  1. Good news everyone! I have just come from visiting Dee in the hospital. He is doing much better. The doctor wants to treat his condition with drugs... no invasive procedures at this time. Also, he was about to be moved from CCU to a regular room. I'll be visiting him again tomorrow and will keep everyone updated. Keep those prayers going. Tony

  2. I have be think of replacing two of the sealed 4 cu ft boxes with two more large vented subs. The vented subs have quite a bit more output in the 15 Hz and up frequencies. I have a feeling that if I tuned the box to around 16 Hz that this will get me a lot more output from 12 Hz and up. Today I brought some 3/4 MDF (two sheet) and cut the pieces. This will be my first complete sub build so, it should be an adventure. Pic's of the build will be posted.

  4. I have just come from the hospital again. Dee continues to improve. He was sitting up in bed, eating lunch and waiting on the Doc to make his rounds. Understandably, he is anxious to go home. He is in good spirits and looks good. I'll report back tomorrow after our daily visit. Tony

  5. Good Morning All - A nice top down morning on the drive to work. Another Monday and another week of life to make some coin, live life large and be thankful my wife has never changed her mind on marrying me 20 years ago.

  6. Morning folks....glad you all checked in. Good luck with the new used transmission MKP. Very nice of you Luther to help your neighbor out. Would have liked to sample the pulled pork. I've lost almost four pounds so far.....eating a lot of protein. LF went to Costco and bought two pounds of chicken salad which is made from their rotessirie chickens. That will be good for lunches on lettuce wraps. My project for this week is to hand wax the Volvo. Going to wax it in sections so not to burn myself out too early. Windows 10 installed. Falling off wi fi some but that could be Time Warner. I don't want to go through a song and dance to chat with my buds here every day. Suppose to have great weather here this week with rain Tuesday but clear and mid 80s for all other days. Cheers Ladies and Gents

  7. A long day. I spent about 5 hours painting my neighbors living room and entryway. She is 77 and such a sweetie. Then I spent the rest of the day ripping CD's while I took care of some things around the house. Finished the day off with some slow cooked pulled pork and a Stella Artois.

  15. In most states it is theft by check, which is much easier to prove than theft. You do not need to prove intent or the state of mind of the check writer. In most states it is not theft of goods, which is much more difficult to prove. It most states if you call to report a stolen vehicle you will be asked if the item was taken without your knowledge or permission, and as soon as the check comes up, in most states, they will tell you it cannot be listed as stolen. You either have the right to repossession with the proper documents or a theft by check case. If it has to go so far as criminal court they can file it both under theft by check, and plain old theft, but they typically do not because with theft by check there is a statute that says they only have to prove that a check was returned, that they gave notice to make it good, and they didn't make it good. There are many more elements to prove on just "theft" such as intent and state of mind. So they typically do not charge theft, but every state is different and they can certainly charge it as a theft. In this particular case it is made more complicated by the fact that the ultimate possessor/buyer is different from the check writer/parents. There could be a theft charge against the parents, but more probably it is really conspiracy to commit theft. There for sure is a theft by check, or whatever it is called in Kentucky. Travis

  16. Wow lots going on here, don't know where to start so I won't say much, keep smoking, and never tick off your dentist, fresh coffee beans, Chuck losing weight and Luther "helping" a older neighbor lady and getting his pork pulled all while Sancho's kiddies started school. I still know I missed something. Been busy the last two days helping a neighbor replace hot water lines that were frozen in a place she is now renting for her granddaughter around the corner. I hate plumbing.

  18. Hey gang. Just catching up and checking in after my normal weekend absence. I'm thankful we're off the subject of Chucks nuts. I left Friday afternoon after work with my wife to go see my brother in Tyler. It was 105 and 106 up there both days but I'd much rather have that than the 98, 99 we have here with the humidity. There's no comparison. While we were up there we shot over to Plano and had lunch with Thaddeussmith, his wife and 2 beautiful little girls. Thankfully they must not have much of Michaels dna in them as they're cute as bugs. To make a Lord of the rings analogy, I'd put Michael somewhere between the Hobbits and dwarfs (but much taller) and his daughters little elves. His wife is wonderful as well. They're a great family. We left Sunday morning to come home which gave me time to fix a wall receptacle at my sons house and cut up more tile for my bathroom project. Back to work for now and remember. Every minute you spend at work is a minute closer to the weekend .

  21. http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/08/world/perseid-meteor-shower-2015/ When I was 6 years old (1966) my dad came home from work (late shift) at about 1 am one night and woke up the family. We went outside to observe a spectacular meteor shower. The sky appeared to be raining with meteors. I swear one landed near our back yard (probably not of course). The sky was very dark where we lived outside of Victoria, Texas (the nearest street light was 10 miles from us). It was November, and the meteor shower was the Leonids. I think that particular meteor shower has gained legendary status. You never know how these things will turn out. I'll be watching this week (albeit from the incredibly light-polluted Dallas-Fort Worth metro area).

