  1. Look at the Klipsch Powered speakers. https://www.klipsch.com/powered-speakers
  2. Those should sound good with your system. Just set them on top of the speaker cabinets while you try them out. You might want to use L-pads or something similar to reduce the SPL of your midrange down to the level of the woofers.
  3. I imagine you are having fun.
  4. Out in the garage, the left speaker is still equipped with the original parts, while the right speaker has been modified with the 2" aftermarket horn (pictured a few posts ago, painted brown, and right below) close-outs from Parts Express that @longdrive03 posted about several months ago, and the Crites CT-125 tweeter. I want to run some comparison measurements when I have time to move some motorcycles and tools out of the way, but for now the balance between the 2 channels is good enough to appreciate the fact that a factory stock Klipschorn is a great sounding speaker.
  5. Your measured response looks great.
  6. Thanks, and reviewing this interesting thread again, I now see where you already wrote about the track saw a couple pages back.
  7. Are you using your track saw on this build?
  8. This 17 x 11 horn is good, but must be mounted on the outside face of the motorboard, because of the contour of the flange. Also, it might not fit the depth of your Cornwall cabinet once the compression driver is attached. The ZXPC 18 x 10 horn is my recommendation for your type project, and can be mounted to the front or back of the motorboard. It is probably better for the audio performance to mount the horn on the outside of the motorboard if you can.
  9. The AC Infinity Aircom thermostatic controlled, ball bearing fan is good. I have also used some of the cheaper laptop fans, before I upgraded to the Aircom. The laptop fans can do the job , but the motor bushings tend to develop an audible chatter or rattle when they wear.
  10. It is interesting to go out and listen to other sound systems.
  11. This is an interesting question when thinking about the design. I see it has been answered, concerning the fully functional model currently being enjoyed by the folks who have them, but some of us like to daydream about building one.
  12. I think that is a picture of the back panel.
  13. The opinions we read on the Klipsch forum sometimes influence our perspectives about loudspeakers, so I do appreciate that you show and explain the reasons you arrive at your decisions.
  14. Order some more. That will help you remember what you did with it. 😄
  15. The fine build quality, the beautiful exterior finish and the excellent sound of the Tool Shed Amps are very good indicators of a high class product.
  16. Your uncle has some really good sounding speakers. His comment is a strong compliment for your Jubilees, and of your listening room.
  17. Very nice. What finish do you plan to use on your new cabs?
  18. I made these substitute assemblies for my garage speakers, because I want to preserve the (still dust-free) OEM grill cloths by storing them away. The project also gave me a good reason to hang out in the garage, use some tools and listen to music.
  19. My Klipsch speakers make people smile. The lapel pin is just for decoration.
  20. Those Servo-drive Velodyne subs are nice. I imagine that Tony T's big Klipsch subwoofer is going to sound really good and powerful in his listening space.
  21. Most AVR's with Audyssey (or one of the other room corrections systems) have bass and treble control that is independent. Some equipment requires a few steps into the Set Up menu to find the tone control, separate from the Audyssey graphic equalizer.
  22. Interesting to read your comments and the posts from the other listeners, too. Curious to know if you guys swapped seating positions so you could hear each speaker from different room locations? That could possibly influence the perceived sound.
  23. It looks like Audyssey is doing a good job on your system. Maybe you can get the desired bass curve by going to your Marantz Set Up menu, selecting Audio, then selecting Tone Control, On, then adjusting the bass and/or treble to suit your listening mood.
  24. The reason for the meters large margin, is so the needles always have smooth sweeps, even at full power.
