Seems like a lot of Navy guys here. Wonder if Klipsch being sold in the exchange and long days at sea; along with listening to and talking about music with fellow squids has something to do with us all landing here?

No, we're all just nuts.....

I did a cat launch off the USS America in a C2 to beat the rest of the boat/squadron back to Oceana a few days early. I never did a carrier landing. Or was it the USS Roosevelt during a shake down? At any rate it was quite a ride.

@Deaf Khackee I was in MS in April. Can't imagine what it must have been like in full blown summer. Yikes! The Bass probably just want to get out of the boiling water so they let you catch them.

Were a little over 2 hours South of Meridian, Picayune Ms, and it can get pretty warm.

oh, it's just absolutely lovely.  I promise.  a native of Birmingham, current location metro Jackson MS - lived here in the deep south my whole life.  there's just nothing quite like summer in the south.  nor is there quite anything else like winters in the north.  I've been "fortunate" to visit Maine and the Michigan UP in Jan/Feb.  it is just freaking cold.  oh - and MT too, Jan '16 I think was my last trip there.  warmest it got the week we were there I think was in the 20's.  THAT felt great - when it warmed up!

Dockside sure was good back at Thanksgiving. You guys ever eat there?

Yes, if it's the same one, it's a seafood restaurant right on one of the main roads crossing town. They do have good food, when we first moved here even if you sat down to eat your food came in a Styrofoam box, slightly changed but it's still good. Not much of a town but that's how we like it, were about 10 miles out from there, wish I would have known you were that close.

Sensor Systems Specialist on RF-4C Phantom II '87-'94. This was one of our birds.

If I did get a ride on a jet like that, I would definitely need a sensor systems specialist after that ride, and maby a change of pants.

@dtel - I just might have to chat you up for an in person meet up sometime.  if we ever get down toward you.  my GF & I, we're pretty much home bodies, don't get out much really at all.

I spend a lot of my time on the road for work; so when I'm not doing that, I tend to get a bit lazy & don't venture out much at all really.

but if we ever head for your area with some flex time, I need to chat you up.  and if you're through the metro with time, or a need of any kind - don't hesitate to do likewise.

funny sttt right there ^ .   me too.  my GF used to be married to a now retired F-15 pilot.  she got a taxi ride in a 15 once.  growing up in B'ham with an uncle and a one time Scoutmaster who both worked at the B'ham Air Guard post, a buddy of mine & I got to fly the F-4 simulators for an hour or 2 once.  that was about as much fun as you can have sitting almost still.  and yes, we did "bounce" the sims a few times too. what the heck, right?

Yes that would be good, were the same way, if we don't have somewhere we HAVE to go we are home. We have been through Jackson alot in the last few years, but always on the interstate, I don't remember ever going to Jackson itself. Our daughter lived in Monroe for years, that and planing the Pilgrimages and working on the Museum we have gone to Hope probably over 25 times in the last few years, passing right through Jackson.   Yes we should do that one day. :emotion-21:

if you watch much local news, even from the coast, I'm sure you know you don't really want to go into Jackson itself.  we live in an eastern suburb of the metro, east of the airport.  and don't really get into Jackson proper too much ourselves.

Like almost any city these days, we just always tended to be on our way somewhere else. One day I would like go ride on the Natchez Trace, but we always seem to be just passing by, every time we pass the sign we say that.
