Got some new toys, first pair made in natural cherry. Also got a spare set of lambswool grills with 70th anniversary logos. Listening to Ryan Adams right now, they're warmer than I expected, and drums are very nice.5 points

Unfortunately it is not in the plans for this year. I wish it was. Our daughter is still living in mom's house and we have to help her find a place and get mom's house on the market. Mom's house needs some work, don't know how much I'll be doing. I might be breaking one of my own rules and use a paint brush and roller I've always said "if it doesn't come out of a spray can or gun I don't paint" and painting is just the tip of the iceburg. Ok, while listening to Paul's suggestion, I was thinking.............hmmmmm.........this smacks of Santana.........THEN, I read what Paul said and there it is................. Willy, if you use EVOO, you WILL get the olive flavours........ second pressing is lighter and better for general use of the oil... Peanut oil seems to be NON discript and we don't get the peanut flavor............I use it for the iron griddle doing pancakes (high heat quality) and tonight used it for roasted potatoes in the oven.............we taste the sea salt, fresh rosemary and garlic, but NO peanuts.....hmmmmmmmmm.........3 points

Good grief, Mike. I stated my initial skepticism on VTOL rockets...but Musk (showboating or not) as shown it's the best approach. If you have a better idea, I'll bet he's all ears. I am not assuming you mean me concerning "condescending remarks" in that my own self image is not so high as to make any. I simply observe and comment on what I see. The future is not to predict, but to experience. Yes, I make some predictions, but that doesn't mean by any means I have faith in them. Just my thoughts based on the past and present. I am NOT a skeptic, as I see skepticism as non-objective. Prefer to be neutral. Dave2 points

True dat. But replace with what? I went through refurb'ing 2 classic DBX 4BX dynamic range expanders that I acquired off EBay. It took me 2 years in my spare time in the winter to do it. You couldn't pay someone enough to do it. I learned an awful lot. It was rewarding and fun.2 points

You answered it yourself..... We always lived in a subdivision until one time we moved to 18 acres with no neighbors in sight, can never go back now. We thought we moved to be more isolated, well it's not working, last week friends from Arkansas were here and left Monday, x brother in law came here Wednesday in his RV and plans to leave today to go back to Atlanta. He wanted to bring home some smoked meats when he leaves so yesterday he went to the store, I was a little surprised at what he bought. 4 whole Pork loins, had a fifth Pork loin ground up and bought the same weight in ground beef, mixed the beef and pork and made a big meatloaf with it and we smoked it, plus the 4 whole loins. Today he's got to pack it up to go home. Not complaining it's fun but not isolation2 points

Found a service manual online @ hifi engine. Damn them German(Swiss?) engineers are thorough, you could replicate a new unit with their documents! If you could get the parts that is Looks like WillyBob's got you a good lead. Just tell them you want all the electrolytics in the power supply and signal path changed and see what they say. Tell'em you'll even get them the parts kit from overseas if need be.2 points

take care.. you will be weak as, for a month or more after you get to feeling OK. I worked at a bowling alley in a retirement community. If I didn't see a "regular" for a couple weeks, it would lead to some awkward questions... now back to our regular programming these "junk" little R15M's are getting to sound pretty nice as they break in. They aren't bad for an entry level speaker. I'm more than impressed told the boy, the Scalas might have to live in the cottage, where he is staying. He only "home" on weekends anyway ... Subtle, huh? Things will most likely be different come Sept. Got some time to figure out where they will fit.2 points

The audio fascist is the pretentious neighbor who doesn't understand why you don't buy the expensive component he is recommending even though it costs more than you made last year. The audio socialist thinks everyone should buy Bose and wonders why audio engineers don't compress the music more to get rid of those nasty dynamics.2 points

That ad is a little suspect. First, that second picture says 'Canuck Audio Mart" which could be just an image to represent. But who cant take a picture when your representing an 800 dollar sale ? Second, click 'more ads by user' and there is quite a bit of inventory. May be legit but strikes me as odd.1 point

i heard once that Olympic athletes were asked, βif you could be guaranteed a gold medal; but, it would knock 10 years off your life, would you accept that?β Something like 85% of those asked said that yes, theyβd sacrifice 10 years of life to win a Gold Medal. So, what if coffee was indisputably proven to shorten your life by 10 years ... would you still drink it?1 point

Cartons received 2 weeks ago ! I could not change my command as exchanged, just fired the surround, the rest was already sended. So : I just love it. Thanks History Kid, I really appreciate the sound of RP280 as surround. RP450 does its job very well and don't seem to be overpass by the others. You're right, they don't play in the same class, RC-64 III would be probably better but I'm waiting to hear the difference before changing.1 point
