  1. Good morning all. I'm back from forum weekend hiatus and somewhat caught up. Glad to see you posting Mark! Gary, I would have loved to see the show and am hacked off that I missed it. Bruce, take care of your wife while she goes through this. It's a good excuse to pamper her! Hope everyone had a good 4'th. I was reading about the gut in Maine that set a firework mortal launcher on his head and lit one. He was killed instantly (true story, google it). Darwin strikes again. Bathroom is coming along slowly. I finished building the enclosure for the can lights, and got the can lights in. Mud is next. I'll try to get some pictures up this week. The soccer game was AWESOME!!!!!! Even the casual observer would have loved that game. The women are so incredibly skilled. I've never seen 7 goals in a world cup finals before, men or women's. The men's next year will be fun to watch but I'm not expecting them to bring home the cup like the women did.

  3. Going I'm going where the water tastes like wine, I'm off the road again...Pop Fizz Oh what a relief tis... Go soccer Champs. A force to reckon with. USA Electronic digital Leslie. Appears nicely built. Thanks Fireworks and stray cats. Recent female Siamese was missing off of deck for about 23 hours with me alone here tasked with the affairs of the Outlander cat. Of a sudden as I was leaving food should she return, she appeared. Now hours later poof. Wonder if she is playing us with the neighbors. Healthy cat according to Vet around 2 and most likely not spayed. When I was married, we had a Calico cat. And then another, etc. She might be hanging down to the crib, or doghouse, or, hanging down at the corner under the streetlight, looking at the moon. Peek a boo cat. Road trips, alright!

  11. Nice story there dTel ! You were on the listening end and you enjoyed it I am fortunate to have not only Pat and Butch, but, since our home is on a corner lot, there is a triangle of sorts, so the other neighbor a GP doctor (when I talked to his wife recently) said they really liked what I had playing on the deck also. So, just yesterday morning, it was all spacey, new age music while they were on their deck which has a built in hot tub/Jacuzzi - I have one speaker aimed in both neighbor's directions, but not a single complaint, so it is really working out nicely.....very lucky indeed !

  12. I have small computer fans on all my garage audio components. They'll shut down without them. All you need is some old 12 volt case fans and a wall adapter. I have 3 in my HT cabinet just to exhaust hot air.

  13. Good monday morning once again Payin bills/planning trip. Must think on where to stay this time around, all these years we have been staying at Table Rock Motel. Looking into closer to town, eliminate the short drive and can/will stagger back to room. Second pot-a-perkin. Bandon has nothing really going except a music fest of some sort.

  14. Good morning once again gang......... Ok, some have already been there, but if not..............outdoor breakfast cookin' all in a photo essay for you in Fine Food and Music... Hope you enjoy, and DO post more foodie photos there of your own...........in process and final dish pics are what it's all about if you are able, well, music too We had the iPad playing into the deck audio, Gene Harris, Vince G. Bill Evans and other jazz greats.. My neighbor Pat yelled over good morning, I invited her for coffee, but she is not drinking much of it these days.........stomach issues she says. BUT, she asked if I would leave the music cranked so she could enjoy during her outdoor yard and pool work. SO, she has SXM radio - 'Watercolors' all day.... I leave the grill cabinet open now, as the receiver has shut down on my twice, even with all the venting in that enclosure, it is not enough when it is hot and humid out, volume at a good clip... All for now, more music practice here.. Oh, sorry Carl that you missed that show, it was really something.......those two organs have not sounded so good in many a year ! We were fine tuning them ALL WEEK according to what Nathan needed fixed, adjusted etc. Sounds good Chuck, photos in FF&M another time ? Enjoy your Monday everyone.... .....Gary

  15. A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to Michael for his hospitality and audition of the various Klipsch speakers. What a great guy! And very interesting/talented, I might add. My nephew and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I ended up with an incredible pair of speakers which I am extremely grateful for. Once I got them home and in the house, I stayed up half the night listening to them . . . which sounded like a good idea at the time, of course. This morning, however, at 5 a.m. when that alarm went off. . . UGH! Now I'm at work and you can guess what is dragging. Nevertheless, my Cornwalls will be waiting for me when I get home tonight, so all is well. I am going to have to invest in a better amplifier for sure (which I already knew). I'd love to find a used MAC 6700. THANKS AGAIN, MICHAEL!

