Afternoon Gang Just back in from the Farm(s). Motion Sensor flood installed on the Barn, and im sure they will want more. The one Farmer i did the Boat project is working a deal for yet another boat. He say's Mark? Do you know Cigarettes? I ask him what kind of Cigarette? He says, the Boat! Holly cow, i had no idea a farmer would know of such a craft . I told him Yep, i grew up in Newport, i know Cigarettes, worked on them, ran them. Knowing Cigarette now makes smaller watercraft, other than the offshore one's i know so well, I figure that is what he was refering to, NOPE he states, full size with two big V8s of some kind Got it from an auction, and figures it was a drug smuggling boat. He did not say what he paid...Yet. Having it shipped here from san diego, should be in the barn next week. I just told him, well you only live once, and ask him how he stumbled across such an item? Said He was on an Auction site looking for a deal on a tractor, this came up and it was cheaper! I told him we need 4' of water min, he just says we will find some, somewhere. All of our rivers are at 2'. I told him i will work the Boat on ONE CONDITION, it's mine when he either dies or is done. He said he had no problem with that being no one else in his Grange has a clue as to this craft. :emotion-21:8 points

Upon approching the check out, (many were open and no real lines), I see this nice old lady walking toward the cashier, 10' feet to go she has, im behind her and in NO hurry. Just then out of nowhrere woman/cartfull of food, wham, right if front of the old lady and me. The old lady and i both said "Excuse Me" at the same time. She looked at us and said, im in a hurry and dont have time for lines, or snippy people who complain The cashier is like, waiting to see wich one of us is going to take this POS down This wacco then yells at the cashier, Well, are you going to do your job? and check me out? Cashier is now frozen/freaked, old lady and i are freaked, stroke of thought occurs to me, i reach past the wacco woman, and push the switch on the plug strip register/Atm, everything goes down I look at the wacco and say, NOW what you going to DO azzhole? You've covered some ground in your first post. Congratulations...and welcome to the forum. Consider the following: The music that you have identified, above, is somewhat notorious for its very bright mastering. The Chicago Transit Authority track "I'm a Man" is something that I found to be exceedingly bright and harshly mastered--in 1969 when I first heard it on some coaxial DIY speakers. I've never been able to listen to it in its entirety until recently (this year) after remastering it using Audacity so that it is much more listenable and enjoyable. The following spectrogram of the track was generated after I recovered 7.1 dB of clipping from the track. Note the areas that are pink in color, indicating a strong accentuation of midrange and high frequencies by the mastering engineers and the lack of bass. I would find this track to be borderline unlistenable due to the accentuated highs and its lack of bass. Here is the unmastering curve for that track that I applied in order to correct the excesses of the mastering done. If you use a equalizer for your rig, note the levels of EQ required in order to correct this one track -- it's a pretty significant amount of EQ: And here is the resulting spectrogram I don't think that you've got a midrange horn or driver problem. I think you've got a music problem that needs to be either EQed significantly at playback time, or unmastered once and for all to correct its extreme stridency and lack of deep bass. YMMV. EDIT: the version of this track that I used was Rhino CD R2 76171 (2002). Chris3 points

Hello all, it's been a long time since I've been in here. I've been quite sick from what I hear. It is good to be back. John3 points

Loved these videos, pilot to pilot, you should be a CFI if you are not already."Other than that, have a nice day." Duster Duty from here on out, pretty much includes the Nevada move ina year and a half too. Got gigged just last month for flying too close to SacMetro (Surounded by Farms). Fortunately, I have avoided that, known plenty that have, and listened to plenty of audio of that happening.3 points

Yaa, eh? The last two episode have just seem to drag on, and on. Maybe it is because of how netflix has us watching series, they release all at once and we watch in binges. This is what keeps my other half happy.3 points

I'm a long time fan of the Chorus II and prefer them over the Forte II because of the seemingly "extended" mid range. One thing I'd like to point out is that you have moved up quite a bit in terms of speaker sensitivity; I believe the original Heresy is 95db at 1 watt? where the Chorus II is 101db at one watt. This means bad recordings / source / equipment matches / room acoustics / speaker placement (pretty much everything listed above) become many times worse. Kind of like placing a magnifying glass over everything. You have yourself one of the finest speakers ever made by Klipsch in my opinion and well worth the time to sort things out, you will be greatly rewarded if you do. Good luck, and welcome to the forum! Jesse2 points

Hope you never lose your eyesight. Your point is well taken my friend, but most of us can tell and have sympathy for a person who is blind with a service animal, as opposed to the frauds/idiots who drag their cat through a mall, or try to bring a horse on an airplane.2 points

