  5. Hi guys, my name is Michael and I'm a Klipschaholic. Here are the Twelve Steps of Klipschaholics anonymous: 1. We admitted that we were powerless over our hobby and that our collection had taken over the house. 2. Came to believe in a great speaker designer (whom some choose to call PWK) 3. Made a decision that the above speaker designer could restore us to healthy listening 4. Made an inventory of our speakers and what we did to obtain them 5. Discussed this inventory to another human being 6. Understand which speakers we don't care for and be willing to get rid of them 7. Actually put these speakers up for sale 8. Made a list of all speakers we have harmed and become willing to fix them all 9. Made repairs to those speakers whenever possible, except when to do so would substantially alter their original design. 10. Continued toenjoy our Klipsch speakers on a daily basis 11. Sought to increase our enjoyment of Klipsch speakers, 12. Having enjoyed music and movies with our Klipsch speakers, we carried this message to other music lovers and listened to music on a regular basis

Glad he can take a joke. Seriously, is another matter. Life on the wild side. What a lucky fellow he is! And you too apparently. Go get us a date Tarheel! And let her know we are not that easy...to bag.

  23. One of the sayings with Klipsch is "pissing off neighbors since 1946." This is due to how loud they will go. Couple that with the size of the Khorns, the smallness of your room, AND your statement that you aren't interested in loudness makes me wonder just exactly what you are looking for when you say you are thinking about getting Klipschorns. While these speakers sound very good at low volumes they YEARN to be set free and turned up. Where, in my opinion, they shine like no other. Mind you, 'turned up' is a relative term. 8 watts through them is more than loud. I hope you don't live in an apartment.

  26. Missed that in my exuberance. Would offer some advice now but, thinking he is still good to go. Looking at it again, I'll stop. You both missed it. She had plans she had forgotten about BUT offered an alternative day. Chuck then said "I'll PROBABLY see you sooner or later". I'm sure she took it as him finding a way out of the date. You see, I was right the right time, or was I? Better leave these matters to more experienced hands like you and dtel or, we will never get a date. Confusing these loveboats...

  29. Now they are just running amok. THANKS A LOT For over 26 years with humongous international computer services company, 5 4 19, that had the Cat Herder commercial, with real cowboys and cats. Nobody had any idea what we did or who we were... but loved the commercial. The next one that I think virtually nobody saw was rebuilding a large passenger jet in mid flight which was pretty cool, followed by the Running Of The Squirrels commercial which was probably seen even less made one think the ad agency was smokin' or snortin' some sort of recreational pharmaceutical product. So I'm a cat herder too. Just the cats are different.... trying to get client requirements for any IT project before the expect you to build a new system or enhance it or keeping their requirements in line with their budget... paying for a Yugo, expecting a Corvette. Chad. Amy may not have told you, but you can't herd cats. It's impossible. Amy did do a very good job of keeping us ornery kitties of the Klipsch cattery in line but cats as any cat servant knows, cats will do what they want. The best you can do is persuade and distract them. Your work is cut out for ya mang. Maybe some Klipsch treats every now and then will distract us from our ornery running amok way. lol 5 4 19, founded by that crazy little Texan with big ears that loved pie charts who ran for POTUS a few years back.that was later swallowed up by an even more ginormous computer hardware company, 8 16 for the past 2 to 4 years. Not the Itty Bitty Machine company (9 2 13) whose hardware and computin' machine operatin' systems, database software I work on. Needless to say it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out my days there were numbered. I'm a big iron aka mainframe computin' machine programmer, analyst, database administrator, configuration management administrator, security administrator, disaster recovery dude, systems interface etc over the years. Jack of all trades big iron, maybe even master of a few with a lot of knowledge a "normal" programmer / analyst doesn't know about having worked with the systems programmers quite a bit over the years. . Took the early retirement as I was going to get laid off and the early retirement option was a lot better than severance if viewed as severance. Pretty much out of work for about a year during which time I had a hip replaced and was a bit of a slug finally gettin' the old job search going. A short work exile before my "retirement" date didn't help in the gather up and organize all the documentation I'd created over the years so my soon to be former co-workers had a clue about the stuff I did they didn't know much about and often didn't want to learn. I now work for a relatively small computin' machine contracting firm as a sub contractor on state of Indiana FSSA eligibiligy project, basically backfill for the people building the newer "better" server based system that probably was supposed to be completed in the next few months. Not going to happen. Contracting ain't what it used to be..... Eligibiltiy system is primarily for food stamps and medicaid eligibility including Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0 recently announced by governor Pence. Yep. Supporting Indiana's system(s) to support the ACA (Affordable Care Act) commonly referred to as Obamacare. Wife is a library aid at county school in Kokomo. On the other side of the county across IN 931, the former US 31, for any who have drivien through "stoplight city". I work in downtown Indy behind the state house and depending on route drive by Klipsch HQ quite frequently. The drive is a killer. Location not so bad with the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art across the street to the west on the canal walk. I did get to amble through the recent Ansel Adams exhibit at lunch a few times and with a couple of friends so that was kind of cool and got a membership for my wife and myself as it wasn't much more than if all 4 of us would go but unfortunately the family didn't make it downtown. The Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center is accross the street to the north also on the canal. The NCAA Hall of Fame or museum, Indiana State Museum, White River State park, Lucal Oil Stadium, Victory Field, The Fieldhouse, Circle Center Mall, etc are all nearby. So if y'all are in downtown Indy or comin' this way, let me know. We can hit the Eiteljorg for free (I'm essentially a minion for the state...) as I can take a guest as can my wife.

