  2. whenever a story involves a bar, questions must be asked. are you sure it was the wifi dropping off and not you? does the problem get worse the more you drink?

  3. That's fairly accurate actually. I need to get the front windows tinted so I don't make it look bad.

  4. whenever a story involves a bar, questions must be asked. are you sure it was the wifi dropping off and not you? does the problem get worse the more you drink? Nope, I haven't dropped in a bar in a very long time, it's was much more serious than that, on occasion the music would cut off, now that's serious. But it seems to work great now with a strong signal.

  7. Well we would like an update of the trip, hope it was good. The trip was awesome. We drove my wife's new SUV and it was the most comfortable , easy to drive vehicle we've ever had. Heading north on the first day we hit rain in Louisiana (surprise) but that was it. Both ways we spent the night in Chattanooga. The second day we hit a traffic jam and sat for an hour and a half. I think it was in Virginia. The way home was uneventful with great weather. It ended up being about 1450 miles door to door. We ended up with a rock chip on the windshield on the return trip but it should fill and be virtually unnoticeable. It was a really pleasant ride.

  15. Just a note...........it's nice when things work as advertised If anyone has WIFI that is not covering the space you want it to this will help. Well it did for me, a WIFI repeater, at $26 it easily extends your WIFI with no trouble to set up. Just plug it in and press your WPS button on your router and it's done. I was looking to add a better signal out by the bar in the yard as sometimes the WIFI would drop off out there, this worked great. http://www.netgear.c...px#tab-features got it off eBay here http://www.ebay.com/...I8AAOSwv0tVQqog

  16. Thanks. It wasn't in the cards to get over there but I appreciate the invite. My mother in laws house needed a lot of tlc. I was either working on it or running back and forth to Lowes while I was there. I fixed 2 commodes, one lavatory and a shower valve. She also had a problem with a sump pump drain freezing up last year (drain was run uphill) and no heat in one room (damper shut off). All fixed. We pulled tomato plants and cages, pulled seat cushions for re-upholstery and oiled door lock cylinders as well.

  17. Happy December 1 It's a gloomy rainy day in Southeast Michigan with a predicted high of 50. The better-half plans to take advantage of the mild weather to purchase a balsam fir to decorate for some reason.

  24. OMG, they are stunning and brilliant and shiny! I've waited so long to have the $$$ to get these and I can't tell you how thrilled I am to have them. Ok, maybe I don't have them yet, but it cost the same and I believe that I've made an investment in the future to be able to have them. Denise has waited a long time for this (6.5 years) and I know that she is as thrilled as I will be when I get those Jub's. On the bright side, lol, this insures that I will be in Hope for the 2016 pilgrimage and I will not be on a budget. Have a great evening, and sorry for the bait and switch. I found a woman that has accepted (not understands) my audio addiction. Life is good!

  25. The center channel is the most important speaker in a theater setup, I would do whatever I could to get the biggest and best to match what you have and make it work somehow.

  27. Morning folks. Cloudy and a tad chilly. Not much happening other than a trip to the range to shoot a friends AR-15 that he built. Went over and saw it yesterday and watched him break it down to show me the finer parts of a build. About ready to build mine with his assistance. It's funs picking out the parts from different sources. While there I mentioned my other hobby and as it turned out he has some vintage gear to give me to get it out of the way. Nothing too exciting but a beginners set up if everything works. A Pioneer SX-3700 (45wpc), a Pioneer graphic equalizer, and a Pioneer cassette deck. He changed the belts on the cassette player a few years ago. It will be fun to pull it off the top shelf of his garage storage and clean it good. Then to see what works. He also mentioned having some RS electrostatic speakers in the attic. LF just rode her bike off to the park to hit some tennis balls. Jake resting. Coffee done. Enough about me what's up with all you? Cheers Ladies and Gents

  29. I only have one request....PLEASE do not turn this into a "discussion" about 9/11. I am only posting these photos here for those that have not or could not see this site. My wife and I drove from our home in Indiana to visit my family in New Jersey for Thanksgiving. A little more than halfway there, the Flight 93 National Memorial is about 20 minutes off the main highway, close to Shanksville, PA. We arrived quite early in the morning, and were the only folks on the site. The memorial is very simple with an overlook, a visitors center, and the actual crash site that is marked by a large sandstone boulder. At the site, visitors leave all kinds of items as a kind of personal memorial I suppose. It is a very solemn and humbling experience, to say the least.

