Had a cup of Joe for breakfast for dinner, see Dtel your not the only one who has breakfast for dinner. Just finished calling all the parents on the basketball team, my wife and I are coaching. These kids are in for a real treat. We have never coached anything before, plus I know barely anything about basketball.[emoji46] [emoji45]6 points

Coaching kids can be rewarding and frustrating all at once. Just don't think of every game as game 7 of the NBA finals and you'll be fine. The main things you want the kids to do is have fun and learn a little bit each practice.5 points

LF is on her way back to the States. Her taxi to the airport was a Mercedes! She bought a lacy thong in a fancy lingerie shop and said it was for me. I replied back "for me to wear or see it on you?" Guitar practicing is going slow. My fingers just don't cooperate with some of the chords Especially the little finger. Had some good oysters and a few drinks Saturday night. The cook alternated batches for those that like them wet or dry. I ate both. Jake needs a bath so that is on my list for this week. I'm sure it's not on his list. The challenge is to lift his lard a$$ into the tub (115 pounds). Bought his Christmas lunch yesterday.....a pound of beef meant for stews which I will grill for the big day. He will just wolf it down in a few bites without chewing. Cheers Gents5 points

Morning, morning, all. On third cup of Seattle's Best . . . Sold a mostly working 1927 Victor Victrola "Consolette" yesterday, nice piece but not a grey piece, out of the basement hoard. The nice part? My wife lets me sell from the hoard and keep the cash for new or vintage audio gear--to try different stuff. A simple rule she has: nothing new comes in unless something old goes out. Prince I have much more than I need, it is turning into a good deal and keeping us off of an episode of hoarders! Inspired, I am going back into the basement collection today to see what other tidbits I have no intention of using ever again to put on CL--yesterday's sale was a Christmas buy--a nice lady bought the Victor for her husband for Christmas and now a little more $ in my future audio purchases fund. I call my new little turnover program: "recycled riches." But NO Klipsch speakers are leaving!5 points

Make it fun! My son plays on the 5th grade BB team. His coach has an interesting style. We have only one offensive play and everything works off that one play. We only play man to man defense. We have 12 players so we don't worry too much about conditioning. If you get open on offense he wants you to get the ball no matter what your skill level is. We are 5-1 and in second place so far this season. We are 2-0 against the 6th grade team in scrimmages. It's a neat system.4 points

Sounds like you and Jake will have a great Christmas. May want to throw on some oysters on the grill while you're cooking jake's feast. On the mercedes taxi, we were in Germany visiting my daughter and grandson this time last year and were amazed to find that Mercedes are as common in parts of Europe as Chevy's are in the States. My son-in-law explained that there are many models sold there which are not exported to the U.S. and that they don't have the huge import taxes and luxury penalties added on. Sigh. Have a great day guys and, as always, Cheers!!4 points

32 degrees, sleet, rain and snow. Windshield wipers frozen to the glass. 1/2 of ice on the windows. Wet feet from slushy puddles. Just another day in paradise.4 points

Thinking you managed the oysters as a gift for LF...good thinking... Oysters don't really work like they say, we get them by the sack and I have never noticed a difference. Although I tend to get "excited" just thinking about another sack of oysters, maby I misunderstood the whole thing ?3 points

Good morning you homebrewers out there. Guessing they are in the bottle now continuing to make natural carbonation, in a cool, but not too cool place out of the light. Mr. Brewer uses a glass 6 gallon bottle for his brew in order to stretch it some. Our whole block in Tally was homebrew central. They would experiment on me, with their extra hopped, licorice, and other blends. The biggest takeaway was the strerility required for the whole process. Neighbor there used some empty sparkling, Champagne bottle for brewing. Worked really well. There is even a process for brewing in the keg. Went to a party back then near the college where there were several taps hooked to the keg. Geting thirsty now. Rain in California! who would have thought...3 points

