few hours of this mom would move to the kitchen where an awesome Christmas dinner would be created for our family and friends. So many years this was our standard operating procedure. I'm 51 years old now and still love Chirstmas.

  19. I sold my Pioneer SC35 and ordered a new AVR to use as a pre pro.. I wish it had balanced, but it doesn't SC85 It has a better DAC than my Oppo, MCACC Pro, and the latest generation Class D amp. slightly better than a sideways move, but not earth shattering.

  25. I'd love to try. Obviously that vid isn't going to have much in the way of fidelity, but I am pretty good at "listening through" the issues to get a sense of the actual event. Chris quoted J. Gordon Holt. I am no fan of him and his philosophy. If I were, I'd be all about Allen organs and such. I believe that it is possible, and that our passion and our technology is, in fact, inching forward towards a more transparent window on acoustic space/time events. Someday it will be possible to sit on the 50 yard line, 40 rows up, surrounded with OLED screens covering the walls, ceiling, and floor, and ALMOST be there. I still say "Those are great sounding SPEAKERS..." remains the biggest insult an audiophile can receive. Dave

  31. I had forgotten about Jamestown. Heard good things about them. I just took a look at Seymour's Facebook page and found these comments Your screen material is top notch. There is absolutely no sound difference (audibly) . Excellent picture quality as well and mine is 10ft wide. Here is a link they provided for the AVS HT of the Month http://www.avsforum.com/forum/92-community-news-polls/1629961-ht-month-humble-hangout.html in which they suggest " More AVS Home Theaters of the Month use the acoustically transparent Center Stage XD projection screen than all other screens combined. Rated "Best in Class," it offers mastering-studio performance for a song."

  32. That is funny, he sounds like he knows enough to be dangerous and makes up the rest. You may have missed out Youthman, it's digital and all ! Wonder if he sold speakers out of a white van in the past, or bought some, they were marked "digital" also ?

  36. I don't want my recordings to sound like live...I want them to sound better than live. Is this possible? I say yes, and if anybody would like an example, I can provide it. This according to my own experiences hearing specific live performances, then listening to the recordings of those live performances. I just don't want to unnecessarily bore everybody with my war stories; I think I'm too wordy already.

  41. Just an update....Wakejunkie's neck fusion surgery went very well and he is on the road to a complete recovery. It will still be a few months before the Dr. will release him to begin construction on the redesign. Since my last update, I purchased a second RSW-15 in Maple finish and posted details in this thread. Since this is part of the new build, I thought I would include the photos here as well.

  42. Just wanted to give an update.....Youthman's HT 2.0 will be placed on hold for several months. My good friend Wakejunkie has to have a vertebrae in his neck fused on Sept 3rd and will likely be unable to begin for several months after the surgery. Sure hate it for him. I'm not concerned about the delay in the HT one bit as his health is more important than any project we could work on together.

  43. As mentioned, #1 is likely this SW10 Subwoofer. 10" active subwoofer on the front with 12" passive on the back. #2 should be KG 2.2 - Details here. They have dual 6.5" woofers. #3 are CF-2. Details here With these speakers, I would use CF-2 for Left and Right speakers, use the KG 2.2 for surrounds and get a KV-3 for a center channel. Klipsch CF-2, Klipsch KV-3 and a Velodyne F-1500 sub was my very first Klipsch setup.
