  1. Sorry...I just assumed all in this hobby know about REW. A super awesome FREE tool. And again sorry with my 40+ years of electronics experience the abbreviation Sig Gen is Signal Generator. And yes if you are serious get a UMIK from the miniDSP folks. Relatively inexpensive as far as microphones go and calibrated for our measuring purposes and integrates simply and easily with REW.
  2. I dunno...tell the AVR the rear speakers are side surrounds? Can't hurt to try...or can it?...its impossible ,we'll all be killed.

    pull the plug?
  4. How's about hook up REW, turn on the sig gen and find the annoying frequency? Just an idea. And does the annoyance change as you walk about.
  5. A standing wave? At some particular frequency manifesting itself? Bass is a _itch in rooms, just the way it is, physics and all. We will only hear perfection in Heaven.
  6. GL helping your friend with sale...what's up with the panels covering the opening of the bass horn? that's where the bass comes out
  7. which crossover are you looking for? There have been several through the years. Many are here:
  8. Super Duper!! Congratulations John.. "cuz we all need a place to call home..we all need a room of our own"
  9. https://www.parts-express.com/Gold-Spade-8-AWG-6-2-Pair-095-670?quantity=1 I use these on Heritage crossover and speaker connections. Made for #6 screw and can go up to 8AWG. They also have ones for #8 screws. Check what your working with before ordering.
  10. So many have tried Heresy(s) as their center...yours ears will tell you if you it is OK. You only have one wire pair coming to that position, they could still be wired in parallel.
  11. the Strolling Bones back on the road... why is this man still alive? Only God Almighty knows
  12. KHorn owner 30 + years, now current UG Jube owner. To my ears the Jube bass bin is much better. Can only imagine how much better the Heritage Jube is. And the 402 horn is so MUCH better that there is NO comparsion IMHO. If you need more sparkle a tweeter of one's choice can be added.
  13. The man himself has answered my question from earlier, you CAN still purchase a set of K402s with drivers directly from Klipsch through a dealer. No secret handshakes or 6 packs necessary Thanks @Chief bonehead
  14. @BigRob573 you don't have K402s yet but you are evaluating drivers? Mated to what? I guarantee they will sound different mated to a 402. And a question to all....can't a pair of K402s be purchase directly from Klipsch as long as drivers are included? I paid $2250 IIRC back in'17 with K691 drivers. Changed out to TAD 4002s immediately with Be diaphragms. So far 2 way UG Jubes...I will add a tweeter for fun someday. Much more concerned with low end extension currently.
  15. Tempus fugit...in January we'll have been in our "new" house 13 years.
  16. room width 5.6 meters and speaker separation 2.6 meters? So each speaker is out from side wall 1.5 meters? But sounds like you have an equilateral triangle with your MLP also at 2.6 meters. All a little closer than I like to be but.....you have to work with what you've got. Do you have any room treatments to handle the first reflection points? That was a vast improvement in my set up to improve imaging. In fact I probably somewhat over did my room treatments but I am NOT against adding reverb back into the system. Some folks say no way to that being purists and all, not me. After all you are only hearing what some recording "engineer" decided to let you hear.
  17. Guys at the factory called it the "motengator". Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls.
