  6. Haha ... same here (OK; 16 ft from the wall ). Maybe I'll try it next time my wife goes on a trip

  7. I just tried the cardas calculation and it wants me to pull the speakers 7ft from the rear wall and 4ft from the side walls which would put the speakers a couple of ft in front of me. Am i supposed to feel like i'm getting a lap dance from the singer?

  8. I just did this very same thing with my Chorus II and Chorus. I've always had them in the corners facing either right in front of me or right behind me. A few days ago I tried both speakers 15" from the rear wall and facing directly forward and about a foot from the side walls and i'm loving the sound right now. I feared loss of bass but that's not the case at all. I do remember a review way back that I don't recall completely, but it was a Forte I or II review and he found the best position was facing directly forward as well instead of toed in like most recommend. I'm going to try that cardas room calculator when I get a chance. Thanks! Waiting on my hate em or love em Titanium mid diapghrams that you have in your Cornwall IIIs.

  9. Update on postioning CW IIIs so about 3 months ago as you guys are aware I bought a pair of CW IIIs and started with the usual postioning of corners, back wall placement and although things were amazing something still wasnt right So after asking here for advice on placement which I recieved in droves, "thanks guys" I tried many many more postions and still something was missing Eventually I went to the cardas website and used the room calculator and postioned the speakers to the exact mm and wow the difference was astonding Now I know im lucky and can do this placement because I have a dedicated room and most people have a C&C "Commander & Chief" that wont let this happen in your homes but if you can give it a try then do because its well worth the time and effort I actully bought my C&C in to the room blind folded and let her listen and she thought I had put the speakers in a bigger room lol Mind you I did take her around the house first blind folded to throw her off lol Also after reading the review and listening to Peter Mcgraths interview with sterephile on how he sets up wilson speakers and what demo track he uses which is Christy Moore's track. "So do I" McGrath explains what you should hear whilst listening and the CW IIIs in the Cardas placement nailed the description Below in the photo is where my CW IIIs now sit and also the album cover and track detalis Also the link for the interview so you can hear what McGrath describes https://www.stereophile.com/content/wilson-audio-specialties-alexia-series-2-loudspeaker Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk

  11. Coffee @ 0400 up early to mount a new OTA TV antenna in the attic before it became a kiln. Trip to the dump with excess pallets and cardboard while the wife took to the base golf course driving range. Picked up a pork shoulder. Never cooked one; a new challenge for the pellet grill. Cleared two codes from the wife's 2007 Honda mini van. P1717 RVS Switch (shifter selection switch) and P16C4 (engine mount control solenoid open) . Both set at the same time which is curious. She called and reported Transmission fault text and flashing "D" shifter light. It is after noon and 9 hours into the day...cocktails.

  12. In the absence of Thai Burapas, Serranos are my "goto" pepper for most things. My family is used to my old comment "This is superb...only thing that would make it better is a Serrano." But, I note they are dumbing down even Serranos now to where I refer to some of them as 'Green Peppers with a bit of attitude." Dave

  27. Lol thats what I thought when I calculated it, it looks weird but try to get past the fact that they are so close the placement is designed to eliminate all room nodes Try and follow exact placement and then listen, for me the sound is more important than aesthetics but thats just me Give it go and then you know if you can live with the placement Good luck Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk

  28. Lol we do wire our klipsch speakers out of phase because we know they play loud with zero distortion so by the time you guys in the U.S hear what we are playing when we crank the volume up its then in phase [emoji16] Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk

  29. Well if you've only visited one high end retailer in a decade, then don't be so sure. ..I've been to dozens and I've seen MANY very large speakers. This includes the TOL Wilson, JBL Synthesis Everest, TOL McIntosh, Dynaudio, Vandersteen 5A's and so on. ..Each of these speakers was as large (or nearly) as Klipschorns, but EVERY ONE was significantly more attractive or at least had far better fit/finish. Not ONE of these stores had a Khorn. As for the Big Heritage "destroying everything in the store". ..I do hate that sort of hyperbole. The speakers I mention above are fabulous speakers even if I might prefer the Klipschorns. "Destroying" does not apply in audio unless you're comparing a modern day high-end ystem to, say, a wind-up Victrola.

