JOLIDA JD 100A Tube CD PLAYER Mine was modded by HotRodAudioMods new and I replaced it with an Oppo BD105 to save space; probably shouldn't have; zero issues. When sold to a forum member it somehow had the tray door break off but some glue fixed that. Sold ones: https://www.hifishark.com/model/jolida-jd-1002 points

rn701, Welcome to the forum. I am sure the Forte III's are excellent speakers and are "worth" the price of entry for new. I know Quartets are excellent speakers and are "worth" the price of entry on the used market. If price/performance ratio is an accurate measuring stick, then the Quartets win hands down, no question. Coolness factor, exclusiveness, newer technology/engineering, then the edge must go to the Forte III's. Do they sound $3200.00 better than Quartets(+/-$400.00 used), only you can decide that. The only thing I can relay to you is that I've had Quartets with updated Crites crossovers and titanium tweeter diaphragms for many years...And I love the sound they reproduce be they hooked to tubes, SS or digital power... that said, I also have a pair of Chorus lls that have had the same Crites updates...they sound larger and better than the Quartets... if if all you have are your Quartets...you have an excellent set of speakers...but there is more out there...is it worth the price to step up???...only you can answer that... good of luck with your choice, Bill2 points

Keep in mind that the ENTIRE original thought process for the Belle Klipsch speaker was to create something which performed as close as possible to the LaScala, but which had much more WAF appeal, and PWK was a firm believer in the "golden mean" for aesthetics purposes. The "golden mean" drove the design of the Belle Klipsch speaker CABINET, and the more shallow depth of that cabinet required a shorter mid-horn....which was change # one from the LaScala. That same shallower depth ALSO drove the change in the depth of the folded horn portion of the speaker, and the change in that depth still had to meet the "golden mean" principle, in how the bass horn lens was limited to its WIDTH in order to meet the "golden mean", all of which basically amounted to change # two from the LaScala. Because the "golden mean" of the design could not accommodate having the tweeter ABOVE the Mid-horn in the HF section of the Belle Klipsch speaker cabinet, and still be able to have the mouth of the mid-horn lens as tall as the one on the LaScala, then the Mid-Horn lens on the Belle had to ADDITIONALLY have its lens mouth be vertically shorter...which amounts to change # three from the LaScala. Because of all the changes in everything the LaScala started out with to what had to be done to meet the "golden mean" for the Belle Klipsch speaker, then the crossover network ALSO had to be changed up...in order to provide performance as close as possible to the LaScala....which is effectively change # FIVE from the LaScala design. The entire "design parameter" process was driven by AESTHETICS...for higher WAF...and to match up with a pair K-horns with the Belle Klipsch speaker as their center channel. PWK loved music, but his love for Belle (his first wife) drove the process of creating a three-way fully-horn-loaded speaker that performed "as closely as possible" to that of the LaScala, but met the "golden mean" of furniture design as a center channel between two flanking K-horns. If one creates a "new" Belle Klipsch speaker cabinet, and the "golden mean" is not a part of the "design parameter" process, then they may as well build a LaScala, instead....just saying...2 points

That is a understatement.... I'm like the human he must be on at all times... I get some relief when our friends Ed and Joyce come over. He sit on Joyce all night... he might walk over and sit on Ed for a bit. but he mostly wants Joyce when those two are over. Been there tried that..... not going to happen... He will paw on the closed door till his paws get sore..... and it's loud in the bedroom with him pounding on the door..... We tried waiting him out to see if he would stop and almost two hours of almost non stop pawing we had to let him in. His little paw pads were all red and sore. He's just a real goofy cat.... He is a good cat..... just annoying... MKP :-)2 points

When The BOSS gets in the shop I'll have her load some up.... He's been getting on my nerves lately...... That SOB will not leave me alone.... as soon as I get home he's on me and won't sit still. He's also been waking me up early in the morning sometimes around 5:00 . He starts poking me with his paws till I wake up. He wants to get under the covers with me. That would be ok, but once he gets in he won't keep still. He keeps touching my face with his paws... it is really sweet.... but not a 5 in the morning. So I kick him out of bed and yell at him..... but twenty minutes or so later he's trying to get back in the covers. I don't like to hurt his little cat feelings but he's annoying!! MKP :-)2 points

Mods were the gang like group in England portrayed in Quadrophenia. Pete Townsend might have considered himself a mod? I forget and I've read his autobiography 2 or 3 times. Pete said it was ok!2 points

Yes it is a good idea, but the commercial heresy 201's are the size of the grille, so these are MINI boxes with 8" drivers. Since I'm local, I can arm twist and give you some more specific advice on build ding Super Heresy Cabinets if you need it beyond the thread, You would need to spend about $260 for Eminence 12" woofers. I have an extra bass port you can have for free when you come to hear the Hypex amps!2 points
