  1. Yea, yea get outta that place and get back in here. I've been quiet and reading all of these newbies. I'm loading up my disintegrator gun. You guys ALL know it'll surface at some point. I can always use some help George. As far as a bath with @dirtmudd? Pictures or it didn't happen! Ok, ok blame the drugs or was it a Freudian slip? πŸ˜‚ So tell us more about that extra inch theory that's been discussed forever Guess I'd better step my game up a notch or two. I thought @Tarheel had it made w/his new hot tub. πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺ Don't worry bout a thing. Stick with me and I'll set ya free. Get there before the pre-show sound checks. I'll grab a towmotor and a stack of pallets then park your lil butt in that wheel chair on top dead center for the ultimate experience! Just look pathetic and ready for your last breath. Maybe the crowd will take pity on you and not rock the pallets. If it's indoors you're wearin cans back by the board. Just keep those dicso fingers of yours to yourself and enjoy. I'll even hook ya up with a couple chicken legs from dinner to go and a Heineken. One leg for each pocket. Ya get hungry just pull one out and gnaw on it and sip that beer. They'll understand. That's how family rolls. So yea George get back in here!

  7. This just played while I was typing the above video details. Wow! The track has words. "I can loose myself. You I can't live without." Powerful stuff Back when he could scream out and make the words wrench tones and tension.

  8. This album has a few things to say. Money well spent. I should get it on vinyl.. hmm. For you Married guys. I'm gonna do you a favor. Call the wife into the room for a dance. Stand at first position and wait to press play. If you listen to it first. You will ruin your own surprise. Here's to wishing you the best! ...and you are welcome.🫠

  11. Similar concerns. Instead I made an album that I really, really enjoy. Music or should I say - Sound; rhythmic. Has become for many a gambit. A way of showing the revolutions in a world that stands still. As if standing still were so uncomfortable? Traditions? Culture? Heritage? Innate tribalism without an apology. One time, I watched a grown man knock over kids getting to the dance floor. Man, that Polka music is something else. True Story! It happens from time to time. People who gyrate with an option to say something so keen that you want for them to do it again. That is music. The translation of our feelings in ways we haven't felt yet. The knowing of our interests. Our associations to Greatness are not fleeting. Ramble on!

  12. Mikael Akerfeld was so nice on this album. This and DELIVERANCE they recorded simultaneously. I gave that and Blackwater Park much play in my Amigo.

  16. You pulled that one outta somewhere @MicroMara. Haven't heard that one in forever either. All quiet in Duckburg w/a high of 32 today with 50's yesterday. Some of the local groups are putting together a couple trucks full of things for families who got hit by the tornado that touched down about 80 miles west of here. Small community near one of Ohio's larger inland lakes. Didn't think they got hammered that bad but they did. Lots of locals there but the numbers triple in the summer with people coming in for some r and r. There's really not much left. Guess I'll have to slip out and grab a couple lottery tickets since they're growing. Only way I'll ever get those new Jubes. The Beatles had it right I think. "I'm a loser!"

  22. Different Day Different Wavelength Love this band, always have, always will. Barracuda got me to take it home, this song and the rest made me play it until the microline styli wore it out over thirty years. New half-speed replacement, all is well when I get it back! I'm 2-2 with finding original release music tonight!!

  24. I've been doing the maple syrup thing for 3 years and the first tap is light in color and by the time the season is done it turn darker as I go. This year it's sweetest of all. And what's so cool is I planted the maple trees 25 years ago.

  26. Don’t promote third party vendor work or products on the forum. Don’t promote DIY, your own or others - which lends itself to unsubstantiated claims. Even those with test results, which are not Klipsch test results - and often come with layperson interpretations and conclusions. Klipsch is in the business of producing and promoting the sound THEY like. It’s all in the pinned posts that nobody reads. No shortage of other message boards, DIY forums - which is where I go when I want to talk about the extra wheel I added to the wagon.

  28. I don't know if my experience is the right one to use, but I still want to share it. I own the AL5 myself and, like you, was hesitant about acquiring someone else's AK6. I went to listen to his speakers twice, and both times I had the same experience. I found the AK6 to have a much tamer, maybe even somewhat dull, sound. The AL5, as it sounds in my home, has much more dynamics and punch. Also, I found the placement at my home better than at his. I'm not sure if this is due to the speakers, the setup, or the acoustics, but this is what I noticed. The bass went a little deeper, but I didn't find the difference, with the tracks I listened to, noticeably large. If I had to describe it briefly, I would say the AL5 (as I know it) is dynamic and lively, while the AK6 (as it sounded there) is more laid-back and grander. Note: he had his Khorns placed against the long wall, not in the corners. And this person likes a laid-back sound. It is likely that he has tailored his setup to this preference. I personally prefer a dynamic and lively sound. By the way, this person is in a position to listen to different Khorns daily, which are placed well in the corners, and according to him, the audible difference between the set tightly placed in the corners and his set is minimal.

  29. I would put Klipschorns on the long wall of your 12'x30' room, even if you need to add a free-standing corner at one end. That places your listening position on axis with the tweeters. The dimensions may seem counter-intuitive at first, but it often works good. Try it with your La Scalas before buying the K-horns.

  31. Like some of you already have, I just wanted to join in and say "Thank You!!" especially to SixerfFixer for starting this thread and everyone else that has contributed. I was able to get my cinema 600 up and running again yesterday thanks to the awesome info here, so grateful. Wanted to also share what I did if it can help anyone else. I have a cinema 600 with the sub and surround 3's that I bought at the end of 2020 and mine went out in the same fashion that most others have described mid year 2023. The system had been nothing short of amazing up to that point with no issues and sound that would fill not only our basement but almost the whole house. So when the sound bar initially went down I was heartbroken! Life has been busy so my sound bar has been sitting idle since it stopped working with the intent to eventually fix it or try and get a replacement. I got serious about it this past week and went the route of repairing the original power supply. I liked the idea of keeping the original power supply if possible and not using an aftermarket one even though it sounds like you can certainly go that route with success if you choose to do so. After reading this thread from start to finish I felt confident that I could replace the cap's on the 5v side and that would almost definitely do the trick...and it did. I only replaced cap's C05 & C06 (220uf 16V) on the original power supply. After removing the glue from the connections I disconnected all the power hookups to the power supply and completely removed it from the sound bar. I'm a diy'er and fairly mechanically skilled. Never soldered before but after a couple google searches on the basics of soldering and how to remover soldered capacitors from a circuit board it really wasn't bad. Definitely takes a steady hand but if your careful and have patience many of you I bet could do it. From taking everything apart to putting it back together I probably spent 1 1/2 - 2 hours, and that was with some interruptions from kiddos. Again, thanks everyone for this awesome thread. Now we are having dance parties and movie nights again with proper theatre quality sound!!

  35. I signed up for this forum just to post my thanks for this thread. I also wanted to mention one difference for my Cinema 600 in particular. My wire colors were different: STB was red, VDD was white, and ground was black. I ended up connecting red and white to +5V from my power supply, and black to ground, and everything worked great! Here's what my original power supply looked like, which is what made me suspect the wire colors were different.
