  1. Then FFS why did you ask on here? Oh, it wasn’t to try and get relevant and informed input, but rather so you could vent about what the policy/rules of this Forum were Re: outside vendors/peddlers? The “best part”, in terms of restoring Klipsch crossover networks to their original glory are the ones that Klipsch has measured, tested and confirmed match the originals and are offered through approved vendor JEM Performance for DIY, and @Deang for rebuilds. An unfortunate case of shooting the messenger @wuzzzer who was only trying to make you aware of the policy change on reference to outside capacitor and/or crossover network peddlers. The original post before you “fixed” mentioned one several outside peddlers so he was trying to get you to understand there might be other Forums that would have the information you were looking for. Returning 30 year old speakers to their original sound is a restoration. Changing the parts of a speaker, regardless of age, without regard to their original sound is a modification and typically involves an outside peddler and so you need to go to the other suggested forums if that’s the direction you are looking for.
  2. So sorry to hear that Wuzzer, it is never, ever easy.
  3. If you are happy with audioengine products than their B-Fi will do want you want via your house wifi. What are the differences between B-Fi (wi-fi) and B1 (Bluetooth)? B-Fi uses your home Wi-Fi network for multiroom music streaming and stereo pairing, while B1 uses Bluetooth. B-Fi allows you to name and rename devices, while B1 does not due to limitations of Bluetooth. B-Fi requires the Audioengine Control app for initial setup while no product app is required for B1
  4. So very sorry to see this. Wishing you and his family God’s Grace and comfort. God’s speed Tom.
  5. Too good to be true almost. Insist on in person public place for exchange. Bring a batter DAmp to test?
  6. Welcome to the Forum. The thread you want is here: Ngen is top notch at explaining the common problems, and he has a series of Youtube videos where he shows how to handle the common repairs. I don't have the tech skills to handle them, but it may be an easy fix for you. He was also repairing the amps for a time, not sure what the status of that is these days. Hope this helps, Travis P.S. You are not John Naber or one of the Furniss bros are you? What a small world it would be.
  7. I am by no means an expert on pricing and value, other than you can toss out any pricing data over 5 years old. Things started rising significantly about 5 years ago. Items selling on Facebook, etc. very quickly for 20% over “market”. If they were 10 minutes away, I could see going for 8 hundred, but agree, with BB @billybob that a 5 hour trip on top of everything and I would just wait and post a WTB ad in the garage sale section and let your forum friends help you locate other possibilities with alerts. Travis
  8. The LaScala and Khorn have the exact same midrange squawker and tweeter horns. The Heresy are just a great sounding speaker in their own right.
  9. I moved it to general questions section so it would have more visibility
  10. Hi Curt, welcome to the Forum. I am not familiar with the Nines but there may be some on here who are. In the meantime I would start a customer service ticket as a back up. Travis

  14. The Museum purchased a few extra (less than a dozen) for sale in the Gift Store. At a future date there are plans for another version with the identical content. Travis
  15. @Stig that account is still active, maybe @Chad can help you get access back. Extreme heat can cause change in driver magnets, have not heard of them getting weaker over time. Some others can probably help you out on the driver question. Travis
  16. Thanks for letting me know. I don’t have access to that level to be able to assist unfortunately otherwise I would be happy to help out. I have sent a PM to @Chad to ask him to take a peek over here to see what he can do. Trav
  17. Welcome to the Forum. 46 years, that’s quite a history. I think the knowledgeable folks here can help you isolate the source of the distortion from home so that all you need to do is arrange for those parts. I believe the first thing that will be suggested by @Deang and others is to make sure all of the connections are tight and secure. Then they will have you make sure that the distortion is from the speaker and not an amp by having you switch the speaker wires from left to right and right to left. From there they will help you identify which driver(s) are the culprit, and from there whether there are replacement parts available (diaphragms) or if a complete driver/woofer replacement is required. We have several forum members down under who may be able to help with a knowledgeable dealer or the distributor down there when/if it comes to that. Photos of the backs of your speakers will also help, along with photos of the crossovers and connect strips with screws.
  18. He doesn’t have a way to respond to you.
