  12. I clean my pipes using hot water and hydraulic pressure. A piece of pliable rubber tubing to the faucet ... maybe that will work ... or not Grounds can get in by spillage into the reservoir and eventually passed the filter. I see astuff collecting on the "spray head". Maybe it get drawn back in? Me and 5 gallon buckets of stuff. back when I was a kid, 5 gallons of mortar dragged me across/down expanded metal. Not too long ago, I was hauling roof coating up a ladder and I cut myself on the very safety device that was to prevent such things. Thursday, I had 2] 5 gallon buckets of compost. Set one down and I shifted to balance ... right into a piece of metal. 3 inch cut. I should have gone to the clinic for some stitches ... they don't take walk-ins ... I think they might have made an exception for a trail of blood. Didn't have time for all that. Cleaned and dressed it myself, then drove to Sasabe. The clinic was closed when we got home ... It's gonna leave a scar. Meh

  15. Back again for the battle of the RF double 8's! RF-3 II v RF-5 Speakers:Klipsch RF-3 II and Klipsch RF-5. Room:Living room with 9' sloping to 16' ceiling Electronics: Emotiva USP-1 preamp, Rotel RB 981 power amp, dell laptop. Demo Songs: Stevie Ray-Chitlins Con Carne / Pink Floyd-Time / Electronica - in the end RMX / Sarah Bareilles - She used to be Mine When balancing the SPL's, the RF-3's needed a slight level increase, which tracks given the stated 98db v. the 99db of the RF-5's. The bass extension between the two was not noticeable with the demo songs I used. So the 37hz response on the RF-3's did not sound any less than the 34hz on the RF-5's. I'm sure if you measured it they would measure differently, but when using my ears, there was no noticeable difference. There was some difference in the mid...as should be expected with the different crossover points. (RF-3 1975hz v RF-5 at 2500hz) I felt that the RF-3's sounded a bit more welcoming in that area. The treble was noticeably different with the RF-3's being more defined and the RF-5's being a little more airy and open, but not as good with the imaging. I did the test both flat and with my "Klipsch Sizzle" eq setting. (Significant SPL reduction on the upper end) Flat, both speakers are a hard pass for me in a stereo setup. I'm sure they are fine with home theater, since most of the content is handled by the center and sub. With my eq settings applied, they became much more listenable. However, not my cup-o-tea. I would recommend them for the college age kid who loves to jam the music loud and is not to worried about catching all of the fine detail in a well recorded track.

  16. So I opened up the NAK and confirmed that FF and REW work. When pressing play, I can hear and see a motor engage, but I don't see the hubs on the cassette rotate. One motor operates REW and FF functions. The play motor does engage and I see a belt turning a large weighted pulley however the hub does not engage the tape. Will need to look further. I do not see remanents of any broken belt inside the unit.

  17. Likely a drivebelt broken over that length of time. If comfortable would pull cover to verify unplugged. ToReplace from a belt kit. A hair tie or better replacement found at local Ace. Clean any belt residue and make certain belt not too loose or tight.

  18. Years ago I used Wendell Fabrics here in my state to source both the black and cane klipsch fabrics. Price was very reasonable and they were pretty much an exact match. I emailed Wendell Fabrics the other day and they replied back asking what model/version of fabric that I had ordered, which I do not recall. Has anyone else ordered from Wendell recently and know what the the model numbers for their Klipsch fabrics or know of another source that does not charge $100+ a yd? Thanks in advance

  23. I gave uo on mine. Cleaned it again yesterday after eyeballingreservoir a few more youtube videos. If ya go nosin you'll see what I mean. Ppl are showing grounds in the hot water arm that's in the brewer lid. It just supplies hot water so I'm shaking my head. How'd they get in there? The only way would be thru the fresh water system that goes thru the heating element. Then it's up, out the arm w/the sprayer nozzle on it. How it ends up in a flat arm there I dunno. Should it turn on the clean light? Seriously? Makes no sense. Maybe the arm is full or something. The back up of the flow might trigger the clean cycle light. Saw one viedo where the guy broke his and trashed it trying to remove the arm. Said it was glued. Another guy said they were just tight coming apart. Be a cold day before I break a 200$ coffee pot.l Nope, not blowing/sucking it either. Don't even go there boys cause I ain't bitin! Run 'er til she quits cause if that arm up there is full of grounds that vinegar isn't gonna touch it. lol

  24. I have a Cuisinart machine, also. This is the 2nd one. First one I got at a resale [or maybe it was the dump lol]... I wonder about the clean me light. Is it set to come on after a number of cycles or ???? Mine's blinking at me. I need to get some vinegar. In the meanwhile ... it still makes coffee. I take yours has cut you off? I've been sipping this Pendleton Whisky for a while now. It is smooth. But when does smooth move into blah? I have a little Woodford Reserve, still... it was some zip, aside from 5% more alcohol I'm going to hell ... two on-topic comments in one post