Who doesn't want to pay a non-refundable deposit to not be able to audition them? Maybe if the "ingenious lifting device" was included, unless that's his wife... I think the "ingenious lifting device" is a jock strap. Actually, I think the ingenious lifting device is his ego....2 points

The Heritage line will never become insignificant to Klipsch. There's a reason we STILL make those awesome speakers and sell them. Aren't many of our competitors that can say that, IMHO.2 points

Something Bluetooth. Something with a heavy Audiovox influence. Something made with a lot of plastic. Something made in China.2 points

Moray is probably correct. It may be old advertising gambit, "new and improved" which is neither new or improved. We will see, It is fun to speculate.2 points

time to re address the Heritage line before it becomes insignificant. Time for a larger two way Heresy IV and a new LaScalal lll Cornwall IV and Khorn ll all two ways with the K510. That would be significant. I am not holding my breath that 2015 holds much of interest in store. Best regards Moray James.2 points

Yup, descended from fair haired Irish, I'll be using a lot of sunscreen. We're doing a three week trip next Fall, to visit some places we want to settle. First off, not on the eastern side of any islands, because that's what catches the brunt of the typhoons, not too low an area to miss the flooding. Not too close to any of the more active volcanoes... Close enough to a hospital but away from Manila (10 million plus...). We're talkin' around 10-20 degrees latitude. Hot and humid!2 points

Saw the wife off for her work day, couple cups and back to bed, good way to start a Monday. Now off to Ship CCs Resistors, the Pub and Breakfast.2 points

When you do retire there, think sunscreen for the first year, your going to need it probably more than anyone else on the island. Don't blame you at all for considering that move.2 points

I agree with you mostly Gilbert, but when a team loses 30-zip, it's not just the quarterback. Manziel deserves at least a year or two before we have any idea of what he is capable of in the NFL. One game really doesn't tell you much, coaches can tell much more from watching him in practice every day. The one part of the story that disturbed me was how everyone said how "hard" Johnny worked all week in practice. The hardest he's worked all year. Manziel himself said he had not worked hard all year until the last week. That shows me a very poor work ethic and a lousy attitude for a professional football player, the "leader" of the team. That is the part that would make me think he's not good pro QB material.2 points

Amy mentioned awhile back that Klipsch would have some pretty exciting news and for us to be patient. I'm thinking this is what she was referring to because I don't see the current "Reference" speakers (even the new subwoofers) as being super exciting news.2 points

Took my daughter to a Grateful Dead show when she was 10. jerol1 point

That would be hilarious if you sat down at an orchestra and pulled out an SPL meter to measure the reference level for your home speakers, thats dedication right there. Great thread btw.1 point

Agreed, as the OP we need to let this "distraction" die. However, we no longer doubt who is right or wrong or who was wrong and wronged. I am sure this was just a misunderstanding, but I haven't heard that from the source. I was taught to apologize for my mistakes, so I hope they have in a PM to Joe. That's the last I will say on the subject. Is anyone driving from Chicago area to MD over the holiday? Now, can't we all just get along?... Here are my puppies, since no one can stay mad at puppies.1 point

Please guys!!! No matter who is right or wrong here, this is really trashing the good Karma of the thread and the idea behind it. How about taking the "bump and posting" argument somewhere else? Thank you.1 point

ill say it again. Please listen closely. Call mike at acoustic sound design. Or Eric at sound distributors. CALL FOR THE BEST PRICE. They will do around 30% off no tax free shipping. Better deal than Klipsch gives. Do not get the 52 center. The center is the most important. And also important to match the front three. Get the rf-62ii and rc-62ii for around 1100-1150 if I remember right. As for subs. Step away from Klipsch. Go with an Svs, psa, hsu, rythmik. One of those internet direct brands will spank all but a couple subs that Klipsch has ever made. Or if you can assemble you can go diy route and buy flat packs like I did. Then you can get the most bang for your buck with subwoofage.1 point
