  1. I mean, it's not a Colter collection by any means, but hey, I'm just getting started...and the LSI's, the other two pairs of Cornwall's and the other Heresy's wouldn't fit in the photo....damnit...

  4. So six month or so ago I sold my La Scalas of 12 years to buy some new speakers. I wanted something that looked and sounded better. I bought a sub woofer from SVS and it is great. So decided after reading all the wonderful reviews on there Ultra towers it was time to sell the La Scalas and buy the SVS Ultra Towers. Well the Ultras look better. Only because the La Scalas where a little beat up and some *** lacquered with polyurethane and did a horrible job before I got them. Damn and I am not sure if they sound better. My only complaint with the La Scalas was I felt like I had to listen to them to loud for them to open up and sound great. I replaced the crossovers with ALK Universals many years ago and there was a noticeable improvement. But now I wonder if the new ALK Universal economy crossovers would fix this problem with the ability to turn down the squeaker and the tweeter. Well how about the looks? A beautiful pair of Walnut Belles will fix this problem. I will be going to get these in a few weeks. Besides I missed you guys and felt like a traitor for playing on here and not having any Klipsch in the house.

  5. How about a pair of walnut Heresy II's, that are pretty beat, but not toooooo bad, and....all of the drivers are good. Only thing missing is a dustcap from one of the K-24-K woofers. $25 for the pair at a local flea market....Score!

  7. I love margaritas. Hate the crap mixes available, like Chi Chi's, etc.. Too sweet, too tart, and too much high fructose corn syrup. I have gone with just Simply LimeAid, tequila and Triple Sec, but still not satisfied. Squeezing fresh limes is too inconvenient and expensive. Is this a local establishment that sells the mix? Do you have any good recipes for the mix? Local establishment, yes, but I am enough of a regular that they shared the recipe. 1.75 Liter Silver Tequila - They use Cien Anos 750 Ml Triple Sec - They use Bols 19 oz. fresh lemon juice 19 oz. fresh line juice 5 oz. sugar 35 oz. water Be sure to completely dissolve the sugar in the water before adding everything else. Powerful stuff.

  15. 5pm New QSC Bass Amp delivered. 5:10pm Amp Wired and Rocking. 5:15pm Ordered another one, i mean if i can have 500Wpc for $2bones, why not have 1000Wpc for another $2 bones? So then with two, i will be Mono blocking the Bass units w/SS. Yeah, life is getting better, or louder as it may be, for the first time im able to feel the air moving 10' from the stacks. This calls for a bottle of the Lagavulin for friday.

  19. I got to play like I was at home today. Program office wanted to display some rolling status information on two 50" monitors in one location. The IT department quoted $52,000.00 for two sites being setup which included computers, travel, yada yada yada. I went out for lunch checked around and picked up a 50" HDTV, HDMI splitter, HDMI over Cat 5 adapters, linked some Excel spreadsheets to Power Point and displayed the information as a slide show to three different offices (which had TVs already) plus the required location on new TV using an existing laptop for $1000.00 total. Where's my bonus? P.S. The IT manager has announced that she likes me even less now

  20. Chad, Sorry to hear about your bad luck. That does not surprise me at all. Daryl is a packing fool. Let's hope it is something minor. No insight to the problem but I know one thing for sure, Daryl would never knowingly sell anyone gear that is not exactly as described. I am sure you have already come to that conclusion during your correspondence with him. Good luck, Bill

  21. It's better like that anyway, you could freeze to death with a fireplace, it's just for looks anyway except for a little radiant heat, and don't sound nearly as good. That profile pic needs more Pro stuff, the mwm/402 would make the rest look really reasonable for WAF.

  27. Better ? That other pic was taken just for Boxx, like the amber in this last pic. I don't always take pics of beer, but I always carry a camera when out of town so I take pic's of everything...... The first is Salva Vida, brewed since 1916, it was in a hut on the side of a mountain in a jungle while waiting for friends and our daughter to zip line, we volunteered to stay behind to get pic's of everyone as they came down the line. We didn't think it would be long so were drinking them kind of fast, only to find out later it was over an hour, I was lucky to get the pics by then. The last pic is them going up in in a truck to the start of the zip........I don't make the cr@p up. The other is Belkin, a very good beer. I would rather any beer over the big name breweries in the US, and would drink anything else if all they had was budwiper.

  29. We were on our way to a party 20 some odd years ago. Spilled a beverage on my shirt on the way. Stopped at a liquor store to buy beer and bought what I thought was a Corona T-shirt out of desperation for something to wear. Didn't realize it until someone pointed it out to me that it said 'Corroded'. I think Pacifico may have more flavor. Pretty close to Corroded though.

  30. I want to listen too -- maybe if you have a few more drinks, you can crank it up a notch and i can hear your music down here in Huntington Beach; but, then you’ll have to change your tagline about not having pissed off the neighbors yet ... LOL, got an exwife down there at bookhurst and adams, (20years ago) i miss LA for only one reason, Surplus stores.

  31. Boxx …. comments? … That’s a Pacifico in your face. I didn’t mind Pacifico though; although it’s the opposite direction as where i got my beer … Canada--huge fan of Moosehead and Molson.

  32. LOL! Perfect! +++ I almost hate to ask this, but why ask us? Why not ask Bill Fitz? He posts on AVS.com frequently and his is very active in answering questions of all kinds, I bet he knows exactly how that slight mod would affect his Tuba design. Or email him directly at: http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/

  33. Amen to that. I smoked not only cigs; but, cigars, pipes, and (and i’m not joking) obscene amounts of pot every single day for years. I had enough money to live on, so i just partied all day and all night. Got stoned one afternoon and went on a beer run. Walking across the parking lot of the liquor store and i got short of breath suddenly -- never been the same since … that was 1980. Now i take pills and inhalers to keep my lungs and airways working. It sucks. I joke around and blame it on Jimmy Carter because there was talk back then of the govt funding the spraying of marijuana plants with paraquat--thinking that nobody would smoke it if it had been sprayed with poison--they were wrong, at least one person still did. Although, nobody else i know from that circle of friends ever got sick…so it was probably just my body saying “I’ve had enough."

  37. A old colleque of mine used to accept every cigarette he was offered, brake it and throw it in the bin. When asked about this strange behaviour he replied; "you find pleasure in smoking one, I find pleasure in destroying one". He was a bit of a typical guy, but honest....
