  2. I got to spend a nice weekend with friends. It doesn't get any better than a whole lot of music, drinking, eating and fun.

  4. Right on man. I’ve been off caffeine for a year and a half. developed an occasional heart rhythm problem, nothing serious at this time; but, when doctor mentioned that sometimes it is caused by caffeine (of which i’ve historically been a heavy caffeine consumer) i quit -- cold turkey. Still get the occasional weird heart beats so it most likely wasn’t caffeine causing it; but, i’ve stayed away from it.

  5. My boss keeled over this afternoon. Heard a big crash and then remembered 15 minutes prior he had said that he was “feeling weird today.” Decided I should go check and a co-worker was walking towards his office saying “are you alright?" He was just coming to; but, still out of it. Didn’t even realize that he’d passed out. Didn’t want us to call 911; but, someone (wisely) did anyway. They checked him out; but, he refused to take the ambulance to the hospital and insisted that one of his staff drive him instead. So, his second-in-command took him. Not sure what was wrong with him. hopefully nothing serious. Life is fragile ... tell me you love me before it's too late.

  10. Ya, idk last I heard the waiting time was 2 weeks but I'm gonna tell ya what I did. I cancelled the order with this dealer I had been dealing with and just went ahead and ordered the pair I really wanted from the begining which was the 70th anniversary ones! I ordered them from a place I have been doing business with since I was a kid and bought my first pair of speakers. JBL S310's They actually gave me a very good deal. Same day shipping, I spoke to the guy he had them in stock said he was looking right at them. Place I am talking about is Onecall.com how many of you have heard of them? They are actually the same place I ordered my Klipsch subs from as well.

  11. Since I know you are in Indy, here's a few local roasters to try. Believe me, the difference between good, fresh, locally roasted coffee, and the "other stuff"...is dramatic. http://www.indianapolismonthly.com/dining-blog/indy-roasters-to-know/ PM me your address, and the next time I'm in Grand Rapids (which will be soon), I'll pick up some of my favorites, and send you a couple of samples.

  13. Morning all.....busy weekend here in NE Florida...beautiful weather led to some nice outings and a little Klipsch refurb work Took the time to take the RP-5's out of the shed and did some work on them. Got the one cabinet apart, sanded, painted and resealed. Fired them up last night (one still has a bad amp that will go to the shop this week to be rebuilt) but MAN.....these things sound GOOD....even with only one of the 12's playing it sounded great. Huge WAF going on with being able to take the RSW-12 out of the living room now....she's pretty happy....and we all know that makes things much more easy around the house. Looks like the RB-5's and RSW-12 may make it to the Man Shed for 2.1 duty.....can't say I'm too unhappy about that Decided that I'll probably never use the Quintet and Quintet SL sets that I have stored in the shed....those may need to be let go of.....

  14. Happy Monday all. We spent much of yesterday putting up 2 Christmas trees. We had our old tried and true, but some years back when we moved into this house we found another tree in a storage area left by the previous owners. Gave it to our niece. She used it once and then brought it back asking if we could 'store' it for her (like all the kids like to 'store' crap at our place). Finally decided possession is 9/10 of the law so we reclaimed it and now we have Christmas trees x 2. As soon as I reconfigure the lights on our main tree (I strung too many together) we'll be in business. Gary ... thanks for sharing a very nice Santa story with us. It is, after all, about the kids. Cheers .............

  17. As insane as it sounds, Google "Diane DeJesus". Actually, scratch that at least at work, she's kind of a former adult star. But, she literally rakes in $5 million per year unboxing these stupid Disney toys and whatnot and playing with them. She only records her hands, her boyfriend is a professional photographer and makes it look good. She has this squeaky immature voice and paints her fingernails in crazy ways, it's been described as crack for toddlers, they can't get enough of it and watch this stuff like it's a TV show. Since her story came out there has been quite the explosion of people trying to copy her business model.

