  1. In the "What I Got Today" thread I mentioned that today was going to be a day of music and self indulgence. It begins here:

  2. For note: Good strong bungee cords will not keep a suitcase attached to roof rack of mini van at 75 mph on a freeway. The wife is not happy with me.

  4. @dtel @dtel's wife just saw this and wanted to say that i’m sorry such seemingly happy, charitable, and friendly people have to go through this. i sincerely hope this is resolved quickly and with a wonderful cure as the result. wouldn’t hesitate getting a second opinion on treatment ... not saying the first guy is wrong; but, i know some are more aggressive and some less aggressive in their treatment philosophies. i’d prefer an aggressive treatment; but, your body and your situation may call for something else. Never hurts to ask the doc a million questions. I say if i have to go through with this...go through it only once and make that trip as quick as possible. Praying for both of you of course. Some forum members are closer to each other than others -- speak up if you need help, advice, anything.

  9. Prayers and good vibes sent your way Eldon and Christy. You two seem like a great pair of people....you will get through this. The silence is a man thing, don't blame him. My wife has been going to all my doctor appointments lately, after hearing about me passing out at work from one of my employees...that didn't go well. Good luck, stay on top of him (sorry Dtel) and keep us informed.....Bill

  12. The wild temperature fluctuations could play havoc with the cherry and apple orchards. Sixty degree days in February and March, followed by freezing temps could kill prematurely emerging buds and wipe out this year's fruit crop.

  17. This really looks like it's going to be a fun topic. I really like being back into vinyl. I really haven't had this much passion / fun with music in a long time. I was for along time only interested in home theater. To be honest I really started to get back into music / analog after a get together with guys on this forum. I actually went to get a feel for Dolby Atmos. I tried at first to rig everything through my home theater processor....I hated the way it sounded...decided to pursue and buy Yamaha amp/preamp. I went out and bought the same turntable I had when I was 18. Maybe it's an interaction thing for me . Don't get me wrong I could just pop a cd into the Oppo and listen. But for me taking the record out of the sleeve/putting it on the platter doing a quick discwasher cleaning...making sure the volume on the preamp is down ...then slowly bringing it up. just seems to fit ...for me that is . Guys ....sorry I do not have anything to contribute ...spinning wise that is..... but I hopped on a plane to visit my mother....just thought I'd check in. Didn't mean to ramble on, George,

  18. Yep, we're on DST. Love the extra hour of daylight. Try to get the lost hour of sleep back tonight Spent yesterday weed whacking and hula hoeing. The good rainfall amounts out here have yielded a good crop of weeds. Today I will build some wire baskets and try to plant some new fruit trees. The baskets are to help against gophers. Wish me luck.

  19. A little over 22 miles to make the two required u-turns. Cracked but not opened. I am really glad that I wasn't in the van! I was pretty sure the bungees would hold tight and I didn't want them to attempt to manipulate the ratchet cargo straps...... It seems that perhaps I am NOT the apple of someone's eye just now.

  30. . Actually I didn't buy these for myself. Lee W came to my house a couple of weeks ago and bought a pair of Forte ll WO. He saw all of my Khorns and said if I ever decided to let a pair go to let him know. When I saw these Thursday morning in the alert section I decided to grab them for him so I contacted the seller and bought them 6 hours later. He had 3 people try to buy them out from under me showing him pics of cash or willing to buy them sight unseen using paypal. Thank god he was one of those people who gave the first responder first crack at them. They have a scuff or two on them which will come off very easy. The owner had them for 35 years and did not oil them regularly so after I remove the scuffs I will oil them and they will look brand new.
