My kids and I walked up to the Rose Parade route right earlier. We did a little people watching and got back home WAY before midnight. I took my digi cam and got some pics of the calm before the storm. The party was just getting rolling. It get's really packed and crazy just before midnight. Over two million people will line the five mile route shoulder to shoulder to see the parade in the AM. Better them than me. Been there, done that. We had a very quite one this year. For the kids we ordered takeout pizza, and some sparkling apple juice, then we watched the Sydney Harbour fireworks on television. I switched on the 5.1 system upstairs for that. Great sound. It's a shame we weren't there to watch though, last year they got over a million people at the harbour-side! ben. Posted December 31, 2004 Share Posted December 31, 2004 Happy New Year to all... My wife and I did our traditional "New Year's Eve Eve" party last night at our old stomping grounds in Fredonia. Good ole BJ's Downwind Cafe. I proposed to her at that party 3 yrs ago, and asked her out for the first time at the party in '95. Not being a fixture there any more, the service is a bit slower, but it's always good to go home. An old friend of mine bought the place a few years back, and it's changed a bit, but it always changes anyhow. Damn place is almost 70 years old now. ANyway, a quiet NYEve as usual for us. She's upstairs sleeping away a migraine. I do believe her when she says it's unrelated to the 4 Limon & teas she had last night... Everbody be safe tonight.
