CECAA850
perhaps the pressure regulator at the input to the house has given up the ghost You can rig up a simple gauge that hooks to a hose bib. I doubt you're problem is pressure. It may be time to look into getting a whole house water filter.
akdave
Weather got serious last night. Literally got hammered. I've never seen it hail like that in San Antonio. My wife's SUV look like someone took a ball peen hammer to it. Wow that's just crazy! I hope you can get effective repairs soon! I hope the rest of your week is far less eventful! Happy Hump day to the rest of you!

I could not imagine being hit with hail that size.

I thin Carl is right, and just the normal inline cartridge mechanical filter would probably work, problem is it would need to be installed where the water comes in the house with a couple of ball valves for servicing. After looking them up whole house mechanical filters go from$39-$500, but I would think the lower end with replaceable cartridge would remove junk causing your problem.
CECAA850
After looking them up whole house mechanical filters go from$39-$500 I can't recommend THIS company enough. The build quality on their products is first rate. The Futura-10 would probably do it. Edited April 13, 2016 by CECAA850
Moderators dtel Posted April 13, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 13, 2016 Those look good, I just looked at home depot for rough prices, but the bigger the cartridge the less it would need to be replaced i would think.
CECAA850
I have an APEC under counter RO filter. The difference between my old one and this one is night and day.
Moderators dtel Posted April 13, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 13, 2016 I was looking into RO filters when I had a salt reef tank aquarium, but ended up out of that hobby and switched to ponds and Koi, much less demanding.

If you're getting as much calcium as you say, your filter is either the wrong type or not working. What make and model do you have? Normal filters won't pull calcium out of the water.
CECAA850
Maybe a better term would be water treatment. You want a softener or the device I linked to above to handle calcium. If you're using replacement cartridges and charcoal filters then you're not addressing the calcium.
CECAA850
Do you have Sulfur???? A sulfur smell can mean that your sacrificial anode in your water heater needs replacement.
babadono
Do you have Sulfur???? Not an abnormal amount, no sulphur smell. Its "city water" not a well.
