  2. Yes, but no pics. & I thought you were going to upgrade your "Fort". I think if you go there willingly it ceases to be the doghouse! If you had gone that way you could get the spl of the LS in the house maybe. I get it! & the better half can be challenging at times! My pc now is almost as good a sound as a regular stereo now... so I'm in remission now!

  3. did you see the price on them?...$375 And they will easily fit in the little car, w/o breathing hard... especially after squeezing those LS in it. Convincing the wife I need them... that may be a bigger trick than getting the LS in the car. That and finding a place in the house to set them. This house is only ~900sq/ft and housing the LS The RP600Ms are in a room [building] of 140sq/ft. TBH I'm quite happy with the gear I have. The price is what I found so attractive on the Fortes

  11. the "doghouse" was called that before I set up shop in it. There was an old lady living in there when we bought the place. She went by the name Coyote.... I go out there to listen to music when the wife is home. She sez I can listen to music in the house. My response is always "No, I can't". I typically listen "at volume"... unsecured items fall off shelves

  12. Alright Dave, this is the edited version of what I've never had related to that CCC talk. The ten minute one I won't post, it's nsfw.

  13. Making models feel at ease while being nude or near-nude (the model, that is, not the photographer, except in special cases) is made easier by being out of the model’s dating age range, i.e., much older, and by choosing lenses that keep you out of the model’s comfort zone, typically ten feet/3 metres or so. The perspective is often better from that distance, anyway. It also helps to belong to a local group of photographers, models, and makeup artists. It makes both the shooter and the model feel more confident at the start of the shoot, because her reputation within the group, and yours, too, plus the MUA, if needed, is known in advance. That way, if the shooter misbehaves (acting creepy towards the model, etc.), or the model is troublesome (frequently flaking, stealing stuff from your place, etc.), word gets around quickly, and that person will be getting few or no bookings in future, or be kicked out of the group. Luckily, this has happened only once or twice. In my case, it took a while to find a like-minded group of enthusiasts. First, I joined the local camera club, who shot mostly birds, flowers, and landscapes. Not really for me. Then I put together the requisite set of pro-quality pictures, applied, and was accepted into the Professional Photographers Association of British Columbia (the PPABC, not the bigger PPA, the Professional Photographers of America). There was a lot of learning opportunities there, but their emphases were making a profit and shooting portraits and weddings, none of which really appealed to me, so I left after a few years. Finally, a model suggested that I should join Model Mayhem, an online photo group, so I did, and posted some pictures. Then, I was contacted by a local shooter, and was asked to join a local Facebook photo group. Finally, I had found a group of photographers, models, and makeup artists, who shared my photo interests. It felt like coming home. That process took a number of years. I wish I’d known about that last group in the first place, but Facebook has only been around since 2004, so the group was just getting past it’s early phase then, so it worked out in the end.

  14. I just can't believe those are still here. My LS are RB and I love the look, my Heresy are OW and look great but I wanted RB to match my LS. Too late now and too far from Ohio or I'd own them and off my OW. I think too many people have gotten burned on things they pick up o/l so they're hesitant to buy anything anymore. Sad they don't get the "family/brotherhood" MOST of us have in here. Great price for a fantastic speaker Bill.

  15. Ok, I'm gonna be outta likes shortly so consider yourselves liked. I'm on pot #2 this morning and it's now noon here. Bookmarked the link but I want the "secret" link he's got stashed... hahaha You guys can line up all the wimmen you like but since I think outside the box my approach is a bit different. Shooting sports and auto racing for almost 30 years I had my own battle plan. Ya always have those guys with signs and yelling "Show me you cacas" at the race so I took it a step farther. I'd toss the camping chair down about 30 - 40 yards down the road from them w/my 3 or 400/2.8 on. Worked EVERY time. Best darkroom art on the planet! Carry on!

  16. Upgradeitis??? I'm stumped. Two days of over thinking about this receiver and where it's gonna go in my line up. I'm back to square one and going to go with my original idea of the shelves under the butcher block and building my shelves. It may work under there but we're talking one inch or less clearance. I'm totally outta room. I want a nice SS system and the Mac/Heresy sound of the early 80's but... Coffee is brewing so maybe that will help. Hit Jam Night Friday and Scotty the bass man picked up a new bass, which sounded fantastic. He's a great guy and can run with the best. Toured with Foghat and several other groups back in the day. He's good and I mean good. Zero tone controls with only a kill switch on it. Funny watching him go but what a great sound. We were laffin our rears off discussing my 75th Bday bash in a couple years. It's in the early planning stages right now. Hope I'm around to pull it off. 😂. Wait, did I just fire up another pot of coffee? lolol

  20. Could be you've maxxed out your allowed amount of Gb here. You might check out https://postimages.org/ You can use their site as a host or get the small app for your computer. I found it right clicking on photos here. When I heard the Heresy II at a friends place I knew I could have some Klipsch for myself. Tight, in your face sound pressure for less than a grand. Knew the Khorns I'd heard were too much $$ for me. Ordered H IIs a couple weeks later.

  21. The term Karen should have been coined by a wedding photographer. F'in' crazy wimmenz.....and their mothers!!!! Unbelievably uncooperative and demanding. I walked out on a couple. There was a clause in the contract that the deposit could be forfeited should it become impossible to work for them. And they wondered why it cost so much. Wasn't enough in most cases. I fully understood that it was a huge life event and should I screw the pooch there were no retakes. And I was good at it. However it just became unbearable as time went on. I just began pricing myself out of the competition so I could walk away w/o issue.

  22. When I was gonna buy another pair of LS. Wife sez, "You already have some of those" I don't have any of these... and are closer than the nearest supermarket. I drove cross-country to pick up my LS. I was planning the trip before I bought them, though.

  28. Almost midnight. My teenage son came downstairs and told me he could feel the bass of my music while lying in bed. The volume of my 12wpc Leben Hifi is at 9 o'clock. Anybody telling the Heresies don't have enough bass should come to my home! Go Go Penguin, A Humdrum Star Edit: Is there a server problem? I can't upload a picture. Instead I get a wrong warning about file size

  31. Cool @sunburnwilly believe Ozzy's got more R&R left in him even with that infamous slur now. Kids at the show did not know Black Sabbath? pitiful. Priest either? so sad Halford aged worse I think, he doesn't finish what he's singing there. Glad he's not in his chaps like when I saw him! Saw both their bands twice before 1980. Heavy and relentless back then! But heck I woke up sometime in the last decade feeling/looking like I'd been beat with a BIG ugly stick so we all get older I guess.

  34. Thanks for the comments! I am still hoping someone will take these on as a fun project. I just realized I bought a pair of your Heresy HIP's yesterday in person - well met, fellow Vermonter and Klipsch fan! I just signed up here but have been a Klipsch fan for 20+ years. You have some incredible speakers, and I'm sure you've forgotten more about Klipsch speakers than I've ever learned. See you around, and thanks again.

  36. for some reason, they do air-to-air combat training over "town". All I can figure, it gives them a marker so they don't infringe on Mexican air space.... But, yeah, when they give the planes the juice, it can get very loud. I prefer the A-10s to the supersonic models. You can actually see them. I have been driving and seen an A-10's face in my rear view mirror. Yes... there is a minimum altitude.... the ground

  38. Terrific price for what appears to be New Old Stock. But they're improved also! Having lived in Orange, Volusia & Brevard counties in the 90s I would have driven down for these if I could have. GLWYS!

  39. This guy is squirrely AF. I've made a deal with him not once, but twice and he's backed out both times. The first time he said he'd decided that he just couldn't part with them and the second time he told me he had given them to his son.
