  4. Morning gang, coffee is Starbucks Breakfast Blend. Not to bad from the Keurig, of coarse I had use two cups and brew on the medium size cup setting. Breakfast is maple and brown sugar oatmeal, you know the instant stuff. Well not much on the board today, working/cleaning the garage, watching the Vikings take on the Pack. Got to go and see some cool gear yesterday, Frazier X-215-W, Altec voice of theater(the real deal), and prototype of the earthquake that was made for the movie earthquake. All in an old grain mill on the old Lincoln Highway, all so known as Highway 6, and Highway 30. This is the oldest building on the highway dating back to the 1800's. I wish I had taken some photos, I will once the gentleman who is turning it into an audio museum is finished. Here is some info on the old Lincoln High Way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Highway

  5. Thank You, im well aware of "The Stash". They go bad also, i know, been there done that. We rotate the supply chain here, untill of course of of us forgets to inform the other "we are ON the Stash" so the "Blame" is shared. Had a brilliant idea one day to stash some in a "Mason flip top" type jar. Upon going for the much needed stash, i found it had been so long since i was in that jar, THE RUBBER SEAL ROTTED! I.E. stale coffee that smelled like an ashtray. It all works out though in the end. Place me in a major food store this early in the morning, by god im shoppin!! Current menu as of this store visit: Chrizzo/Eggs/fried taters Major Dickinsons Blend whole Bean enhanced W/The Duggans. Pot should be perked and waiting...............

  6. Bad planning. You need to get a supply of individually packaged coffee to squirrel away for just such a crisis. The Mylar bag keeps the 100% Colombian fresh until, "In case of emergency, break glass."

  7. Good morning- Enjoying a cup of Bigby Coffee, also included in the gift basket from my brother. The delicious hot chocolate mentioned a few posts back was Ghiradelli Premium Hot Cocoa. Not like the Bosco from my youth, much better. I think the wife and I will use movie passes received last week to take in TFA this morning.

  12. Sorry to hear this Mark. We went through this with my Mom a few years ago. When my Dad said I'll take care of you till the day we die, he meant it. My Dad has 7 children trying to convince him to put her in a nursing home, he put her in one for a weekend, and said they weren't caring for her so he brought her back home. Looking back, I really admire what he did. She died in their home after a 16 year battle with Alzheimer's.

  13. LMAO, Earthquake movie, i was in country Japan and saw this in their theater. Not bad for the 70s really. My formost memorable experience was in this Japanese theater, the movie "Midway".....yeah, whole theather PACKED/sold out with the people of Japan. Me/my shipmate sitting a FULL one head higher than anyone in the theater, were getting a little "Snear"/"Eye" once in a wile. I at the time, was on the Midway. I do miss those days, Japan is really a pretty cool place, keep in mind there are still signs on a few businesses that state, "No Round Eyes"

  20. Hi. Current system is a Marantz 7701 pre amp, a Marantz MM7055 5 channel amp. Current speakers are all Klipsch, RF-7 II mains, RC-64 II center, RS-52 II surrounds. Sub is a HSU VTF-15H MK2. Considering adding a 2 channel amp to go from a 5.1 to a 7.1 set up. Cost about 1000-1400. Room is 24x24. Will additional sound justifie cost? Another option considering is stay with the 5.1 system and upgrade surround speakers to the RS-62II's. Or just run with what I have. Opinions?

  26. Sancho man, what's happening. Not going to pm you like awhile back. Hope you are all well. The little one's especially. Well can say from first hand experience, I just had a couple of sips from the apple pie moonshine that, there is something to it. Have to find out later but chasing it with a couple more or 2 Stella. HAD more to say but, it may have just tamed me a bit.:

  27. Hummmm, Hot Chocolate, have not had that for awile, think i'll try that. That or pickle juice My wife strains and saves Clausen pickle juice and stores it in the fridge. When I get a leg cramp she makes me drink a shot of pickle juice. It makes no sense, but the salty brine seems to immediately address a cramp. Sort of like Amish Gatorade.

  28. Having carefully measured post spacing at 8' with a 12" post hole I then assured that the post was plumb and just kissing the mason string before adding 160 lbs of sakcrete to the hole. What I didn't do was make sure that the lateral spacing of the posts was correct in order to use 16 foot 2 x 4 top caps and 16 foot 2 x 10 bottom kick / rot boards so they would meet in the middle of the post. A 12" hole leaves a lot of room for error! This is not a one man job in the rain and then the rubber band holding the post level breaks; screw this, time for a drink.

When Mark said we will stop for coffee on the way to work, I said I am going to the store NOW...show stopper... We have shopped for coffee pots for years. Just like toasters. You find one you like but the reviews are bad. Sometimes I think people just want to b!tch, but sometimes the bad reviews are right. Every coffee pot we have gotten over the last 20 years has cost more than $150. None have lasted more than a couple years. This time I win. Got a Mr coffee basic 12 cup pot for $15. DONE. maybe I will buy another one for a back-up. Maybe another grinder too. Self insurance Did MKP :-) ever tell you that he did not drink coffee before hooking up with me? Lol

  31. I've owned a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited since new. 240,000 miles and still going strong. Only year they did a 5.9 L was the '98 3 sets of tires, 4 water pumps, 2 power steering pumps, 1 alternator, 5 batteries, motor mounts, radiator fan, new axle and rear end but other than that, it's been great..... Just Empty Every Pocket

  32. If it is a long term buy you can't go wrong with the Jeep, and especially the Rubicon...I have found them very reliable, tough as nuts, and high re-sale.... Buy yourself a gently used one, and benefit even more.
    3 points
  33. The same group also owns Ferrari and Maserati but you don't hear people whining about that. The Jeep transmissions are actually the same ones that were in $750,000 Mercedes supercars. I have zero complaints about mine other than the tire pressure gauge is finnicky.

  41. Because they're awesome. Unless you're going to scratch it all up every weekend on stupid tight woods trails where you need the tightest turning ratio possible, there's no need for a two door. If you're worried about breakover angle, then lift it and put bigger tires on. They're more stable and look better when you do that vs. the 2 door anyway. That blue Rubicon sure is pretty, but in my opinion, it is absolutely retarded to buy a Rubicon if you are not planning on abusing it. Kind of like all those idiots that had Vettes when I was a kid and drove them like they were driving a Rolls Royce My buddies had $,500 self mapping GPS systems with flat screens the size of your PC monitor to go down to Sothern Ohio. You can go back in for 50 miles down there so it pays if you want to play. My one buddy even had a tug of war where he drug a Semi Tractor across the lot with his H-1 Roger My poor 67 Vette went through the eyes at 12.20 seconds and 116.4 MPH granny shifting and I drove it on the street to work. God it was thrilling to get about 150 miles to the tank on Sunoco 260. JJK

  44. Im sure it's Tim. Warhouse is full of goodies, everyone within a hundred miles should go get an education. Klipsch is by far NOT the only speakers in stock. Tim pretty much told me his one man mission is to save dated audio, and he is doing very well at it. Bring check book because Tim WILL work with you, you aint leaving empty handed. See if i can dig up some Pic's of his place........

  48. Personally if you aren't getting the atmos towers I'd get the 260 over the 280 and spend the saved money and skip the 440c and get the 450c. Get you some surrounds and a nice little sub and you'll be golden! (Or copper )
