  1. Joey turns 8 today, he's setting in front of the couch and states "Oh man I forgot to ask for that" I retort ask for what ?? He responds "Headphones for my Ds" I had already found a great deal on a pair of fostex tx-1 14.99 shipped free and 2 pair were setting here waiting to give him and his brother Why not give him an early gift before school..................So I give them the headphones and joey flips, runs to get his DS where I have loaded 20 or so songs, hooks them up and when it is time to head out to the bus hes like Thank You Dad, and proceeds to tell me how much better he can hear his music he said " it sounds more attractive" , These are the moments we remember, Jacob set his aside on the bed, did not even look up when I gave them to him angry birds was more important

  3. Friday here at work. Our phones have been down over 48 hours now. AT&T and our IT guys still scratching their collective heads. It absolutely blows my mind that it's gone on this long. Looking extra forward to the weekend this week.

  8. Mornin' gang. Hey, I lost a bunch of weight over the past 8 or 9 months going low carb and gluten free, but I get to eat a lot of stuff that doesn't seem like diet food. If I was restricted to salads and/or tiny portions, or even calorie counting, I would have blown it. Busy weekend coming up with friends, dog training and, if the weather holds, BBQ. Check back later and cheers to all.

  10. Here they are at the factory last week. In the photo are the two builders, the quality control person, and the packer. I really appreciate the attention to detail. These are nothing short of miraculous! They blow my La Scalas paired with my subs away. They didn't fill the house with sound quite like these do. American craftsmanship at its finest!

  12. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the help given to me in learning how to turn my computer into a juke box. I literally just finished uploading and converting 40,404 songs onto my computer in FLAC and will be using it as my music server along with the external drive through my tube amp, dac, and 2 channel near field listening set up. It took a few weeks, but I think I have it set to where I want it. Thanks Again everyone! Now onto my cassettes to see how they will sound converted.

  25. When I go to a movie, I go for entertainment, if there is truth portrayed, then all the better. In the wake of the movies popularity there is much to read regarding its accuracy, in any case, I enjoyed how Mr. Kyle's purpose was so concretely portrayed. God, country, family. His mission was clear, on all front's, and he appeared to live accordingly but not without consequence. I found that refreshing and respectable. “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.” ― Theodore Roosevelt

  26. I watched it last night if you have not seen it you need to. There is a lot of cool stuff on it. For example most of the songs you heard when you were young if your around 55 60 anyway had the same band playing on the tracks that were recorded. I learned a lot I need to find a dvd of it. Rick

  27. My son is in webelos (boy scouts) and they are doing an Indian camp ground and need to come up with Indian names for themselves. I jokingly said to one of the den leaders without my son hearing me that my son's name should be broken rubber. He laughed half heartedly and thought I was serious. He of course said I couldn't name him that.

  28. Evening Gang Single Malt tasted pretty good however knowing i have enough supplys for some bench work, i opted for a fresh Cracked Major Dickinsons Blend. Workin on the Boat Dash, Last Resort, Out-of-Beer-MiniBar. Using Milling Machine bits in a drill press on RedOak, seems to really work/cuts well.

  29. Guess I should have stated how I'm listening to Spotify. I'm using my iPhone connected to the AppleTV via Apple Airplay. Then from the AppleTV, into the Onkyo via HDMI. Without a subscription, you can use Spotify like you can with Pandora through Music Stations or you can choose an artist and it will Shuffle the Songs from that Artist. The subscription allows you to pick specific songs to play and at a higher bitrate. My plan is to do what Wakejunkie did in his HT which is to use an older Dell computer that I have that isn't being used and turn it into a Media PC and pick up a small wireless keyboard.

  36. I have 3 sons, the youngest is 18. I am here to tell you that they could not be more different. It's like they grew up in different countries they are so different. I always thought that was interesting. Actually it is bizarre. LOL agreed, although my brothers and myself are all also completely different..........................

  37. Good deal Jerry. I can't wait to see the finished product. You'll have a hard time listening to music without these running once you get used to the nice bottom end they provide.

  42. Listening to Jeff Buckley on vinyl. Linkin Park on vinyl next. Listened also to Vivaldi : The Four Seasons recomposed by Max Richter. The first thing I listened to was Kings of Leon and Def Leppard: High and Dry. Also watched clips from Avatar, Star Trek, and Top Gun. The twin R-115SW's keep up just fine, but when I had them on with the Khorns it was way too much bass- lol. Listening to just the Khorns for music, so they must be sealed pretty good.

Life on the Farm is pretty hard, they were all drinkin BMs @10am and shooting off their raised deck.

  45. Hello everyone.... My first post here, but I see many familiar faces (0: Just opened this beast last night... The Korg Kronos X Since I play professionally, and my Korg Triton has been on the road some 11 years now, it was time for an update ... This one is the 73 note version with piano action keyboard. The photo shows it only moments after being removed from the box... This workstation is recognized as the top model across all brands ! Price was so good, I could not ignore the deal a pro audio/music store in NYC was offering... Hopefully it will be integrated into the keyboard rig by our season opening show in April ;0) .......gw

Even if you can't help, drop me a note and let me know how you're doing. I'm starting to think you all have forgotten me! Exile is a lonely place
