Taking the Belle cabinet off the floor reduces the already limited bass extension the Belles have. The floor adds to the last part of the bass horn, so those can only detract. That's why Klipschorns sit flat on the floor. I have no idea how much bass they take away, but I'll bet it's noticeable. I always wondered how much bass was lost by the leggy supporters of the JBL Paragon and Metrogon cabs. Beautiful designs, tho'... PWK authored a paper with measurements of an early Cornwall, in the corner, pulled out by 48" (from both walls), and lifted off the floor 18". IIRC, it killed the bass when lifted more than 4" or so.
