One thing to do during a hurricane that I never heard before. If you have to evacuate and come back home you wonder if the food in your freezer is safe. If the power went out for a couple days and came back on, your freezer food could have thawed and refrozen and you'd never know it. Before you evacuate, freeze a cup of water. After it's frozen, place a penny on the top of the frozen water. If it's still there when you come back, your food is good. If it's now at the bottom of the frozen cup of water, throw the food out.6 points

I hadn't heard that. Makes sense. +++ I would add to that list, take pictures of everything including audio gear and valuables. Write down serial numbers if you have them, then save the pics to an on-line drive like OneDrive (Microsoft) or iCloud (Apple). It could come in handy later for insurance purposes.3 points

Please add tips to this list. This may be someone's first storm. Save gallon jugs.....fill with water.....freeze. Will help preserve food if power fails. As it thaws use as needed. Keep fridge closed as much as possible. Fill 5 gallon buckets with water for flushing. Set up a safe place for pets away from windows. Freeze left over coffee for iced coffee later. Locate flashlights & batteries. Secure objects that could become missiles. Stock up on essential medications. Buy booze, food, water. Manual can opener. Fill bathtub. Prepare for looters. Unplug gear. Locate insurance policies and important papers. Purchase a 1 burner Coleman gas grill from Walmart for around $20. Buy propane gas. Fill your cars tank. Move to high ground away from trees if no garage. I take one of mine to the school parking lot. Good luck to all.....3 points

Or if you even favor numbers. Brady can't take pressure. If you can get past the offensive line, he quickly turns into mediocre at best.2 points

Let's just say doing the same thing over and over again has lost its allure.2 points

I actually told my wife I was looking forward to going back to work. I also told her she should have recorded that comment as she'll likely never hear it again.2 points

Yes they did. Drew Skillman and JR Todd event winners with Bo Butner winning his first round matchup. It was cool to see 3 generations of Skillmans racing. Grand dad Ray running an 8 second FS car and dad Bill running an even quicker FS.2 points

It'a always nice to get back in the groove. Even after a vacation, I look forward to getting back to work. You seem to have a positive attitude, that's half the battle, especially being so close to all that devastation. So are we1 point

For now, I agree with Brady and Brees. When Derrick first praised Brady as the best B1G qb in the pros, it made me think about who is second. Brees seems to be the correct answer. It really reminded me of how the most critical position in pro football seems to frequently reward those who were not superstars in college. Viewed from the opposite perspective, how many Heisman winning quarterbacks have been busts in the NFL? Andre Ware and Eric Crouch come quickly to mind. Naturally, agreement on the 10 best pro quarterbacks is impossible, but the 10 on the list linked below, plus Aaron Rogers, are clearly worthy of consideration, although the order might shuffle. 1a) Tom Brady; 1b) Joe Montana; 3) Peyton Manning; 4) Johnny Unitas; 5) Otto Graham; 6) Dan Marino; 7) Roger Staubach; 8) John Elway; 9) Brett Favre; 10) Drew Brees; and 11) Aaron Rodgers Probably Elway and Peyton Manning had the best notoriety coming out of big time programs, Stanford and Tennessee, respectively. Brady had success at Michigan -- a big time program by anyone's estimation -- but don't forget he platooned with Drew (couldn't hit a major league breaking ball) Henson in '98 and '99. Brady was clearly overlooked in the pro draft. Look at others on the list. Their eventual pro success was not seen at the beginning of their careers. Most were not high draft choices. What makes a successful pro quarterback is not the same as what makes a successful college quarterback. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000724524/article/tom-brady-joe-montana-head-top-10-quarterbacks-in-nfl-history1 point

That is what I keep hearing, but I thought I would see if anyone had something to say. Your opinion (which I note is free from personal attacks) Is as valid as anyone else's here.1 point

The numbers are true. However, they don't tell the story. It would not be the only low head count forum that its members fervently cared about. As Lilly in Peter Rabbit says, I know that for a fact.1 point
