  1. You have me missing my boat again Mark... It was a mini-cig type boat with a Chevy 350. Had it 18 years, and should have kept it. I asked the guy we sold it to if he would will it to me. I hope you get that bad azz black beauty someday. Double trouble and yikes on the gas consumption!

  6. Morning gang 37 wet from the sprinkles the other day. Costco Polish is slated for breakfast as well as xmas stock. Note on Polish breakfast at Costco: My "Marketing Research" I sit facing the returns counter, every purchase must travel past me, i like to see What everyone is buying, and do this every visit, fun really. Tv's and pretty much only the big ones, AND Bose! Bose everything! They say sprinkles sunday, we shall see, guys playing in the snow are happy. First REAL snow in four years, we are already talking feet up there. This will NOT help our water shortage, they are still letting more water out of the Dams than is coming in. Dams measured in Cubic Feet Per Second. Listed daily on-line as CFS. Inflow 950CFS, Outflow 1150CFS WTF? They have been doing this for four years.

  8. LOL - yeah me too !!! 10'/10G with gold banana ~ $80 3 premium RCA interconnects ~ $80 ea. Am afraid if I don't do it now, I never will. I am so meticulous when it comes to routing and wiring, only want to do it once. Kinda of checking to see if I might be out of my mind? The thread title does say "cables" Is that $80 per foot on the RCA's or the entire one meter cable? If $80/meter you ain't scratched the surface yet. Just wait --- cables can be a very slippery slope.

  10. Nice Friday evening to you all......interesting subjects videos and photos everyone! I am here in Music Hall, taking in a BluRay audio (24/96) recording of Aaron Copland and just relaxing after a FOUR day pipe organ tuning, worker bee style of course, and now, time to sit and take in some tunes and a fine CA. vino given to me by my neighbors across the street... I have a little story to share with you... About 5 years ago, these neighbors whom BTW are retired eye surgeons - yeah, matching S-500's in the garage etc... They know that I am into audio and home theater and asked if I would set them up with a full 7.1 system and new TV etc. So, I set the up with a low profile audio rack from Salamander.. A 55" flat screen, all Infinity speaker system and DFA subwoofer, Wood Technologies speaker stands etc. Well, that was all bought by them, setup and tuned by me... In the end, it was OVERKILL for them and earlier this year, they wanted to get rid of all the surrounds, tower speakers and stands for something less intrusive in there 'Art Room' which is 20x14' ... I was a bit surprised by this, but figured a sound bar and matching sub would be good for them. I picked out a Klipsch and was about to present my suggestion to them when.......................... I went over to visit this week and saw that ALL the speakers were GONE! In place, was a SONOS sound bar! Well, they had set out on their own I guess and that was fine with me.. Moments later.......Bob's wife said they wanted to give me something!! Turns out, all the speakers INCLUDING the very nice ONKYO 7.2 receiver and Definitive subwoofer were loaded into my SUV for the taking!!! So, HUGE score / Christmas gift ! Photos coming up in the next post. I'm a lucky guy for sure

  16. Downfall, the movie that parody clip is taken from is excellent, as are many of the well written parodies using that clip. The cables parody is very well done. I also like the one about MSU's latest victory over U of M, but then I'm not impartial. You'll have to Google, "Hitler MSU parody" if you're interested. The language is unsuitable for the forum.

  19. $80 for the entire 1M RCA cable (1pc R/L). Really does not seem like that much when I see cables going for $1000+ on the Gon.

  26. Hey Gary...i’m sure that being a great neighbor had more to do with it than luck. Wish my neighbors were eye surgeons...been seeing flashes of light in my peripheral vision. went to eye doctor and got checked out...no holes or tears in the retina...vision is still fine...just these flashes of light and floaters and they’re annoying.

  29. C'mon Tar, let's not make this thread about guns! Happy Friday! Enjoy the weekend and that there is now less than one week before the Star Wars movie will be released. I know - you're all as excited as I am. Now there's even a thread for it, but just bask in the excitement, let the spirit of the reason for the movie season just take over... Anyway - Everyone have a great one!

  39. Thanks; but, since the appointment I’ve seen a whole bunch of stuff that i’m not really interested in. Oh well, i did enjoy this episode of The Andy Griffith Show that i watched today. It was good to see that; but, i could only play the guitar for a few minutes because, while i can play without looking, i like to look at the fretboard when I’m making up new stuff...whenever i did, there was that flashbulb going off...so i put the guitar away. asked the doctor if it was going to be this way forever and she said no.

  41. Oh hell, get the BIG van and save yourself the hassle. Consider the up-charge for a proper transport vehicle part of the acquisition. Less headache with dis / re assembly, and greater peace of mind knowing no damage will occur during the ride home. just saying……No need to jump over a gate to keep from wearing out the hinges.

  42. You know, I must say, I will not be seeing this in theaters as I have given up seeing movies in theaters for the most part. My sound and picture is so good, so far and away above any theater I've been to, that it's just not worth it to me. My theater room setup (which has a freakin kitchen in it) is just too damn awesome to drag myself out to the cineplex, kids in tow. There are just way too many inconveniences that I do not find to be worth the trip. We absolutely love our home theater and love getting blu-ray disks in the mail, we don't mind waiting a bit longer to see movies on a system we built and that we control. Not to mention we are vegan, and can't really find good organic or vegan options in any theaters. I hope I didn't put a hamper on this thread, this post is in no way meant to be a slight at anyone who does prefer going to the theater.

  44. This is so freeekin cool! We talked a bit and it turns out he got back into audio about 3 years ago, got the equipment bug and has been buying a lot of 70's stuff, mostly into Pioneer. Bought these at an auction and got a big negatory from the missus. Had a friend of his son evaluate them and he told him that not working about $700 is fair. Now Alan figures that since people are going to have to spend money to travel and get them, $500 is really fair. Well we talked a bit and he tells me that he only hooked one up and could only get sound out of the woofer, and he's worry he might damage his classic Sansui so he stops his testing there. Doesn't matter to me I've got to go for this, right. So I commit to buying and we will meetup on Sunday. He lives in a Virginia county that has only one stoplight about 3 hours from me. He calls me about 15 minutes ago, got to fooling around with them and now both work except for one horn. Any change in the price because of this I ask, thinking it only reasonable. Nope, he says, I wouldn't do that to you!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great guy. I'm going to go through my equipment stash to see what I can toss his way by way of thanks. I'll also be bringing him some records, some sealed by way of thanks. The audio gods are smiling on me. Khorns for Christmas, Khorns for Christmas, Khorns for Christmas, he hums to himself, the germination of a smash Christmas hit song bubbling up through his giddiness.

  48. Yeah, too late, I think you've totally ruined the mood. I think I can speak for everybody here and confirm that now, nobody is going to see Star Wars in the theaters next week. Instead, we're all going to wait for the Blu-ray to come out, then we're coming to your house to hear that great sound system of yours and have some vegan popcorn. We're hoping you will have upgraded to Dolby Atmos by then.
