  2. I have had mayo and ketchup mixed, I like it but I like both ingredients. Actually that is a standard mix most places use on those little party sandwiches, but very thinly. Had some smoked chicken last night and was dipping the chicken in a mixture of ketchup, Sriracha about 50/50 with a little salt, my wife just looks at me funny. But that's not anything new, she just shakes her head.

  3. Morning #3 with no beans for drip coffee anywhere in the house. I've been getting up and making double espressos for myself then off to the gas station up the road for giant paper cups of mediocre joe for my sleeping beauty. I thought by now I'd have her hooked on espresso. Time to go grocery shopping...more likely Costco. Dare I make a pot of drip with my "good" beans? Oh the humanity!😨

  6. I do this with a photographer friend, comparing pictures. He will come here with his girlfriend for a week and before he leaves he gets a copy of my pics and I get a copy of his. This way we both have time to compare, besides the daily as they happen pics, it is quite a learning experience and has helped just to see how other see things. One other cool thing about being with a photographer is he has some cool lenses. He also uses Nikon so he will say go try this and hands me a lens, sometimes it's something I would never buy since they are expensive and very limited in what they can do like a 10mm. We were all on a trip together and just hanging out at a cabin in the mountains and he handed me a 10mm, this is one of my pics.

  7. Nice picture by your son Marvel, cute little girls. Was looking on the hard drive for a pic and found this ODD one from 08. I took this because the illusion reminded me of when I was a little kid and my grandfather would take me to his barber sometimes when he went. The barber shop had large mirrors on the wall behind you and in front of you so you got this illusion and it fascinated me as a little kid. This was in a cabin on vacation in 08.

  10. You have already had me looking at shakers in the past and buying American Honey. I gave up on the shaker thing but since then my oldest daughter tried the honey and liked it. So like she tends to do she went out and bought every brand whiskey that had honey it it for me to try. After we tried all of them over time, the original you brought ended up being the best tasting one.

  12. I'll refrain from comment ... Not being a fan of ketchup or catsup, anything has a chance of improving it. Buy it? ... I don't think so. where's my coffee? ... hold the mayo and catsup!

  25. I have a pair of Chorus II’s that sound fantastic - I use them believe it or not for rear surrounds with my original K horns up front - for the money and the footprint, I don’t think there is a speaker in existence that can give you the sound or power handling capacity as well as the sensitivity that the Chorus II’s provide!!!

  28. They are planning to have the new production facility up and running in Sept. of this year. Approx. $600 for a single 300B...They should be making them within ten minutes of where I live. Bruce ------- It is my distinct pleasure to announce that the WE 300B electron tube will re-enter production this year, in time for its 80th Anniversary. The famous triode was developed at Bell Labs in 1933 in the form of its predecessor, the 300A, which was modified, patented, and then produced at many historic works facilities beginning in 1938. The 300B has journeyed from the original New York tube shops, to the legendary Hawthorne Works, Allentown Works, Kansas City Works, then the Huntsville Works. The sparkling new tubes that will roll off the line this September will be assembled here in Rossville, Georgia at a new and reimagined electron tube works facility. Furthering our commitment to manufacturing excellence, we are installing new hydrogen reduction ovens, automated cathode cleaning lines, new laser welding systems, a state-of-the-art water deionization plant, and an updated testing system with improved accuracy. However, the 300B will still be manufactured from its original tooling and assembly specification standards. Although we’ve invested in a modernized production line, many of its aspects will of course remain true to tradition. For example, the core material, the so-called “secret sauce” embedded in each cathode is derived from an original Hawthorne Works 1963 melt. Western Electric’s attention to each delicate detail and historic promise of quality place the WE 300B in a category of its own. The new 300B’s will be priced at a reasonable rate of $1299 per matched pair or $599 for a single. They will also be available in quads and octets. Each tube ships with our peerless 5-year limited warranty starting September 1, 2018. By internal estimates, this is a conservative timeframe we can easily achieve, barring any unforeseen setbacks. A complex process like this involves many moving parts—literally—and we appreciate your patience. In addition to announcing the availability of the 300B, I’d like to share some of our adventures in product development. Continuing our 80th anniversary celebration of the 300B, we are unveiling a new single-ended amplifier called the 91E, as an homage to its famous predecessor the 91A, first introduced in 1936. The 91E embodies a new proprietary Class A2 parallel feed current source topology (patent pending), combined with toroidal output transformers, and microprocessor controlled automatic bias. It will achieve in excess of twenty watts per channel—a never before realized level of performance for the 300B in a single-ended circuit. Be on the lookout for a limited edition monoblock set of this amp topology called the 91C Metropolis. Only 500 of these beautifully designed 300B amplifiers will be available! Stay tuned! 30. Perhaps most famously, the astronaut Alan Shepard had Meniere's Disease. That's why he was grounded before getting a Gemini assignment. He had experimental surgery for it, was cured, and then was gunning for Apollo 13. NASA brass had him swap flights with Apollo 14 since he didn't have enough training yet. So, Al Shepard commanded 14 and walked on the moon. Because he bumped other astronauts by injecting himself into the rotation, he ticked off a bunch of those other guys.

  31. I don't see any "insiders click" with the museum and I have no doubt they would love to see much more participation from forum members as well as those outside the forum. What I see is the museum needs supporters and in thanks they are trying to recognize and thank those supporters and encourage others to join and not just be bystanders if you care about what they are trying to accomplish then please help them any way you can. Bottom line for me is the museum is about PWK and his life and accomplishments and is for those who want to see this preserved. miketn

  35. Yes Christmas 2010, we went up there for 10 days and we got very lucky, it was the first time it snowed there for Christmas in like 50 years, we were snowed in for 3 days. This was a cabin we found with a great view, about 10 minutes from dollywood so you know what area, not that we went, never been. We brought food to cook so being stuck for 3 days was no problem, the driveway was pretty steep and no way to drive on until it was plowed. My wife's birthday is 12-25 and the kids also wanted to go so we rented a cabin for 10 days.It was supposed to snow but we didn't know when or how much, it came down.

  36. think I said something like that the other day. some days, that is as good as it gets. we have similar problems with getting assistance from the sheriff out here. It take a minimum of 1/2 hour for them to show. By that time, whatever it was, is well over. And then they wonder why we take care of problems ourselves. if we need immediate help, we need to feign smugglers at work ... then the BorderPatrol will come.

  37. Listened to Art Bell many times, I think he earlier shows was called Coast to Coast and it started mostly for truckers but caught on to a much bigger audience. If i remember the story correctly ? Love listening to paul Harvey as well, we would always stop what we were doing to listen to "The rest of the story", no one was better.
