Two BIG earthquakes east of AU.

Tsunami warnings out, Good Luck to @Full Range & all possibly affected!

* I'm four hours behind on that just opened the news folder and saw that without looking at the darn timestamp on it!

All is good

Last big flood that almost reached my house was about 10 years ago

Edit

No warning for mainland Australia

But some islands off the North QLD coast may be affected

not so sure about that ... I've heard from some that have attended pilgrimages that there is an awful lot of cigarette smoking going on, some have told me that it was nearly unbearable due to so many people smoking.  it would probably remind me of being a kid, stuck way back in the rear-facing third seat of our Plymouth station wagon, on a long drive and the parental units chain-smoking in the front seat.

I remember before they banned smoking indoors in California, I go to my bowling league, come home and my wife wouldn't let me near her until I changed clothes because she said I smelt like cigarette smoke.

if I'm going to suffer all that smoke, they'd better have a casino hidden in there somewhere.

Kinda lickin' my wounds from Monday and yesterday.

Spent a couple hours working the dirt wrench Monday. So...what do I do?..Tues,  .Let's go to the lake. Did some hike/walking. I went up and down that same hill that canned me. Getting up was trickier than going down [Duh -- sooner or safer"]....Since the snow/rain, the ground tacked up enough to negotiate.  I didn't take any chances going down the hill. Half slid on my butt. It's harder to fall when you are already down, no? Fishing was very slow. No fish dinner.

Home made pizza was almost as good.

I did an experiment the other day... I moved the tone controls from neutral on the H/K -LaScalas.  ..and moved them back... except for a little positive treble. .

@BigStewMan When I'd come home at night after working at the Chick-Fil-A (to get money for that first car) I'd reek of the oil from the henny-penny pressure fryer the chicken cooked in.

Once when the cat was goofy he jumped me from the bookshelf next to the backdoor that was taller than I am. Hung on to my neck from behind as I walked the rest of the way in.

Bad tabby-cat!

That's accurate.

you're the second to say that ... so I'm gonna believe it.

Make it three. You know the film “Up in Smoke”? Substitute standard tobacky for wacky tobacky and you’re there. But, the place is big with a lot of room and you can spend lots of time in the great outdoors - . If you attend maybe we can convince Carl to serve you slushies outdoors? Carl ?

Nope.  Got a lot i haven't opened yet.

The one I have is actually a 12 year Van Winkle.

if I had my choice, I'd go with 10, 12 year ... maybe 15 year.  I've heard after that the taste isn't as good. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you taste it and can identify others in your collection that you like better. Sometimes, an item's reputation is better than it's quality. they sell the 10 year at the bar across the street from me; but with COVID I haven't been inside for 11 months.  the bartender lady told me that it's $35 a pop.  I would have ordered one; but I only noticed after I was sipping on a Stagg Jr. and had a 20 oz beer in front of me too. The Stagg Jr. was very good -- I'd order it again.

carl -- do you have a favorite? if you could only drink one brand for the rest of your life, which would you choose?  So far, I'm in Colonel Taylor's army; but that Weller 12 was very good too.

I'll tell you hands down, by far the worst I've ever had is Four Roses. Yuk!

My favorite is normally the next one.

Hadn't really picked a favorite, it's easier to pick ones I don't like but some of the good ones I've had.

Stagg Jr.

Colonel EH Taylor

Most of the Weller offerings

Some of the Buffalo Trace store picks I get around here are absolutely outstanding.

9 or 10 year Clyde Mays

All of the Buffalo Trace Antique collection (but not the ryes).

Elijah Craig

Knob Creek 12 or 15 year

Widow Jane

Evan Williams single barrel

Belle Meade

Bookers

If I sat and thought for a while, I'm sure there are others.  The list of bourbons I don't like is much longer and I'm really not into Rye, Irish Whisky or Scotch (blech).