  31. 1/8" Hardboard, filament tape, and stretch wrap (starting at the bottom). Make corner protectors by stacking layers of cardboard then creasing them along their entire length. Should look something like this when you're done:

  32. The parts guy at Klipsch will say that you'll fry a tweeter with anything other than an exact match but that's not really how it works. There's plenty of guys powering speakers that can take a bunch of power, with receivers that can't pump out nearly as much. More important is the sensitivity. If what you mentioned was an issue, everybody with a multi-channel receiver period would be in trouble, because even if you did match it perfectly, as soon as you drive all the channels and not just two, your 110 watts is suddenly a mere fraction of that amount, making that number useless.

  35. Michael, Sorry to hear about your good friend Shaun. It has been a long time since I had seen this thread, so I had some catch up to do, and you were off the Forum before I got up to speed. I am sure that you are praying for Shaun, but let him know the rest of us are pulling for him as well. There is a very great opportunity to make great friends on this forum. I consider Kevin Harmon to be one of the best friends I have. I am also very fond of Christy and Elden and of course there are others as well Michael, As long as Shaun is healthy enough, I hope the two of you will consider coming out to Hope, Arkansas in April, so that you both have the opportunity to meet many more of us, and so we can meet the both of you. Praying for Shaun to get his B/P under control and start feeling better soon. Rog

  36. If someone stacked up new and vintage Klipsch speakers and speaker wire elevators then advertised them 'ON SALE' date and time you'd see 1/2 the members here doing the same thing the people in the video are doing. Then the people in the video would be watching the 'Klipsch Vintage Sale Video' and saying who the hell needs an audio setup, or two, in every room in the house. Keith

  37. A nice plush high-back chair can help block reflections off the rear wall. Depending on the room that might be a good thing. The plush part helps because it gets your ears way way closer to the reflection point - basically close enough that you're not getting any comb-filtering from the backing of the chair. Since you're taking measurements, rotate the mic 90 degrees and get it resting against the chair to see what I'm talking about. Of course you'll need to convince yourself that it is in fact omnidirectional enough to handle that.

  38. I bought a washer & dryer today without leaving the house. Didn't really want to buy anything but our 15+ year old washer has a bearing squeal and this is the time of year to buy appliances. Bought every other appliance in the house 2 years ago so replacing the HVAC is it for the mechanicals. Keith

  39. I mean seriously folks, how is what is shown in the first video acceptable? It's not that much different from rioting - and I think we've had plenty of that lately.

  40. A WIFI repeater to boost the range of the WIFI cheaply. Our WIFI signal if good but I wanted to boost it a little further into the yard. The bar is outside and the WIFI signal sometimes drops off out there and this little repeater fixed this problem. It plugs in within range of the WIFI router and repeats and boost the signal well past where I needed. Thought I would post since not everything you buy always works as advertised but this does, for $26 it works great and couldn't be easier to set up, press the WPS button on the router and your done.. http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-range-extenders/WN3000RP.aspx#tab-features

  41. Hey gang, got a lot of catching up to do from yesterday. Probably need to start fresh from this point. Hope your Sunday was good. Pretty mundane here with bill paying, groceries, etc. Knocked off the rest of Thanksgiving pie and do NOT want to get on the scale. Watched our Broncos pull off a big win vs. the Pats. We were still cleaning the kitchen at 10:30 last night but well worth it. Enjoy the day and cheers.

  42. Another Monday and another day back to work. The long weekend was nice. We had two Thanksgivings. The first was at our niece's house and the second was at our home. Here is a picture of the table setting at my niece's place. Her husband made the table from some huge beams with a steel base.

  44. Good Monday morning. It's been decades since I've had an alcohol fueled hangover, after way way too many in the 70s. I find that too much food can result in a hangover also. My theory is that excess amounts of alcohol or food requires your body to rid itself of the excess, which disrupts sleep, which generates a hangover. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but that's my theory and experience.

  45. I wish I could share some of the photos of the progress of the build. So far it's looking amazing! The goal is to have it completed by New Year's. Not sure if "we" are on schedule for that or not but nonetheless...progress is being made!
