John Warren
In the meantime, researchers are still trying to figure out the causes of obesity in the USA.
babadono
"the food is really bad for you, but there is so much of it". If you're not diabetic already get your insulin under control...How? Stop eating carbs, stop snacking, stop eating way too often. Ask your doctor to do a fasting insulin test, not a fasting blood glucose level test, a fasting insulin level test. 90% won't do it, it opens Pandora's Box.

babadono
It's not about lifespan albeit longevity is a wonderful thing, it's about healthspan. How long you live a healthy life. Unencumbered by physical ailments, the ability to see and embrace your loved ones. And to carry on intelligent conversations with a relatively clear mind. And to hear and enjoy your wonderful Klipsch speakers.
John Warren
18 hours ago, babadono said: Ask your doctor to do a fasting insulin test, not a fasting blood glucose level test A1C is the gold standard, most docs will prescribe an A1C if a couple of 12h fasting BG ratings are 105-115 (at least that was my experience). The correlation coefficient between BMI and A1C for the 50+y/o crowd is basically =1.0 so if you're heavy or obese you're most likely prediabetic or diabetic. To your point, you can live into your early 90s with all sorts of metabolic issues. I've got family members there now. And they're depressed, immobile (really crippled), fatigued, constantly panting and vision impaired. And that started 10-15 years ago. Not saying I won't experience same fate but if there's any opportunity to avoid it, I'll try. Genetics loads the pistol but it's lifestyle that pulls the trigger. Marvel
There were three or four women where I work who did gastric Band surgery. Only one looks halfway normal, the others look like walking death. A lady in our accounting office was way overweight, couldn't walk very far or bend over to pick up things. She started the Golo plan early in the year. She doesn't buy their food, although is is actually reasonably priced. She's lost about 75 lbs and is look very healthy. Plus she can now do long walks, pick up things, etc. She can vary what she eats, splurge on a weekend and get ice-cream if she wants.

John Warren
The WSJ had an article that talks to the concept of "health-span" rather than life-span. Health-span is the years one lives with good health and free of diseases that impact your quality of life and state of mind. The years past when the health-span ends are the years spent managing disease. Most medical interventions, especially for the 75+ crowd, increase life-span but not health-span.
JJkizak
I have to walk a 3 mile hike every day through the woods to keep my head on straight. Arthritis in the fingers, cold toes, decaying teeth, right shoulder pain, minor back pain (Teeter helps a ton), short term memory, 2.5 reading glasses, and ED which Viagra corrects. jona
In fact, I often like to follow different diets. But the main thing to remember is that your body should always get all the good substances and vitamins it needs. When I limit myself to something in my diet, I always replenish it with the necessary supplements, which I can easily buy at the Canadian Pharmacy. So I really recommend using this site. Yes, I've been on a few diets. From my experience, focusing on balanced meals with plenty of food vitaminssuch as Omega-3, B6, and Vitamin A and proteins .All of these are essential for our bodies and help improve our health and skin condition. I often take them in courses, so I prefer to order everything in pharmacies, and sometimes even online. I am most satisfied with the Canadian Pharmacy B2B format. For me, it's a quality indicator, very convenient and effective. It helps me and improves my health, so I recommend it to everyone
JJkizak
Went on a self imposed diet in 2013 because my Doctor (very beautiful) said loose 30 pounds, quit the sugar and salt, and exercise every day or I will put you on a pail full of pills. I did what she said and I am only on Lasartan for blood pressure (hasn't changed since 1990) and vitamin D3 2000. All my buddies have those 7-day 3 times a day trays for taking pills and fat guts with bypass scars. JJK