  30. You didn't change plans she did, don't worry about it. Like Billybob said, playing hard to get, even if it were the case it's way better than sounding to eager, that would scare her off I would think, but then what do I know I haven't dated in 3.5 decades.

  31. You got it! put a smile on your face appears to be Must say it is wild the leaps humanity has made with technology even in the past 5 years. My tv's got wifi. Just keep from blootooth speakers is all i ask of klipsch lol im afraid that is coming regardless of what any of us feel...blootooth speakers is gonna be the money maker soon. In 20 years nobody knows the truth of any matter to do with technology. If you do know create it or buy stock in it if your drive in life is money....I seen something the other day right in front of me valued over 300 billion dollars. I wont go into detail although it was the most incredible thing i have truly ever seen in my entire life. I wish i could explain a bit although its useless. Technology is leaping so far ahead that we common folks cannot comprehend and some would not be able to undertake the thought of what is produced right now today. I sure do take things and drag them on into what i have seen saw felt or what have it...my point is ultimately a horse+buggy, cow out back and chickens in the yard with a garden dont seem so bad really. cheerio

  32. I take it back a bit lol itemizing "with value" of your cd's on your ws is too much. Myself In the past year my fiance and i have bought roughly 3k cd's on top of about 200 lp's and 1 120gb ipod half full. Im happy to let you all know that! Many of us do list our radio systems in our sigs or in system profile. Myself i list what i prefer to use..at least thats my story. who will ever know lol Soooo. Im going to get a domain and name it and let you read everything i have. If that dont impress you i hope somebody else does or i just find somebody else to impress lol I let 2 people in my home once a month including family. Im mental like that! And many other ways as well. Anyhow im running out of ideals to draw attention to me at this moment. Of course while drumming up more...all at the same time working on my post count and just one more fighting day to keep from the group of whitecoats taking me away Cheerio all wont ya!

  36. Except then I'm longer staring at empty DBB cabinets and I've laid the ground work for incremental changes in the future. And they tuck away into the corner a bit better - Reading through JWC's old threads it seemed like this configuration gave slightly better bass response vs the rectangular shape. Like I said, I'm bored and just wanting to tinker without spending much cash.

  41. LOL. And my neighbors don't have AC & leave their windows open till it gets cold outside. I just remember how much fuller my Advents sounded when I had them in series. Can't imagine there's a problem doing that with these Klipsch but if there is, this is the place to ask.

  43. Klipsch has a titanium diaphragm that can be used in the KLF-30 midrange drivers. However, if you used it, you would need a crossover mod to limit how high the midrange goes. The way the crossover is set up now, the phenolic diaphragms just rolls off naturally and the tweeter pick up at that point. With a titanium diaphragm in the midrange, it would just keep going instead of rolling off naturally and would be playing along with the tweeter. Bob Crites

  45. I have purchased a "pellet smoker" which is the best thing since sliced bread. Absolutely love it!!. I use 100% Hickory pellets with it. The thing has a digital controller which I can set to desired temp and the smoker will keep it there feeding the firepot pellets as needed via auger. It's amazing how good the thing works too.

  49. That is what I used to do also; keep them on the line as long as possible. I even had one get pissed when I would not give them a credit card number and put his supervisor on the line; I told him I was just trying to see how long I could keep them on the line and waste their time, since they called me to waste my time.
