  1. It isn't a users dream either. 77% of the desktop and laptop computers in the world run a windows based OS. Linux accounts for < 2%. And Linux is free. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_operating_systems https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/forget-linux-use-windows/
  2. Same pair @ $10k on craigslist. https://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/ele/d/aubrey-klipsch-klipschorn-designer/7031779422.html
  3. They had a pair of Fortes they did in orange veneer with the metal feet. Sat on dallas craigslist and ebay for a long time. Somebody must have finally purchased them. They were asking like $2k. One of the two must like orange a lot.
  4. Its the shear file size. Most any smartphone today will take rather large jpeg file sizes by default, > 3 or 4 megapixel. Need to re-size the photo, reduce the file size. I use a free app on my desktop pc to resize images. I'm sure they must offer the same for smartphones, either iphone or android based. Your issue is singular file size to post here. here is a free iphone image resizer app avail I located on a quick search: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/image-resizer-free/id824057618 I'm an android guy. I'm sure other members here can help you more with iphone if needed.
  5. Tin/lead is likely most common materials in a blend for electric hand soldering. I posted that list just as an FYI on electrically conductive materials, not really soldering elements. And the first four elements are like splitting hairs on conductivity/resistance values. Most of those elements in that list have very high melting points, which would preclude usage in electric soldering. Silver soldering for example requires a torch and temps > 650 C. Elemental silver has a melting point of 962 C. (1763 F) Any of those elements physical properties can be quickly found on wikipedia.
  6. I'm with you. My neighbor next door wanted to borrow my 16' extension ladder approx 3 months ago. No problem, he needed to get on the roof and reattach the drier vent cover and flapper. Most all of our houses (small subdivision) were built by a common developer and the dryer vents thru the shingle roof. Anyways after < 5 years (new house) he and his wife managed to blow off the cover and flapper valve, and a large ball of lint. All ended up in the yard below. He got the flapper back in and epoxied the cover back on. I observed the op from below. The previously mentioned "low exhaust flow alarm" on a clothes dryer sounds like a wonderful idea. I'm guessing most modern machines would shutdown on a high internal temp before a serious risk of fire occurred. Least I hope so.
  7. You need to make a youtube video to demonstrate for us......step by step.
  8. Excellent example. The solder makes the actual electrical connection. This list shows the conductive order of some commonly used metals and alloys, based on equal sizes. Pure silver Pure copper Pure gold Aluminum Zinc Nickel Brass Bronze Iron Platinum Steel Lead Stainless steel
  9. That's the new president of Mexico's strategy concerning the drug cartels and their gunmen.....hug it out/not bullets. Seriously, it was in news reports after the expat US family (extreme Mormons) was shot up/murdered recently in Mexico. I had to chuckle at that one....such a naive strategy. Or maybe he gets monthly payments from the cartel. hugs not bullets from the Mex pres: https://www.foxnews.com/world/mexicos-lopez-obrador-defends-hugs-not-bullets-policy
  10. I wouldn't say you overdid it in your processing of this image at all. It appears to me the contrast was reduced slightly for better definition. A technique I frequently use in Gimp. Color saturation and contrast, my two fav tools in PP.
  11. dats plum crazy......$7128.50
  12. You can bank on this, Heritage products will never be sold @ walmart. Or at least not in my lifetime. Not @ costco either. Their chi fi products.....oh sure.
  13. Don't know about the latest Denon AVRs but my Yamaha rx-v685 will easily allow me to do just that. 2.0 for music, 4.1 (fronts set to small) with a blu ray movie. Or I can have 2.1 for music but I find my corns don't need the sub for music as they reproduce to 30 hz. Most all the newer Yammi AVRs have 8 "scene buttons" which allow totally different settings (as you choose) per input source, in stored memory. Very happy and pleased with my Yammi. I would hope the Denon software is similar.
  14. To the OP, in the above sale you can purchase R-820-F (large floorstanders) for $250 each delivered for your front L and R. They are half price right now, heck of a deal (sale ends in < 10 hours tho). I'd do a 4.1 for now (phantom center) what I have been running for the last 4 years. Or purchase four R-820s on sale(front and back). Don't purchase a Klipsch sub. We see peeps posting regularly about their sub amp failures (usually just out of the warranty period). SVS makes/offers some nice subs with a full 5 year warranty. And SVS customer service is first rate. They have a seconds/returns page on their website offering a little savings. I'd run/select a Denon or Yamaha AVR to power ur home theater. I have run couple Denons before but am using a Yammy now and prefer it. R-820-F sale page: https://www.klipsch.com/floor-speakers
  15. Heresy 3 and CW 3 have identical mid and high range drivers and horns. K-53-ti and K-107-ti respectively.

The media is no better. Musk's clown truck has a SS skin so the media reports it as "bullet proof". Or maybe Musk himself started that. Yes it may be SS skinned but I have some .50 BMG ball ammo that will murder anybody riding in their Tesla "bullet proof" truck. Heck, 9mm ball ammo will most likely penetrate the skin too. 12 gauge 1oz slugs @ close range will do it too, I have no doubt.
  18. How can the entire Heritage line now be voice matched as you call it? What is "voice matched"? Timbre, is that what you mean? The latest versions of Khorn and LS still employ different mid and hi drivers than the CW4 and Her4. And the former CW3 and Her3 used identical mid and hi drivers and horns.....surely they were "voice matched"?
  19. I don't know where you get your Bolt 0-60 times from, but most Bolt reviews on line state 0-60 mph @ 6.4 seconds (still pretty fast). With a top speed of 91 mph. Ten hours to fully charge, starts @ $36k new. Bolt 0-60 time in article: https://www.kbb.com/car-news/2020-chevrolet-bolt-first-review/2100007871/ Tesla has a couple models that will do 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds. Now that is smokin.
  20. Same here.......nada @ age 61. Today's medical industry has a pill for everything, and they def like prescribing/selling them. Most are warranted, some are not imo.
  21. I owned Bose 901s and their matching Bose receiver with the active EQ built in about 1981. I enjoyed the 901s while I had them, had em hanging from the ceiling. Ground Patti in Jefferson, LA had them in their restaurant, like maybe 4 or 6 hanging from the ceiling. They sounded pretty good. Lots of guys I worked with bought into the Acoustimass deal, the tiny left and right speakers with the sub. I wasn't impressed. It was like a fad for quite a while, the tiny speakers "creating" such a big sound with the sub hidden out of sight somewhere. The thing with Bose is never in all the years did they ever publish frequency response data, never on any speaker product of theirs. Never seen any posted anywhere like testing either. I don't think they wanted people to see the FR from the Acoustimass system. I do own a Bose clock radio/stereo cd player next to my bed. It was a service award I selected from my former long time employer. It has worked well for approx 10 years and counting.
  22. Your photo link works for me. Happy to read life is smiling upon you once again. From a fellow LA resident.