  19. Aaron I really find it hard to believe in these days that a credit card would be declined and no one at Klipsch would contact the dealer. I also know that if a dealer has a credit card with a limit under 50-100K he has problems. IDK about stereo gear but with golf equipment, I had no limit as to how much I could order. I ordered 130K from TM and it was shipped immediately. I also had it set up so it billed my credit card at the end of the month, thereby entitling me to an additional 2% discount. And since I had it set up on a Chase card, I got the mileage as an added bonus. Any dealer who's credit card for 15K gets declined won't be in business much longer. Being COD is a sign of the ship sinking. Be thankful he didn't take your money and then go BK, that would be a disaster. Order your speakers through someone like MLO and have them dropped shipped to your door, I'm sure he can get the build moving along and maybe get you a better price than you originally had for all the bullshit you've been put through Now, what is the name of the dealer and his location so nobody else gets on the sinking ship and ends up getting f*cked? Help protect your forum brothers from taking it in the shorts please Mark

  30. Pride in the fact you are not a coffee drinker? Why? Coffee has been shown to benefit health in many studies. It's definitely not bad for you (in moderation of course). What IS bad for you is drinking coffee from a Keurig. That's not real coffee, that's old, stale grounds that produces mildly flavored water that comes from pods that are an environmental nightmare. JMHO, of course..... Get some good whole beans from a local roaster, grind them at home, and use a simple pour-over method. If you are not used to the caffeine kick, you might start with half regular and half decaf beans. You don't have to get as technical as these folks, but here's a link to show you the basics... Enjoy. https://www.stumptowncoffee.com/blog/how-to-perfect-pour-over

  31. Morning all. Weather has been horrendous here since last week. Saturday we set a record with over 6" of rain. We've had about 72" for the year. I went to my nephews to help him with a bathroom remodel this weekend as there was nothing I could do outside. I needed to relocate his shower valve from one side of the wall to the other. I couldn't even get to the water meter to shut it off as it was under about a foot and a half of water. I ended up shutting off the hot water at the heater and did that side. Weather man says todays the last day of it then hopefully we'll start to dry out.

  34. I didn't drink coffee until 1990 at 36 y.o. I have about 2 cups in the morning after arrival at work, don't do the all day thing like a lot of folks. Oh, and no foo foo $6 a cup crap either.

  35. I've been thinking about trying out some of this "coffee" you all seem to like so much. I only tried it a couple of times 45 years ago (I'm 53) and didn't care for it at all. I have very little caffeine, I wake up with a breakfast shake then mostly water all day. I seldom drink Sprite. My wife drinks a cup every morning and it does smell good. I"m not sure what she drinks, maybe a breakfast blend from a Keurig. I have always taken pride in the fact that I've never been a coffee/caffeine drinker, am I crazy to even consider this? What sayeth the mighty Klipsch forum?

  38. Setting your speakers on fire to win a "ugly" speaker contest is cheating! Those will be a nice addition for someone especially at that price. I'm not interested only because I don't trust CL ads with more than two photos plus the photos need to be blurry. Unless I miss my guess, these will end up in Missouri!

  40. Good morning my friends......... Chuck, sounds like you closed with a productive day and evening! Our tree goes up today! All outside lighting (new and different) completed and ON since last week... This morning, I am off on a freshly polished iron horse in these (burrrrrrrrrrr!) 30 degree temps this morning for my rider's club final event today.... Again, we raise money all year with our own 'Mystery Ride and pigroast for the 'Grey House' downtown, and provide Christmas gifts for about 35 kids... (we also donate some $$ to the Shriners) Been doing this for a number of years, local NBC station comes down and does a news story with us... We bring a Santa Clause (one of our own members), and when the weather is good (no sand and salt on streets), we take the bikes which the kids get a kick out of. We are escorted by the city's fire dept. (big hook and ladder rig) where Santa actually rides shotgun! The kids with parents are all in this livingroom in the house, Santa calls up the kids one at a time to sit on his lap, I take photos, they are handed their specific wrapped gift (shopped for and wrapped by our own members). They take the gift back to their seats/floor, and wait for a signal to open them from the director. It is really fun to watch all the reactions at the same time! Well, it only lasts a little over and hour, but it is a fun time for all involved.. When I get home, I will set up a brunch for us (my sister is living with us now, temporarily) and later, the tree decorating will begin and being that she is a pro floral arranger, I am sure it will be wonderfully done!, and thats the news from here... Enjoy your day my friends.... I'll stop by again soon.. ...........Gary
