I'll see your Tupelo and...Too funny!  I almost played that one.

Made a last second game time decision and went with Veedon.

Bet that's sounding nice this evening on that Linn!

Both Verdon Fleece and Tupelo on vinyl are extremely rare! I wish I had them!

On to side two.

The Horace Silver Quintet deserve mentioning;

Blue Mitchell, Trumpet; Junior Cook, tenor sax; Horace Silver, piano; Gene Taylor, bass; John Harris Jr., drums.

These fellas can cook!

Hi,

A new diamond on my VM700, the 50SH replaces the 40ML to make an Audio Technica VM750SH, I bought it from our German friends at HiFi Phono House (very good price for Europeans). The result is superb, with nice deep bass and a very nice midrange. I will be able to enjoy a lot of beautiful vinyl records.

Good listening friends

Thriftstore finds of the week:

Chris Rea (1981😞His 4th studio album (of 25), before he became really famous with Road to hell and Driving home for Christmas

Mahalia Jackson, The power and the Glory (1960)

A Christian album, her voice is amazing. Some say these Christian albums are better than her jazz album.

Ha!  Why not?  Their first from 1970 then the lineup changes over the years?

 Supertramp were one of the first groups to be signed to the UK branch of A&M Records and their first album, Supertramp, was released on 14 August 1970.  Stylistically, the album was fairly typical of progressive rock of the era. Despite receiving a good deal of critical praise, the album did not attract a large audience.[12]

Basically a zilllion changes in the line up but Roger Hodgson survived as a co-founder along with Rick Davies.   Many great albums left Hodgson has survived and is still working when he wants to.  :)   Great album if you ask me!

Since I like Supertramp a lot, I still have to get this one. As Your quote says, the music is quite different from what they did in the later 70´ies and early 80´ies. Interesting!
