  1. Yeah, the fecal transplant concept. You'd need to be mighty sick before signing for that... That reminds me of the old joke about the prison camp. The Commandant has all the prisoners marched out and formed up in rows. Once everybody is in place, he yells out, "Today is the day to change underwear!" Prisoners: "YAY!" Commandant: "!st Row, you change with 2nd Row! 3rd Row, you change with 4th row!" Prisoners: "BOO!!!"

  4. So are there lots of shroom pickers? And do they have to fly them in, or do enough Americans step up to do the job? I suspect it's the latter.

  5. So, did anyone watch the Coronation of King George, err, King Charles the Third, on early Saturday morning? I'm not a royalist in any way, but I thought it was a historic occasion, so I'd take a look. I was impressed with the quality of the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) sound, especially when it came to the choir singing in Westminster Abbey. With the rear La Scalas complementing the front ones, it was a very cool immersive experience. I would have thought that with recording an event like that, which started outside, in pouring rain, no less, and then moved inside, that we'd be lucky to hear it in decent 2-channel sound, but it did seem to be in 5.1, and it gave me an appreciation for choral music that I didn't have before. In a first for Westminster Abbey, there was a gospel choir, consisting of 8 Black folks, 6 men and 2 women, dressed in immaculate white suits (one lady wore a long white dress) that made nearly everyone but the King and the top Church officials look very drab. The choir stood in a circle facing each other, on the floor in the area just in front of the pulpit, which was part of the large area in front of the altar. They just sang one song, mostly Alleluia repeated, but it sounded really fine. What made me laugh was the faces on the crowd behind them, most or all from the House of Lords and their spouses. They actually looked offended, like "Just who thought of bringing this kind of music to the Abbey?" It just might have been their King, so they might need to adjust their attitudes. Finally, the Scottish football fans at a Celtics-Rangers football match gave a rousing song to express how they felt about the Coronation. I think you'd have to be there in person to get the full effect of tens of thousands of massed voices raised in song for the occasion. Luckily, I was able to find it on YouTube. Here it is, for your listening pleasure:

  6. Had the tea once. Not even enough to fill a 8oz teacup. I stayed away from my buds the rest of the weekend! That was it for me... and we were all heavy-duty back then. It kicked our butts.

  7. Thus the expression, "Technicolor yawn"? That's not an experience that ever needs to be heightened in any way.

  8. I hear the this is more like medium-strength acid, or "The Cid", like the famous Spanish knight, just to sound more sophisticated, or maybe just to let you know it's not just a cid, like any old cid, but THE CID. That's what I heard a long time ago, anyway.

  9. Not thinking you'd want to bite them. Peyote buttons. Far more potent than psilocybin. And you will vomit....likely while you are very high.

  10. Is there a statue of limitaions ... Fifty years ago I was known to have partaken of some mescaline... several times. That was from peyote that was dried, ground up and put in capsules. Between that and a bunch of windowpane, I had a few crazy years. NEVER had a bad trip/experience, but I attribute that to my laid back personality. I wouldn't want to risk doing anything now.

  11. I didn't watch the coronation. ---------------- I have heard of passing the buzz along by drinking the trippers urine. But, not psilocibin. A European mushroom, that is actually, mildly poisonous. What I heard... the poison gets broken down and not the hallucinogen part I still wouldn't have gone for it... I was pretty wild... I did draw the line somewhere... way before we get to drinking urine

  12. I watched most of it and I liked the music and compositions too! Felt like I was watching a bad mashup of Game of Thrones mixed with LOTR. The music stood out, definitely!

  21. That's actually pretty close. Never seen it translated to film/video with such accuracy. The book by Ken Kesey, 'One flew over the cuckoos nest', later the movie, was written when he was working as a night watchman at a psychiatric hospital. He participated in government tests for LSD research. They thought it wore off by the time he left in the afternoon, but he was still tripping when he went to work. He tore up his already written pages and started over.

  23. Update: I found a post in another forum along with photos that clearly showed the Avid 100 DID come from the factory stuffed to the gills with fiberglass insulation. Even though I've tossed the fiberglass and replaced it with polyfill albeit with 1/2 the volume and the woofer is NOT the factory woofer, I'm going to stuff each one back up to the full 16oz. of polyfill, because it's too late to recover the fiberglass! Thanks for the recommendations; I've only peered inside two speakers in my life; a Mission bookshelf speaker which I don't recall having ANY material inside, and my Heresies which only has that sheet of foam surrounding the woofer. Kinda confuses someone, know what I mean?!

  32. Her name is Noelle. She belongs to my elderly neighbor but she hangs out in my yard most of the time that she’s out of his house. Unfortunately, he fell off a ladder and broke some ribs earlier in the week so she’s been hanging out at our place more than usual. His daughter texted me last night and asked if I’d seen his cat. Apparently she(the cat) ran out the door while the ambulance was there. The daughter and granddaughter are supposed to be coming by later today to see if they can get her back inside.

  38. @MicroMara wise beyond your years brother. Had to have a lil chat w/a local auctioneer this morning. Since I'm outta room I saw 6 old "Peaches" wooden album crates from the early 70's full or partially full. So I'm thinking buy them cheap, dump the vinyl I didn't want and use the crates for some of my stuff. Yup, the guy was a full blown Harley dude and had his system somewhere. I eyeballed the terrible picture and "SHE" had Audio Technica listed. I couldn't see what the speakers were from the photo. Sooo, I buy one partial crate of some old country in it for 29$. The other 5 crates sold to some guy in Florida for 180 and up. Yes it's crazy here too. Few photos to eyeball so naturally I just blew that off and bought the cheapest one for the crate. Today I picked it up w/an almost new Cuisinart air fryer I snagged for 60$. Yay me right? WRONG! Lil pair of R-15M, center, sub & speakers went for 160. Prolly a good thing I didn't buy them. I'm sooo outta room. Now I'm thinkin bacon in the morning. Gotta stay positive. 😂 @grasshopperthe ribs were great along w/a couple containers of butt he had on a smoker. Think I'll road test the air fryer w/the pork in a bit maybe. May as well slime that oven up a bit. Fusion cuisine huh? 70's today and that's the REST of the story!