  27. It happens very often if the oil filter is tightened too much, especially in cold weather like the single digit temps we’ve had. BUT, I have to admit that my assessment was wrong! I put a piece of cardboard under my Jeep last night and it was dry this morning. I checked the oil level, perfectly fine. I took a paper towel to the spot on the driveway and it had a dark red hue to it - transmission fluid! Ironically that’s actually a good thing! My wife’s Wrangler had a transmission fluid leak that we had fixed a little over a week ago. We got some snow a few days ago and after it melted it made the spot in the driveway look like a fresh leak. So, we’re still going to take my Jeep and I’ll bring a couple quarts of oil just to be on the safe side (which I think is a good idea on any road trip).

  31. That is the reason I asked the brand. In the USA it is not common to stop at a hardware store and buy a Gum glue. Since Gum refers to a sap typically (Gum Arabic, Mastic, Dragon tears, Amber...) just not commonly found over here. As a violin maker, working with various types of varnish, these are common materials, most of what my adhesion is made up from, and I ?might? have a bottle of PVA here somewhere. The only Gum Glue I did find on Amazon US is 91% water and 9% Polyvinyl Alcohol, not Polyvinyl Acetate such as Tite Bond. There are many white glues out there, some PVA, some Casein based, and some of variations on the themes. From what I "could" find, the Studymate gum glue is most likely based on Mastic, and or Gum Arabic, the MSDS does (Will) not say. It works! and others say PVA does too. As long as it can be removed without damaging the vinyl, I say go for it! Heck maple syrup should work a little, just be sure to get it washed off well, I do not think the stylus would like the change in velocity. Dried Syrup would surely rip that stylus out in a heart beat. Silly putty!, Auto body clay, so many things that could be pressed into a groove and attach to the dust, lifting it out.. works for me! A nice wash will also do a lot to remove the dirt and grime, and of course that opens the barn door to the obvious chemicals and degrading the vinyl. With the advent of the more sensitive cartridge and stylus, we do want to clean and preserve our collection, preserve the stylus from hitting the potholes in the road, so it makes perfect sense to experiment with new ideas on how to clean, and follow that path of "Discovery" of what works the best for you. It is just as important to do a good preen after playing that album, good sleeves and proper storage. Just my thoughts here and a big thank you to @Full Range for the tips and advice here today. Good stchuphff! dewalt-gas-pressure-washers-dxpw61156-64_1000.avif

  35. No, he probably tries to deal with people who need the items shipped to them then he can talk them into sending monies on the chance they might receive the product. He would probably just ignore anyone local that wants to come and see / hear the speakers. Some of these people are very convincing I had a guy talk me into selling to him out of state we talked on the phone for 20 minutes he obviously knew about stereos and speakers and a lot about Klipsch specifically, could have been a member here. Kind of a red flag when the check shows up for $7500 for a pair of $900 speakers and he wants me to give the guys picking up the speakers the difference? I was like yeah no, sorry bud.

  41. All, I was wondering what the general consensus is on the TX-NR905 from Onkyo. I have an old TX-DS595 that I purchased several years ago. Despite the fact that I purchased this unit almost 7 years ago and at the time i purchased what I could afford, not necessarily what I wanted, I have been more or less happy with this unit and how it sounded with my Klipsch Rx-3II system. However, technology advanced are forcing an upgrade. Your opinions are appreciated! Thanks, Adam

  42. Wow, if I had known there was a set of those speakers in the Denver area for that cheap... I probably would have gotten another set! I got my Rx-3II system at floormodel/closeout prices at the Ft Collins SoundTrack (Ultimate Electronics). I got the mains for $300 a piece (they are actually RF-3's, I got them when the RF-3II's came out). I just this last summer purchased the rest of the package from the Ft. COllins SoundTrack at closeout prices when the new RF-35 line came out. My surrounds were about that price but my center was a little more expensive I think. The mains were floor models and the rest were new. Anyways, I have been extreamly happy with these speakers so far. I was a college student when I bought these so they pretty much maxed out my budget, but I am very happy with them. The RF-5's are way to expensive in my mind for what you get with them (the biggest difference with them is a larger horn... that is it). The woofers are the exact same model as the RF-3II and the tweeter is the same size (1"). If a person is going to pay that much more money over the RF-3's, the RF-7 would be a better price/performance value. Anyways, I think you made the right choice getting those instead of the synergy. Enjoy them! -Adam