Well that's just sweet. You need to post some stretched face, straight back hair pics after you find a place to take that for a spin! Maybe take it to Hope next year, just a few extra memories to be made...2 points

That doesn't even take into consideration the effect that bullying can have. It's rampant with kids. I had to get involved in a situation with my youngest daughter once for just such a circumstance.2 points

I believe Chris is on the right track. Perhaps Chris could suggest a track that he knows is well mastered. As good as they are, A25s are 2-way with a tweeter and a 10" woofer, so they might tend to hide the flaws that Chris described. The Klipsch would not.2 points

Continue to keep an open mind and don't limit your sources too aggressively or you'll essentially be putting blinders on.Seek balance & accuracy. Hmmmm? I don't know what you mean? I read and follow an extremely wide range of publications on philosophy, economics, writing, art, current events and science. I don't think I have any blinders on. Sent from my SM-T330NU using Tapatalk I think what he means is, have you included any material that you would normally find repugnant - views that are contrary to your beliefs. It's easy to see yourself as well-rounded and without blinders but if all you take in is what you agree with, then you have blinders on. I think all College's should offer a course (mandatory) that requires the student to assume the antithesis of what they believe for at least 6 months. All consumption must be from the opposite point of view from which they naturally view the world. And then write a paper on the experience and whether it helped them gain a wider understanding of the world in which we all must live and get along.2 points

Actually, I'm not sure I understand why the series needed to be named. They had the Ultra series, X series, etc...what was wrong with those names? I know for sure you'll never see the brand in a hospital for sure.2 points

Terrible name. I know what they were going for, but the name was ill thought out for exactly the reason Dave pointed out. Still don't see a replacement for the Fusion 8100 in their lineup either, and have not seen anything about a proper replacement for the XDA-2.2 points

Oh my gosh, what a terrible name. "E-mersa?" For those who may not know, MRSA (pronounced mersa) is a horrible infection that literally eats skin. It's so graphic I won't post a picture of it. Google it if you want, but be warned, it's disgusting. +++ Edit: I deleted my link, thinking it might be offensive.2 points

Morning Gang Well my new Mr Crow "complete" kit came in last night. Annnnd, it's turns out to be far from complete for what i paid. So i'll be dealing with that today. There is now a guy on the Bay that is back making Kits and parts again after being gone for two years. I will be buying his "Complete" kit, and likely part out this one, hey chit happens. Farm run in awile, a little security lighting on a Barn, Farmers like motion sensor's. Went through all of the CB radios last night, all are indeed "Toast/junk", will stop by the truck stop on the way to the farm and buy a fancy new CB for the guy that wanted "one" good working unit. He does not need to know they were all junk. good thing it's "Trash Day" Taco Tuesday or Burrito morning is more like it ! Time for that second cup, good day...... :emotion-44:2 points

Happy Tuesday everyone. Cool crisp mornings here and 70's in the afternoon. I like winter in San Antonio. Looking forward to this weekend when I have some buddies over to play in the music sandbox. For now, the show must go on, or in my case, the work must get done. Ya'll have a great day.2 points

Yes, it's a Honda S2000 with a roll bar and sticky Dunlop tires. I watched a Wheeler Dealers episode where Edd China explained in layman's terms the variable valve timing of the S2000. The prior owner sold it to Mike cheap due to an inability to get the variable valve timing system to work properly after an engine rebuild. Edd found a stray bit of silicone sealant, no bigger than a finger nail, blocking an oil passage that operated the valve timing mechanism. That bit removed and it all worked flawlessly. Any suggestions, such as oil type, air induction mods, etc. or issues to avoid? He'll be floggin' this thing pretty good.1 point

I haven't looked it up yet. I bet Archie Griffith from Ohio State is one (he won two) and the other, maybe Hershall Walker, GA? +++ Edit: OK, I just looked it up. It seems I'm as good at answering the Heisman question as I am picking pre-season #1 teams. +++ The ultimate trick Heisman question would have been "how many juniors have won?" That's a trick question because the 2005 winner Reggie Bush voluntarily gave up the trophy due to the scandal of his agent giving him money and gifts, so instead of giving the trophy to someone else the winner was vacated. +++ Can you name any of the 3 Heisman Trophy winners who were picked #1 overall in the NFL draft AND are NFL Hall of Famers? The first guy won in 1956, the next guy in the '60's, the last guy in the '70's. Oj was a 1/1 is he still in HOF or that could be a trick question too, but as far as I know still in the Hall. People in Austin pretty much allknow that the Tyler Rose is a 1/1 and in the Hall So 50s, a guess, Doalk Walker.1 point
