  1. THAT we'll never know but it's doubtful. From what I've heard about those down under curises things could get wild. Who'd want to tote around a bag full of lp's? Not me! BTW, Syd won the rugby game. Those guys are tough and a bit insane. I'm still clueless. Time for coffee!

  4. but my wife has the credit card and says NO! πŸ˜‚ Ok Mr. Rugby. I'm sitting here at midnight Saturday nite watching Syd and Bri playing rugby in the same Las Vegas stadium they had the Super Bowl in. The place if full and the crowd is going insane. 8-0 Syd and some Brissy dude just clotheslined a dude from Sydney and they got a penalty. He flat levelled him. This schiit is BRUTAL! No pads, no helmets just nads. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  11. I would be playing Vinyl, or R2R but I have to concede to the time it will take to get things back together. Making major moves of ones system, just takes....time. I just have to stick with it and be able to realize "Some form of" the joy of the completed system. Until then... YouTube! or other Flac and the what nots.

  12. An Angel visited a woman and told her she must give up smoking, drinking and unmarried sex if she wants to get into Heaven. The woman said she would try her best. The Angel visited the woman a week later to see how she was getting on. "Not bad" said the woman, "I've given up smoking and drinking but when I bent over to look in the freezer, my boyfriend caught sight of my long slender legs in high heels and he pulled up my skirt and made love to me right then and there." "They don't like that in Heaven", said the Angel... The woman replied: "They're not crazy about it in Costco either!"

  16. I feel that there are some basic questions that are useful to ask anytime you are buying something used. 1) how long have you owned it? 2) why are you selling? 3) is everything original? 4) if no to #3, what was changed (was it an intentional modification or a repair), why was it changed, who did the work, and what parts were used. More specific: 1) Listen to all the drivers and make sure they work 2) if you have any concerns, ask the seller to open the cabinet and check that the drivers are correct. The second post in this thread has a list of the stock drivers for all the heritage speakers: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/212916-klipsch-heritage-series-historical-reference-data-v4-–-27-january-2016-by-groomlakearea51-with-additional-information-from-the-historian/ There are a few, well known sources for Klipsch OEM and aftermarket parts including JEM Performance Audio (the only Klipsch approved source for new capacitors), Crites Speakers (aftermarket), and ALK (aftermarket). If someone says they have parts from any of these sources, I wouldn’t be concerned about it. Like buying anything used, you kind of have to size up the seller. If they seem legit and the speakers check out, it really comes down to price. Price varies widely based on condition, what model you are buying, what version you are buying, and where you are buying. Heresys will be a fraction of the cost of Klipschorns. Original Heresy’s will be significantly cheaper than Heresy III’s. However, there shouldn’t be much price difference within the same version of speakers. For example, a Cornwall made in 1960 and one made in 1980 are both version 1. They have slightly different drivers, because Klipsch made some minor changes over time, but if the condition is similar price should be similar. Hope this is some help.

  19. I of course can not say to the CD or other media except the vinyl, which is one of the smoothest recordings I own. Got this back in the mid 70's on a fluke, and just loved it from the get-go. It is one of the few vinyl pressings I use for testing and evaluation of sound. @MicroMaraGlad you liked it

  39. I haven't logged in for a long time, but was finally getting so fed up with my computer speakers, I decided to check out my old fav Klipsch website. I am a loyal Klipsch fan, and that is why my 7.1 home theater has Klipsch RF-7's, RC-7, RS-7's and RCW-5's. Well, a few yrs back, I bought 2 pairs of these computer speakers - 1 pair for work, and 1 pair for home. I love the sound, but hate the static, popping in and out sound, and having to turn the volume knob to get them to work. Much to my surprise, I started reading this thread. I got through about 3 pages and quickly learned this is a design or production flaw. I am disappointed, as I also purchased in-ear monitors and I love them as well. I suspect that many others did what I did - just put up with it in frustration for a long time. Now what to do - junk them and buy something else? Take them apart and monkey around with them, spending more time and money, for a possible fix? I also expected a little better from my beloved Klipsch. I'm sorry, but the copper image on my Klipsch licensed plate has been tarnished a bit.

  41. Q: Where exactlly is the foam supposed to be located inside? Mine is along the bottom and extends up toward the driver, just covering the bottom of it a bit. Is it supposed to be tucked all the way down below the driver? Does it really matter much? I know, if it sounds good, don't mess with it. I'm just curious.

  42. I've not been impressed by the movie theater for over 30 yrs or so. The picture and sound quality (or lack thereof), the mess, uncomfortable seats, etc. I took the kids to Nat'l Treasure 2 this week, and WOW was I impressed with the eye-popping color, crystal clear Huge widescreen and great sound (I hope they were commercial Klipsch!). With a new AMC theater nearby (Indianapolis/Castleton) I couldn't believe the dramatic improvement in equipment. while I love the High Def at home (bluray and Comcast HD), I will definately be going back to the movies once again. Other than an occaisonal trip to the local IMAX, I had pretty much given up on the dinky screens and artifact laden excuse for movie houses that have been churned out over the years. If you've not been to a theater lately - give it a try. Big, comfortable, roomy seating, and awesome picture (must have been 1080p)/sound. Any of the locals checked out that theater yet? Anyone else have similar experience? Just curious.

  43. Yes, happy belated b-day Roger! From another soon to be 46 er. I hope you enjoyed the excitement in the dome, because it was a pretty big let-down at home. Lets hope Marvin and company get healthy in the coming weeks. Save yourself the trouble - don't watch it again. Wait for the rematch.

  44. BillH - Yes, Eva is rather intoxicating. My wife and I first learned of her just a year ago, while vacationing in Saugutuck, Michigan. There is the greatest little record (cd) store stuffed with jazz and new age, and they were playing one of her cd's. After a few songs, the owner gave us the scoop on Eva (rest her soul) and we bought all they had. Ordered the rest online, and have been enjoying her since. Certainly a sad story to lose such a soulful talent at such a young age. It never occurred to me to try to find her online at YouTube. Thanks to this thread, I can now put a "live" face to those soulful chops.

  45. Buy the 7's. If not, you will just get the upgrade bug a few months down the road and eventually end up with them like I did. BTW - I thought the 5's sounded rather harsh (although in all fairness, I believe I was using a lower model Denon AVR at the time). To me, the 7's were a noticeable improvement. They will not overpower if you calibrate them, as others have said. I have in-walls for my rear-surrounds, and the system sounds fine to me (ie. everything is calibrated to equal SPF levels). Good luck and have fun.

  47. Yes, I have. Started with the 25's, and moved quickly to the 35's. Within a few months, upgraded to the RS-7's. They are the grand-datty, but the 35's did do a good job. The 25's just didn't have enough output. I would recommend the RF-7's, but they are HUGE and stick-out. If you cannot incorporate them into your room, then I would go with the 35's.
