  1. Good Sat morning gang (had to check the day) Fresh grind breakfast blend from SB is the coffee today, out of the Duggans. Farm run to install Contactor for compressor/air. Looks to be a Turkey/avacado/club breakfast, w/BM. 41 and whatever they say, 50? feels like 40. Rain sunday, so they say, not enough to make any difference (Yet).

  2. Some people just don't want to hear the truth, so they become "offended" and challenge their "offender". Those who attempt to impose their will on me in this manner will find out how little I care about PC, or about "offending" them.

  4. Morning Gents and a cool one it is for these parts. Some yard work on the agenda and gutter cleaning....again. Gary.......LF brought over a small guitar amp and we plugged the keyboard in and got sound. There are a couple of sticking keys that I have given liberal doses of contact cleaner followed by a spray lube. Neither of us know how to play but it looks good in the music room Made a real easy chicken vegetable soup yesterday. After using some of a Costco rotisserie chicken for salads I boiled the remaining chicken with 8 cups of water and a couple of bouillon cubes. Then pulled off the chicken from the bones and added frozen vegetables. Salt and pepper. That's it. LF likes it too. Could use rice but we try to cut back on carbs. Watched a little football (a rarity) at a place called Joe's Oasis last Sunday. Went there for the wings that were supposed to be so hot they are painful. Got a sample of the sauce and then ordered the wings.....not bad but have beer nearby. Enough about me....what are you guys up to this weekend? Cheers Ladies and Gents

  5. ........ok, I just had to share my next play..... A high res. DVD-A and recorded by our beloved PWK back in 1955-57... He knew way back then that multi channel miking wasn't good enough to capture a live performance... I am totally in his camp here ;0) Stereo as well, and a number of years before offered to the masses.......a remarkable recording!!

  7. Afternoon all..... So far all I have done today is drink my two cups of coffee..... The wife and I just sitting on the couch watching a movie.....Stone Hearst Asylum..... We just finnished a movie that we started last night.... Circle.... ahhhh was ok..... Was a ok week...kinda slow at the shop.....but we did make enough for payroll....I like getting payed...lol lol We have a customer that dropped off his old 1991 Honda CRX "hf"..... his car has 369K miles on it...and it still gets close to 48 mpg. These cars were built for fuel economy.... Years ago I owned a 87 CRX hf and that car got 45+ mpg...it was a carburated car. I sold it one of my mechanic buddies at the dealership and he was getting almost 50 mpg highway...those old cars were incredible.... Not to much planned.....will proberly do some house clean-up.... might suck-up some leaves tomorrow, got a whole yard full now. Chuck...I got new gutters years ago when we got a new roof. We got the gutters that have caps on them. So far so good with em....they have been on for about 10 years now. I still get on the roof a blow off the leaves and crapp. We have some 37 oak trees on our lot and it's only 1/2 acre and then there's the neighbous trees.... I was on the roof last week blowing off the leaves....I tooks some pic's of the yard, I'll post them for ya.... Not much else going on......wishing all a great weekend.... MKP :-)

  8. Zzzzzz... Good Saturday to you. Had one of "those nights" last night - with the one year old who has the stuffy nose, cough and two teeth breaking through. You parents all know the "what's this sleep you speak of" nights. Might be a three cup morning! How long til morning nap?

  9. Morning gang working on the third cup, breakfast burrito down. It has been a nice relaxing morning with coffee and reading about Mr. Pass's creations over at Firstwatt. Wife just informed me she was thinking of going out and getting her hair cut. Normally I don't mind, however she mentioned one of the higher scale salon $$$$ . Chuck I maid something of the sort last night for dinner as well. Roasted turkey breast with brown rice in chicken broth and spinach. Very simple to make and low on sugar, the kids liked it, so that is a win. As for today, I have to finish a paper for my English Comp 2 class. Around 2 we are heading to a baby welcoming party with roasted pig. After that its a low key bachelor party. Neil, Hopefully we get good football, regardless of bad officiating.

  10. Good morning- Enjoyed dinner last evening with old (I know, it's redundant) friends from college. Washed down fish & chips with Sundog Amber Ale from New Holland Brewing Co., Holland, MI. On another note, does anyone have experience with digital downloads of Klipsch Tapes? I see one available online for $16. At that price, I'll use some of my birthday money to try it on my Pono player. Enjoy the day. May the best teams win, which is unlikely these days with the poor officiating.

  15. Good morning/afternoon my friends.............again, thanks for the photo compliments... Today is putting up some Christmas deco on the front pines and shrubs while the weather is good.. DIZ, please let us know what you think of those very 'old' recordings, they sound fresh! I also of the other on DVD-A (yes, they were pricey, but I feel worth every penny). The first one is a great sampler. The other VERY IMPORTANT thing with the first one is, one of the finest recording engineers who was very young that year, and PK took him under his wing, and so this early work is heard on that first sampler... His name?, John Eargle ! He passed away a few years back. Best known for his books on recording/engineering and pipeorgan recordings (since he was the organist I believe as well) orchestral recordings too, and believed in minimal miking, as do I.... He was also famous for his work with Delos records. Enjoy

  17. Absolutely sickening what is going on in this world. I live in mid Michigan and have plenty of worries as far as a certain concentration of people not far from me. My heart goes out to all the innocent victims in France and around the world.