  32. First of all, congrats on the LS II's! I've only seen 4 or 5 on the used market, so however you got them, you did good. Something for you to consider: You have obviously put a lot of thought and invested some money in room treatment. I see you have an audio rack between your speakers. Three days ago Paul McGowen of PS Audio made the point there should be nothing between the speakers due to unwanted reflections. I saw another video recently backing up the same idea but I can't find remember where I saw that one. Take a look at Paul's vid, see what you think.

  34. Well, yeah...Tomatoes and other common things are just, well, common....Not to dis anyone, but damn, why grow jalapenos or serranos when I can get them for .99 cents a pound at the store? I love growing things that other folks might not have thought of or done, and we love doing things to give them away and try new recipes. We put the peppers in our green beans and pickles, and make hot sauce....and we send peppers to our friends for their own recipes.

  37. I accidentally bit into a very special Thai pepper when I was having a bowl of Tom Ka Gai in a restaurant in Bangkok. I had to get up from the table, leave the restaurant, find a glass of milk and some ice, and walk around for about 15 minutes....The waitress thought I was having a stroke.....I will never forget it....

We would hate to steer you toward something your not happy with, but we think it's a safe bet. know nothing about this hobby in New Zealand, are subs popular ? Some people like them, some would never use them, just wondering.

  42. At one time we grew alot of vegetable plants for sale in the spring, we started the seeds around new years in a non heated greenhouse. Without a greenhouse they can be started around March inside and when they make leaves move them by a window for sun just to keep them slightly growing, they will really not take off until outside and it gets hot, but you won't be so far behind in May. They love the heat If protected from frost overwinter what Carl is doing works well, they really take off when it gets hot because they already have enough roots to support a full plant, this really helps speed things up. It's good to not reuse seeds from the plants you grow more than one year, each year the plant moves a little further away from what the specific type was. If each year you save some seeds from the new plants eventually around 3-4 years you have a plant that does not resemble the original at all. They revert back to something in the past bloodline which is usually not very desirable for taste or looks. One year is normally OK for this, then start over with good seeds, I have even seen this for what I have grown as ornamentals, they lose all the traits they originally had.

  45. In my opinion Kilpsch absolutely ruined the Klipschorn's aesthetics when they redesigned it and eliminated the inset collar that was the hallmark of the old "B" style. Now there's just an empty space between the bottom of the top hat and the top of the woofer that looks like someone forgot to screw down the top hat all the way on the woofer. The least they could have done would have been to eliminate that space so the friggin' thing doesn't look like someone forgot to finish assembling it. THE dumbest thing Klipsch ever did. If I ever found myself once again in a home that could accommodate Klipschorns I would look for an older pair of "B" style ones and update them to current standards—I would NEVER buy the ones Klipsch currently sells, they just don't look like Klipschorns any more, never mind looking like a $12,000 pair of speakers. P.S. I wish I had a nice photo of the B-style K-horns I owned from 1978 to 1992. Bob Moers personally picked out the veneer sheets for the woofer fronts (they reminded one of a Georgia O'Keefe painting, if you get my drift) and he and PWK both autographed the labels. Over the years I re-oiled them with 6 or 7 coats of Casey's TruOil (what Klipsch used at the factory at the time) until the finish really glowed.

  48. That's exactly why I loved my 928... That supercharged 302 in the nose was fantastic. Left Indy one year and was headed down to Gatlinburg about 630 after laying over for the nite somewhere... Cruise set @ 110, hole in the roof open, jammin and enjoyin the beautiful morning... Came to a cut thru the hills somewhere, hit the curve runnin harder and BOOM there was a Statie who hit me w/radar cause my detector went off... I didn't know what to do so I waved and smiled at the guy... I was havin the big one til he smiled and waved back! I was glued to my mirror and runnin 70 for about the next 20 miles. I couldn't believe it! I felt the cuffs and saw the hook for 10 minutes... Not to mention my checkbook...