  25. Basically what happened is that a guy bought a couple of trailers from me, one for him and one for his dad. He gave a card for a deposit and was supposed to be sending his parents down with cash for the rest. There seemed to be lots of miscommunication on the buyers part because suddenly I've got two older, ticked off, and confused parents on my hands who don't have cash nor straps to secure them. They tried to go to a bank to get the rest but it wasn't their bank and they could only use the ATM, and came up with $1,200. Rather than send them home, I let them write a check for the rest, they said they'd just cover it for now and get their son to pay them back. At this point this circus of a transaction really isn't that far out of the norm, some people just can't follow instructions so I try to help them out rather than be a butthole. A competitor of mine who happened to be around even drove to a different city to buy them straps. So, lo and behold, that check bounced. Here's the thing though. The original buyer is unresponsive, the girl who runs their family trucking business and was going to talk to these people is now unresponsive, there's no way the parents don't know about this and they haven't contacted me, the business that one of the trailers is made out to on the paperwork angrily denies they even know any of these people even though the corporate officers listed online says differently plus it's their address on the title which they didn't seem to care about, there is no phone number for the older people and their bank won't give it to me, I can't report them as stolen at this point since technically they wrote a check, which means I can't block them at the DMV from registering them. I tried to run the original card he gave me just to find out it was a prepaid debit card and only had a small amount left on it. So basically there's two trailers of mine out there and I don't know where they're at or anything. I don't know if they are being used at this business, or they were sold to an unsuspecting buyer, or what. In the meantime I'm out $2,650 and I don't know if that is permanent or not. On Friday I got this "I'll make them famous" attitude due to the noncooperation and temporarily posted a picture of the check until an admin saw it. The check bounced, the item purchased with said check is now theft, call the police and report it as such in their state as well as your own.

  26. Hey guys.....Happy Sunday to all... Chuck I'm still here....been keeping up on post.... Been really busy...trying to get that damn van done for my daughter. 28. Yes, but we will be at Rodney's....half the time you won't even be thinking about the new TV....and all good things in life are worth waiting for...I would think a 70" TV is one of those "things"!!!! In addition, seeing my brother and going to Rodney's makes me very happy....what more could you ask for!!!! Happy wife=happy life!!! I'm so lucky!!!!

  30. Good news and bad news The good news is the wife ordered a new TV to replace ours which is making us go blind it has gotten so bad, It will be delivered for free next week. Yes I am very happy. The somewhat bad news is I have to uninstall every piece of stereo equipment that's on the entertainment "thing" I built. This means the Ht receiver, BR player and everything for the 2 CH and none of it has been touched for years. The entertainment "thing" is a cabinet I built 10+ years ago with Red Oak which goes around a 65" CRT rear projection TV, the sides has places for DVD's and CD's and the top has a shelf for electronics. The center channel for the Ht is sitting on the very top also. This cabinet thing will be redone as a place to sit the new TV on top of which shouldn't be a terribly hard thing to convert (I hope). Christy's brother and his wife which she has not seen in about 40 years will be visiting for most of this week so I probably shouldn't start tearing everything up here just yet. Then when her brother leaves we will be leaving for at least a week, so our daughter will have them bring the Tv in and just set it somewhere. So I will be out of town thinking about a new Tv waiting for me and before it can be setup I will have to redo the cabinet, it will be hard to wait. I will put pic's before and after the cabinet changes, hope it goes as planned ? A before pic, (mess included) started to move stuff and start but changed my mind.

  33. No problem. I owned it for about 10 years and he helped me out quite a bit when I was more into competitions and catering. He bought a Myron Mixon h2o 48" smoker a few years ago and just didn't like it. He asked about my Lang and I told him he could "store" it for me as long as I could use it when needed. He's cooked on it more in the past 3 years than I had the previous 10... He's now seriously looking into a Stumps Gravity Feed Smoker. A good friend of his has one and they've used it for the past few competitions and have loved it.....so the Lang may get a break for a while.

  39. Well this doesn't do you any good now, but never give an MOC before the check clears, it is only way they can title it in most states. I wasn't suggesting you fight it out in Ohio courts. But if you can cloud the title, or prevent the registration of the trailers with a phone call to Ohio DMV you should explore that riute, it might get you paid the quickest.

  45. Last years Leonids showers was the best meteor shower I had ever seen. I went out around 11:30 and there wasn't much going on, I went back about two hours later and it was amazing, one every couple seconds and sometimes more. It's all just a guess as far as how many will be seen, you never know. Have a new way of watching, a pole out behind the bar with 2 hooks, 2 ,more hooks on two of the back poles of the bar, it fits 2 hammocks perfectly kind of side by side (at one end). It's a very comfortable way to lay back and watch. We use to park a trailer close to the house and drag out blankets, it was not nearly as comfortable.

  48. Happy Sunday, guys. Missed ya yesterday. Did the yardwork, took better half to Denver Botanic Gardens (quite a contrast with our yard), out to dinner and joined up with local friends. Gonna hickory smoke some ribs today and a friend is going to grill some crab legs so we'll a different take on surf and turf (maybe 'pig and claws'). Hey Chuck ... don't feel too bad on the diet. I blew the hell out of mine last night with a concrete from Dairy Queen just before we came home. Chocolate Orgy or something like that. Finished the whole thing. Carbs and sugar. Blechhh. Cheers guys.