  21. Now that's the kind of neighbor to have, your lucky. Years ago when were still landscaping, on one house we were working on the owner would ask want you want to hear today ? He had in ceiling speakers around his covered porch which went around the whole house, he would leave a satellite radio station playing all day for us when he went to work. It was very nice of him to do that and made work even more fun. He was a nice guy, we went back to see him after we were done and found out his favorite thing to do was sit on the porch listening to music after work and he would turn on his new sprinkler system and just watch the water spray everywhere. He laughed when I told him I am not responsible if he waters so much his house slides off the hill it was on.

  22. Thanks for the fan suggestions everyone ........... It is near 90 out there........audio system been on since 7:45am. NO SHUTDOWN, so leaving the cabinet door open is doing the trick nicely.....nearly SEVEN hours later I will be sure to shut it down by 5pm. as that is when I am leaving for tonight's rehearsal. I won't be home until half past nine tonight and I don't think music that loud will be appropriate at that hour unattended .. .........Gary

  24. Well, she was an American girl Raised on promises She couldn't help thinkin' That there was a little more to life somewhere else After all it was a great big world With lots of places to run to And if she had to die tryin' She had one little promise she was gonna keep O yeah, all right Take it easy, baby Make it last all night She was an American girl Well, it was kind of cold that night She stood alone on her balcony Yeah, she could hear the cars roll by Out on 441 like waves crashin' on the beach And for one desperate moment There he crept back in her memory God it's so painful when something that's so close Is still so far out of reach O yeah, all right Take it easy, baby Make it last all night She was an American girl

Here is to you Boxx, thanks for being a part of my life, I'm a better person for it.... Today I celebrate the memories of our friend Kevin. We were very fortunate to have him as a part of our Klipsch family for so many years. I feel truly blessed. Rest In Peace Kevin Croft. Dennie

  31. I don't really agree with this, it may be ok for being a gentleman while helping towers out with a subtle foundaton on music, but for movies the sub-bass doesn't really open up nicely until you get two in there. They are more directional than I'd like as well, so only having one can make the room sound lopsided. I have a 15x20 room with 9' ceilings and tried about every combination possible in there. But yeah, of course, if budget dictates then one will get you started. I just don't think that two is only necessary with very large rooms as stated. Two should be the goal from the beginning in my opinion, even in relatively small rooms.

  38. Welcome to the forum. Sw-311 are gonna be exactly what you think. Wouldn't hardly be able to keep up. And way overpriced at 600. Rsw-15 would be great if you found one. New r-115sw are pretty great subs for movies. You can find them new for a very good price. Not much more than the sw-311 and I promise you it will smoke them. Now let me be the good forum member I am and give you the truth. Klipsch has made some descent subs. But there are better out there for your money. A pair is great if you want even bass for more seats. All depends on your real budget and what kid of bass you are expecting. If you and the wife like bass a lot then a pair of Svs pb-2000's would be sweet. You get a discount from them when buying duals. The cylinder subs they sell take up very little room if size is an issue. Two pc-2000's would be great too. Plus they have really changed the look of them for the better. Let us know a budget and expectation, movie music usage ratio, room size, and, volumes you like to be capable of and we can give you a better answer. I know you said you liked a Klipsch sub and that is why I addressed that first but since you came here asking for advice I feel the need to at least mention it. If no one had ever done the same for me if prolly still own there rsw-10d's and I would have absolutely no clue what SUB bass really was.

Probably shouldn't say that, I've done many dumb things over the years I don't know about the log thing, well since they rip off pieces to eat I couldn't imagine it either.

  45. SQ is highly subjective. Go to a BB and pick something that fits your criteria. Try it at home for a couple of weeks. They have a 30 day return policy.
