billybob
I just want to know where in the SamHell you got all that energy to type that update? Can't fool you Mark! Just bravado, reinforced by a couple of Miller Lite. Of course, I work best under pressure so, may wait until I hear she is coming back. Back to self now, and resting after my hardly work weekend. Wait, it is noon time here. pop... Can drink those all day long and type a straight line. Hardly beer!
Mallette
Opened the front door this morning to a visitor. This guy has to be 7' feet long. Maybe he is taking out some these damn squirrels! Absolutely beautiful and beneficial animal! Glad you like him. Too many just kill'em without reason. Dave
babadono
You caught that! How is that dual sub setup? Just goofin' on ya. The second sub is still in the garage getting cleaned up. All used, owned by someone else equipment gets a thorough going over before it comes in the house. Wife's orders, don't wanna lose any bush stacking privileges.

CECAA850
Using PEX and installing ball valve and drain for draining pipes in winter. Ball valves are a great ideal. I've never been a fan of PEX or any plastic pipe (other than waste) though, guess I'm old school.
billybob
Great fan of ballcock valves. Held up nicely this past winter on wellpump. Brass!
JL Sargent
Yeah, pex is the future. All over Europe now and fast becoming the go to pressure pipe for the rest of the world.
babadono
When I built my house 5 years ago I wanted to use PEX but was advised against it by my super. He said mice and other vermin would chew on/through it.
CECAA850
If you're having a freezing issue, the composition of the pipe isn't the issue. Be sure that whatever pipe you're using is insulated. If you plan on using a drain to clear the lines in the winter, make sure there's no sag in the lines and that they gradually slope toward the drain. It's a good idea to add a fitting by the high point that you can use to introduce compressed air to help clear the lines. Mice LOVE plastic. They'll eat the insulation off the wiring in your automobile as well.

joessportster
Coffee and cinnamon rolls. Overcast and muggy here. May tidy the place up a bit as LF is on her way back. Dave I haven't heard much about your new cartridge. How do you like it? Just reading the thread on the $27 DAC from Amazon. Wondering how different DACs can sound to warrant the price differences. I'm still happy with my Maverick Tube Magic @ $250. Christy and dtel......get to work on my suite. Doing a rain dance for you California boys. Cheers Ladies and Gents Chuck, if you are happy with your DAC stick with it (ignorance is bliss) , upgrading is a never ending process The differences between Dacs is basically improved or worse (depending on the dac and your tastes) Clarity, detail, resolution, & grain, (the rest of the sound spectrum can come into play) but those are the biggies for swapping a dac Afternoon guys

oldtimer
Always a good idea to insulate, the benefit of pex is that if it does freeze it is way less likely to burst or develop cracks like the copper did.

BigStewMan
Hope BigStewMan is getting some relief! Thanks Man--Definitely got some relief. Thank God the specialist was able to take me in first thing this morning. He found a fourth root and when he drilled into the canal (or whatever it is he did) pus came gushing out. He said the infection was pretty bad and showed me on the X-rays…infection went from gum line all the way up to the sinus. He cleared everything out, packed it with some antibiotic and on Monday, i’ll go back for him to do the permanent seal. He said he hoped to save the crown--which i hope he did (forgot to ask) because this wiped out my insurance for the year and a crown would have to come out of pocket. Prescribed some narcotic pain killer and told me to be prepared to hurt; but, so far I’m fine. WAY less pain than i was in on Saturday. Thanks again.