  21. Carl had to lock his own thread. After asking that it not become a topic on a certain subject, a member immediately made it that subject. I would say something insulting but really what's the point? My condolences go out to the families and victims in Paris. Can we please leave it at that, or do we need another hair brain to get this locked? Sorry you locked yourself out Carl Mark

  22. I've just begun to listen to the Klipsch Tapes. The recordings I've listened to so far are excellent when listened to through my modified Klipsch S4 IEMs on my Pono in balanced mode. Perhaps later this weekend I'll get a chance to hook the Pono up to my new TSA3118 amp to see how the recordings sound from speakers and proper subs. The interview of PWK is very enjoyable.

  23. One cannot serve Mammon AND God. That is very nearly the basis for me saying there are moral, amoral and Immoral capitalists. I choose moral capitalists and check to see if they are. It is my responsibility to protect myself. I do not know how to verify your claims of millions in desperate straights. I know people on Social Security that are frugal, but not suffering in any way. Outside of that, I do not agree with any other thing you wrote. I do not have your depressed view of our country and it's conditions. My profession was in the environmental field. I definitely do not share your view that our environmental laws and regulations are corrupted and that we have bad air, water and soil. In places, sure. Some companies break the law, until caught. They are immoral capitalists, but that does not warrant tarring every company. No employer has a duty to provide retirement or medical insurance to its employees. That "benefit" began in WWII when wages were frozen and extras were added to get or keep employees. I alone am responsible for my health and its cost. To avoid raiding my investments, that I saved by living well below my means when I was working, I buy medical insurance. But, it is still my responsibility, alone. As is my income, now that I am retired. For most of my working years I saved all I was allowed to deduct from taxes, plus a little. We lived in a house that was half of what we supposedly could afford and drove used cars. If I can do it, anybody can. I attended government schools through college. I did not have an advantage over others other than the expectations my parents placed on me and their Christian morals they taught me. If I can do it, anybody can, if they choose to.

  24. Yeah if Holly keeps it off the ground she will have a much better shot. The last fight I paid for was Tyson and that lasted 30 seconds and I was in the bathroom.......I said never again but 10 bucks with friends is cheap entertainment.

  26. I don't think the troll comment had anything to do with Matt. The way I read it, Kirk was patting Carl on the back for being a good moderator, and mentioned he was a moderator on another forum along with the comment something like: "Forum and Topics may change, but trolls remain the same". I think he meant the comment in general...which I can agree with. I don't think Matt was ever the target in that comment. Maybe Matt feels differently and feels Kirk centered him out, but that's not the way I read it.

  27. Since the other thread got locked I want to make my thoughts made very clearly here: I'm so saddened for what France is going through right now. There is no cause, no belief, nor frailty of the human soul that can justify what they have been subjected to. What happened in France is an affront to the very essence of what it means to be a human being. Thoughts, prayers, and love to all of the families affected by this, and my support to the people of France in whatever they feel is the appropriate course of action to protect their great nation so that they can begin the long healing process.

  32. See the attached picture- my wife, having read through this thread, has decided to go into business. I'm fairly bald and always wear a hat indoors during the winter because my head is always cold! Applying that logic to tubes, her custom warmers (made out of proprietary combinations of exotic threads from Asia, including the silk of an almost extinct species of moth caterpillar) can be put in the microwave to heat them up, and placed on the tubes 10 minutes before a listening session to pre-warm them! Isn't that clever? Forum members will, of course, get a discount!!! Maynard

  34. I think Rousey is going to teach Holly to pick up another hobby...I know Holly is a beast on her feet but after watching how fast Rousey dealt out the punishment in her last fight I think Ronda gets her off her feet in a hurry and grabs an arm. I always go to mmashare.com to view the fight in its entirety only hours after the live fight. If I had a group willing to split in on it PPV is worth it. Can't really beat the live fights.

  35. I don't think it was ever meant to offend...in what I was stating. I was drawing a direct relation between the repeat offenders of this horrible rash of attacks by a particular group. Let's call them Ohio Grassmen. If we as a nation refuse to accept that these people exist it and fail to recognize them or take them at their word, it really won't matter much that we are afraid to hurt their feelings and in the end that will be cause for our own demise. I feel that there are plenty of views shared by the Grassmen in milder form that are well able to stand up and speak out about bad Grassmen but fail to do so. No offense meant to any Grassmen in the forum...

  37. At least I think I got you to understand it really PC that governs this forum, it is corporate "corectness" that counts in a global economy, and Klipsch doesn't need any comments in a public forum that could be construed as being derogatory against any individual or group based on race, religion or gender. Keep trying, you will get there. I'm still trying to understand your issues against Militia groups. And why is it okay, in your mind, to connect it to seemingly nefarious purposes but not any other group? You mean he wasn't transparent enough? LOL. Hypocrisy abounds even in the liberal camp. He's a smart lawyer, though. It will occur to him at some point.

  41. You gotta realize... dwilawyer is from Austin. They're still practicing blind tolerance over there. Frankly, this "man-made destruction" has become a bit too much. I wonder whether a large segment of people will have to take some personal casualties in their own back yards to gain the will to contain this growing terrorism problem.

  42. You should change your handle to civilrightslawyer instead. Obviously you are trying to provoke a response for something you are reading between the lines on. Nothing in my post denotes any finger pointing at all. For what it's worth I am referring to the Ohio grassmen that live in the woods and come out before dark. It's not just a fable you know.....they have even been captured on camera!

  45. I one hundred percent support the mods, and I support the idea of locking the topic. The reason being is that this is happening in real time, and all our nerves on on edge. I'll speak for myself, my nerves on on edge because of this horrific tragedy. And I know myself, when I'm feeling stress like this, I'm likely to say something out of pure emotion I wouldn't normally say. I appreciate the subject being acknowledged, then locked, to save you guys from me saying something stupid. I love you guys, and I love this place, but I really don't think we can openly talk about this on this Klipsch speaker site.
