Poll & Prediction: Autonomous Car Equipment at 5k by 2019
Khornukopia replied to Mallette's topic in Lounge
I have driven on packed highways six lanes wide, every car travelling forward at 60 to 75 MPH, that if you back off to leave three car lengths of space between you and the car in front of you, then someone will pull their car or truck into that "empty space" to get into the apparent faster lane. How do self driving cars deal with these "logically unsafe" human conditions? -
Here is a great thread.

Klipschorn Special Order Mahogany Finish Year 2000 Missouri
Khornukopia replied to Edgar's topic in Alerts!
That mahogany is very pretty. Klipsch connected with some of the best veneer suppliers over the decades. Wish I could see its iridescent glow in person, but maybe it's better that they are far away. Would be excellent in a room with matching woodwork and good lighting. -
I agree with avguytx that you should do several samples so you can get familiar with veneer lay out, glue thickness, clamping (or ironing), etc. etc. A practice cube is ideal, but you can start out just veneering some scrap pieces of plywood or MDF to get the feel for it.

I have been reporting the scam ads for years. It is a tiresome, but I can't slack off when I observe people doing bad things.
-
It is a fraudulent ad. Please report it to eBay. On the ad page, click on "Report item", then there is a sequence of 3 drop menus. If you report it as "Avoiding eBay fees", that is the best way to get eBay's computer program's attention, to have the ad removed. As for the fraudulent ad, the pictures were lifted from an actual sale back in 2010. Now someone is using these pictures to lure victims into sending money or credit info to a G-mail address on the web page accessed by clicking on "SEE FULL ITEM DESCRIPTION". Please report this and all the other similar fraudulent ads to eBay.

Yes he does. I don't have anything to contribute to the DIY amp threads, but do enjoy reading them.

Great combination. Insulated door is worth the cost, for quiet door travel, garage music quality and room temperature control.

Building Cornwall from scratch for a friend.

Hope to see more pictures of your fine work. -
I am interested in the brackets. PM sent.

They might sound similar, but... The 4670D will make you a cool dude on the JBL forum (if there is one). The KPT 904 will earn you respect on the Klipsch forum. There is no comparison.

I have some speakers using 35 year old K-77 tweeters with NO protection circuit. Never had a problem. If I ever do burn a K-77, will just replace the pair with Crites tweeters which should last even longer.
-
Bob Crites recently pointed out on another thread that his tweeter driver has different performance specs, even though the tweeter drivers look similar.

The paint texture in your picture looks just like the paint on my factory painted Klipsch La Scala Industrial version.

Looking good.

How to add pictures to ones Gallery
Khornukopia replied to Charles M's topic in Klipsch Website & Forum Info
The pictures gallery appears to be back to normal. -
Nice looking repair job.

That original tailboard with the serial number stamped into it might be glued and stapled to the cabinet. Removing it could cause peripheral damage. Plugging it may not be perfect, but would retain more of the original structure.

This amp looks different than your previous DIY M2. How does it compare?

All the tiny holes in acoustic ceiling tiles are an important aspect of their design, so reading the details about SoundPly micro-perf is interesting.

Sale of pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers
Khornukopia replied to hdavidspikes's topic in General Klipsch Info
You could list them on this forum's Garage Sale section. -
Using a two way bi-amp system for example, crossed over at 500 Hz, both slopes at 6 db/octave and the drivers time aligned, what happens if I change just the high pass filter to 48 db/octave? Did I introduce a one wavelength delay to the tweeter signal, the equivalent of physically moving the tweeter backwards 2.26 ft.?
