  1. I got to see Buckwheat a couple of times, one of my favorite Zydeco performers. Most of the old guard are gone from the genre, Boozoo Chavis, Beau Jocque, Clifton Chenier, etc.
  2. Your price is more than fair considering the upgrades & looks to be "Forum Friendly Pricing". It depends on your location & if any buyers are lurking in the area. GLWTS
  3. Welcome Mustang, I thought your thread was going to be about moving those Cornwalls in your Mustang! Lots of Cornwall owners here on the forum, one of the many great speakers made by Klipsch.
  4. That's good to hear, Omar. This will be going into the obligatory refinished basement/man cave at my buddies.
  5. Jim, I agree about the 1.5's. Sometimes I turn off my Chorus II's and just play the 1.5's. they pack quite a punch for a small speaker. But for now they are serving as a riser for my TV, filling in as a quasi-center channel in my 2 channel rig, while watching movies. They deserve better.
  6. Cool, thanks for the quick replies. I am sure I will have sellers remorse, but sometimes you have to let things go, especially since these are all rarely used. Now to figure out how much for the package deal.....
  7. My buddy is considering buying my Cornwall II & Academy center for a 5 channel HT setup. He asked about rear speakers & thought I would offer my KG 1.5's to go with the setup. I realize there is a discrepancy in the efficiency of these speakers, although the Academy & Cornwalls match up well, so could he get away with the KG 1.5 for his rear speakers? He should be able to boost the volume of the channel on his rears to compensate, correct? Thanks for any help, I am strictly a 2 channel guy.
  8. I am not ready for the Octoberfest beer onslaught, i still have a few summer brews & Hefe-Weise to kill off. Thanks goodness there is a 3 day weekend on the horizon.
  9. Tarheel, that was Teknoid's post, I was just attributing the quote he used to Dorothy Parker. I do agree that the setup looks lovely. I gave up martinis years back as the more of them I had, the more I thought I was Errol Flynn! I call it, "drinking myself handsome." Enjoy the weekend.
  10. I think I have 2 songs on the list in my collection. Merely re-enforces my belief that popular taste blows.
  11. I have a buddy who keeps a roll of pennies in his car for just such occasions, he flicks them out of his sunroof & whacks the idiot's windshield.
  12. First show was James Taylor at St. John's NYC, 1973. (8th grade) walked to and from the show, you could do that in those days. Memorable was Crosby, Stills Nash & Young Roosevelt Stadium Jersey City 1974, the night Nixon resigned. Powerful "Ohio" & "Carry On" jams. Benny Goodman at Carnegie Hall 1979, first time at the legendary venue, everything they say about the acoustics is true, wonderful place to see a show. Too many shows to choose from, (500+), The Modern Jazz Quartet @ The Blue Note, Richard Thompson @ The Bottom Line, Robert Plant w/ Fairport Convention doing a set of Led Zep tunes in a tiny venue. Peter Gabriel walking on for the encore with Genesis, Jeff Beck w/ Jan Hammer, this could take awhile..........
  13. Impressive that the thread has hit 1000 pages without being locked. Who says we can't play nice when it is called for?
  14. His work as Leo Bloom in The Producers with Zero Mostel is priceless, "it's a minor compulsion..." RIP, Waco Kid, Dr. Frankenstein,Leo Bloom, Willy Wonka..............
  15. That quote would be from Miss Dorothy Parker, one of America's most scathing wits.
  16. Not too many... 2 in the apartment, living room & bedroom 4 in the house, main living room rig, basement setup, workroom & laundry room for the wife. All 2 channel.
  17. My brother went to the BMW driving school with customers & they had an absolute blast. He also said taking a lap with the pro was very different from his driving skills.
  18. Me three, I have my H2's stacked on my Cornwall 2's, takes care of the alleged Heresy bass shyness quite nicely thank you. Enjoy your new toys.
  19. Too bad for me that it is an "AFD", alcohol free day. I try to have 3 of them per week, one must have some sort of discipline in your life. I will have to celebrate this weekend, shouldn't be too much of a difficulty. Best bang for the buck bourbon I have come across is the Yellow Label Four Roses, around $20 a bottle here in NYC. Tough to beat for a Jackson.

    Muhammad Ali

While never a fan of Ali, mostly for how he beliitled Frazier, he did pay Smokin' Joe a compliment after the "Thrilla In Manilla" saying. "I hit him with shots that would have knocked down walls, & he kept coming." Ali also stated he wasn't sure he could make it off the stool for the next round when Frazier's corner threw in the towel. One of the greatest fights of all time.

    D-Day

My friend just got back from Normandy, he booked a guided tour of the battlefield. He said the miltary cemetaries were emotionally overwhelming. Plenty of folks do not forget,
  22. As an offshoot of this project, it would be nice if Klipsch would offer replacement cane grills for Heritage speakers. I would love to see my Heresy II & Chorus II's in cane for a change.

    RIP Guy Clark

I love his album "Dublin Blues" a real strong effort. I had the privilege of seeing Guy Clark & Townes Van Zandt on a double bill at NYC's Bottom Line, an excellent show in a great venue. During the show someone asked Guy, "Hey when's your next album coming out?" Guy's response was classic, "Whenever I have 10 good songs." RIP.
